"Thanks" for playing common themes with the power of the Wavestate under them. Good choices. This is IMO the most under-rated synth from Korg in years. Hard to grog but worth the learning curve. It always sounds "finished" and never raw. That is both its' downfall and strength. Love it. I put it away a few years ago because I was composing too many things and it was a crutch.

Woody Dude! I can see from your expression you were enjoying playing this great little synth. I love the Wavestate, it is a synth like no other. It can even help music illiterates like me create beautiful-sounding melodies. I bought a mark I second-hand two years ago and enjoyed it sooo much I upgraded to the SE. You can get an immediate entry to cool playing sounds through the presets and set lists but when you get used to the menus and dive in there is a bottomless ocean of creative potential. It sits above my Polybrute in my set-up and gets a lot more play time, so satisfying.

Woody! You’ve done it again! With your playing skills, the utterly amazing sounds produced and your sheer joy, another Wavestate is sold. I tried so hard to resist to no avail. Didn’t really try that hard to be honest. It’s winging its way here as I write. Will have to find room for it amongst the mountain of keyboards, guitars, amps, drum machines, etc. that I’ve acquired over the years. I’ve always had such a love of music all my life and getting new gear is so good, but becoming a little problematic lately. I think I might have a “buying too much equipment problem” though…
My guitars will gently weep along with the neighbours when I put the Korg through its paces. Oh yes!!!

For a long time I had a Wavestation EX. Back then it was the best rompler. It was better than the M-1 and T-3 and the 01/W wasn't released yet. Roland had the D-70, but that has only a 15Khz sampling rate. I used the EX for every sound possible, and I recreated sounds from excisting songs. But I never used the Vector joystick. I tried it, but it involved the main volume of the sound, so it was unusable to me. The wavesequencing made a good auto-accompaniment though.

I have many individual synths, and I'm trying to minimize what I need for a rig.
I'm working to getting small keyboard rigs down to two keyboards, that I can mix and match: 1) a workstation / stage keyboard for almost everything 2) a lead / bass / secondary synth.
For example, for #1, it's either my Hammond SKx + 25-note pedals, Roland EX or Korg Pa5X; for #2) it's my Arturia AstroLab or Roland AX-Edge, or soon to be Osmose.

totally agree, would be a solid buy at 1299, for example

@@WoodyPianoShack good point Woody . I guess if you're using for pure enjoyment and not production I think the Wavestate SE would be the way to go with a bigger keybed.

they do not have these sounds, although the sample engine has wave sequencing lite engine going on, but not in this league, and without the vector joystick!

Really great sounds, but plasticky build quality (Minilogue is so much better), so-so knobs and buttons and keys, and cumbersome menu setup

Nicely played. And great, a song list. Please, please always make at least a short song list. I'm always wondering what song that was again 😉 . Not impressed with the Wavestate at all. I don't need sounds that play by themselves or have a lot of sound effects.

i often like to leave the viewers wondering about the song, but i sometimes make it too easy for you! luckily you don't have to use these sounds, can be as simple or complex as you desire

I love the Wavestate, but the preset list is definitely overly heavy on unique and not very usable patches. All the pieces are there to create great usable patches but it would have been nice to get a section of good basic synth sounds as presets.
