There are few shops at the airport which sell tourist sim, but I found cheaper Sims in the city. I purchased the sim from MBK centre.

The prices of sims (and packages) are the EXACT SAME at the airport and at MBK. For example, the DTAC 7 day tourist sim (3.5 GB of high speed 4G data, unlimited 2G data, and 40 baht of call credit) is 299 baht whether you buy it at the airport or at MBK. The DTAC sim at MBK is cheaper because it is only 1GB of data and there is no call credit. So you are comparing different sims/packages. At the airport they try to sell you the tourist sims because that is what most tourists buy, but you can also buy the cheaper packages (e.g., the 49 baht sim and 1GB of data). The benefits of buying at the airport are (i) you get your sim right away (so you don't have to wait hours (or until the next day) to connect your phone, and (ii) you don't have to waste time and money traveling to MBK to find a sim.
Are you sure about unlimited 2g data? Because after 2.5gb speed is reduced to 384kbps. As the website mentions??
Suvarnabhumi airport has all three telecom company shops at the arrival hall. These prices are fixed and definately not any higher or lower then anywhere else. This is a load of bogus.
was in Thailand last year.picked up true sim from airport for 90 bahts....15day validity....3g speed 2gb n local n calls to India.....didnt need to top up.

You dont ride a motorbike from the city to Don Muang or Survarbumi Airport, it is toooo far away and way too expensive. For Don Muang airport take a bus (No. 29 non aircon or aircon) all the way from Mah Boon Kong (MBK ) Shopping Mall. . As for Survarbumi Airport you can take the skytrain from Phayathai Skytrain Rail Link.

It reminds my experience in KL in September,2017. One thing to add, one can get these sims in local market in very cheap than what you have mentioned in this video.

Earlier this year I bought sim from truemove at Bangkok airport, It work out well. The phone I had was unlock and it was a rogers phone from Canada.
Boy I really wish I had seen your budget friendly ways to travel smart that would have saved me going bankrupt . I have travelled to Mauritius Thailand Indonesia and Myanmar wuth Nepal Bangladesh Bhutan covered to and on each of those trips I got a serious hit on my bank balance to the point of bankruptcy simply because I simply didn't live drift smart like you. In 2016 they were giving Free Dtac Tourist Sim upon arrival at airport to all passengers. It had few minutes of talk-time and a little Internet data pre-loaded on it. You should have received this. Maybe they stopped handing them out. So much headache to get a tourist sim in the city.

The Sim costs the same. Rather Mostly tourist sims are available for free @ Airport. Just recharge the same @ any 7 ELEVEN SHOP,

Tourist SIM are available at almost all Seven Elevens. Check 2 or 3 and you will find one. I bought a SIM there and prices were cheaper than Airport. Also TruMove is the best. Further after purchasing a SIM you can access Tru WiFi network which is available almost everywhere. Your data will still be left as WiFi will be everywhere.
