This Carson McKee is my new favorite country singer! Makes me want to buy an old, beat-up car and drive for the desert and keep driving until it all runs out.
LOVE IT... Saw John in 79 at UNC-G ...My family knows this is the song they will sing at my funeral...(Do Dear Abby)"You are what you are and you ain't what you ain't"..
I was smiling even before i heard you sing the first note. And, as always, you really delivered the goods. I hope you realize how much joy you bring to folks with your musical talents, sense of humor, and caring attitude. A friend of my recently shared and old youtube vid of a song he wrote that contained the following line, “be kind, self-aware… and just be.” I think you’ve got that down pretty good. Hey, if you are taking requests, Jim Croce’s tune Hey Tomorrow is one I think you could really wrap your vocal chords around. Take good care and thanks for the great music. ~ Mark
Love the drop D. I have to practice the funky way you do the G chord. I always watch for your latest Carson. You and all your friends are so talented. Always love anything Prine. This is Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on YOU TUBE.
Sweet Revenge was one of many albums i started listening to at the ripe ol age od 6 years old. Been a huge John Prine fan ever since. My first concert was The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1973, i was 5. Thank you daddy for my love of music, i got it from you.❤
Great job singing this John Prine song Carson, John would be impressed and pleased of your rendition. I really like John Prine's songs and his brilliant wit and way with words. I saw him in concert at Portland, Me. -- R.I.P. John Prine and thank you for your contribution of wonderful songs and entertainment for us to enjoy.
Man that was an excellent rendition of that song! Listening to you singing some of my favorite songs brings me joy. So thank you! Keep on pickin brother…… 😎
I was introduced to you because of your cover of "Wagon Wheel Take 2" with Josh Turner! Being a guitarist (who had yet to develop any meaningful vocal-ability) I was besotted by the talent of you young dudes! (I'm probably 20 or more years older!) For a few years, I wrongfully assumed Josh was the "bigger talent". HUGE as he is, I finally have come to realize that YOU are actually the more "gifted with the magic"! (NOT to poo-poo on the technique-technical-minded Josh!) ...anywho, You are my other favorite!
I'm not sure - since both mics are in a figure 8 (or close to) pattern, I think one of them was picking up some slapback from my computer monitor or desk. That might be what you're hearing.

All truth and no hanging back - Prine cuts!
My 3 brothers and I had a band in the late 70s and we must have done that song 1000 times. Really brings back memories. Fantastic job.
It's such a fun one. I could see a band really having fun playing it together. Thanks!!
@@carsonmckeemusic Back then very few people knew about John Prine so the audience thought we wrote all those songs.🤣
Good lord, John could straight up write his ass off. Good job.
He was such a great songwriter. Thank you for doing him proud with this great rendition. The pause for a swig killed me! 🍺
Great rendition of that John Prine song Carson. The socks and beer were a classic, I think John would have liked that

When u do your fine covers of Dylan and now J.P. - your voice is too perfect - kinda throws me off lol
You do this so well...thanks!
Thanks! Carson

Fun!
OK, I thought the tempo was just a bit slow however, the beer break was awesome!
Nice! 😊
👍👍👍
Nothing like a John Prine song sung well.
Well done my friend
Lol, that’s awesome
Even Elvis loved this song...True Story...
Can you put together a compilation video of your tunes. 180K seconds of Carson.
Americana needs Mr. McKee.
What happens at 50 seconds? Am I hearing something that's not there, or is there a little twitch in the recording?
