Attention Everyone: There is a fan remaster of Driver Called The Driver Syndicate. This is as close as we are getting to an official sequel. It includes all new maps and cars. I dont know its current status however its been a while since i played the WIP release.
actually driver syndicate is a spiritual successor of driver 1 not a remaster. it's also made by JellySoap the same guy who reverse engineered RE-DRIVER 2. Speaking of RE-DRIVER 2 the dev is working on something called OpenDriver2 which will be like RE-DRIVER 2 but will become pure pc with no more psx emulation meaning there won't be any restrictions to improving and modding things. This will also include the ability to use driver 1 level files therefore porting the psx driver 1 to pc (sort of).
Driver Syndicate is heavily based the first Driver. If you want Driver 2 remaster, try Redriver 2. They have fixed lot of graphic glitches like short draw distance. And the most important is less frame drop due to PSX hardware limitations.
I remember 4 yr old me being stuck on the 1st mission and not knowing what a slalom was. Had to ask my dad for help and he didn't know either so he just kept playing around with it until he got it lol
@@blakecooper669 Having been recently playing the game and recorded some clips; I can confirm that the game does in fact run at a smooth *30fps* despite any video recording would think it's running higher than that. It is said that they're working on making the engine handle 60fps. But for now, the game is running at 30fps by default.
Driver 1 and 2 are godlike racing games. There are so many things to do and the pursuit was awesome. Also, many hidden cars to find, incluiding the Mr. Bean's mini cooper lol
Driver and Driver 2 were actually the first games I completed as a kid. Having flashbacks of how many times I tried to pull a controller apart brings back good memories LOL
One of my favourite games ever- such a solid physics engine, especially for how old the game is. Underrated. Pretty nice story. So much better than GTA for people who like pure driving. Loved having secret cars that could be unlocked and finding out how to do so was so much fun and made me so curious to explore. Loved it.
this and driver 1 were the first open world racing games. i was just having fun exploring the world and tried to unlock new cities and cars. back in the day there were a lot of games that were hard to beat. that was the challenge.
I loved this game back in the day on PS1. Good job bringing it here :) Edit: Car wasn't bouncing this much on PS1 back then. It may be something with the "PC" version IMO.
I went back and played all the driver games multiple times over the years, there great, But you too much dedication to actually complete them. all the times I went back I prob only have ever beat them all maybe 1nce each
Me : "Well, I completed Driver SF in my PS3, I wonder how the other Driver games will be" Also me seeing Kuru suffer by Driver 2 difficulty : "Ookay I'll think about that again"
If you finished this game during your childhood, chances are you are a god at driving games now. Like Kuru said, this game isn't just hard, it's borderline unfair.
It's beyond unfair. If you drive perfectly, then you have a random chance at success. Good mission designs reward good skill with success, not with a small chance of success on top of skill.
I played all the old drivers as a kid. I thought I was really bad at the game because my dad said it was easy, he was lying kekw. But being shit at this made me want to get better at racing games. So I guess I can sort of thank this game for getting me into hard-core racing
Man I remember playing that game when I was little. Yes the missions are hard, especially the Las Vegas missions uugh. I almost rage like hell (the airport mission)
Played and beat this on PlayStation as a kid. I don’t know version you’re playing, but I don’t remember it ever being this difficult. I have a lot of great memories with both Driver 1 and 2.
This game was my childhood. Lots of rage quits trying to beat it. Finally beat it when i was 10. I think i struggled the most on the Beat the Train mission 😓
The French know that any old Infogrames game is probably a buggy extremely difficult mess. We have a youtuber who has played a lot of their old games to demonstrate it.
Grew up playing this hard game and got stuck in Havana and never finished the whole game, would be nice to have a ps2 and a copy of this game again since I don't have a pc either.. but very cool to see someone playing this game
dayummmmmmm i used to play with with my father and brother, and we used to time it and see who would survive longer running away from police. unreal fun

driver 2 was my favorite driver game but the survival mode was the greatest thing ever with friends around seeing who could survive the longest

I really missed this game 😢😢😢😢😢
Me : "Well, I completed Driver SF in my PS3, I wonder how the other Driver games will be"

I'll recommend either Parallel Lines or the first one (which is a little less difficult than this one).
Driver is my childhood
The editor is definitely having fun with the InstantGaming ad placements
These are the cops everybody wants in NfS games, these days.
Oh you want harder cops? Driver2 got you covered :D
Since you're playing Driver. Is there any chance you can play other PS1 car games like Twisted Metal?
If you finished this game during your childhood, chances are you are a god at driving games now.

I bear the first part when I was 11. It was quite a big deal for me xD But I'm not god of racing games.

It's beyond unfair. If you drive perfectly, then you have a random chance at success. Good mission designs reward good skill with success, not with a small chance of success on top of skill.
You should play Stuntman on PS2 if you haven't already, can be a fairly difficult game but definitely fun.
It's made by the same developers as driver too

We need a remake of this
This is the remake. Re Driver 2?
I loved driver 2, played it all day when i was kid, gta before gta.
the level chase in rio is still one of the hardest levels in video gaming history
Only chasing the helicopter one that was really hard.
Have you tried "The President's Run" in the first Driver game? Then you'll know what a hard level/mission is.
^Lol then you haven't seen President's run in Driver like they said. I think that level deserves to be called the hardest in gaming history
Btw every game made by infogrames can be considered as the hardest games ever. For example fantasia and the well known dragon’s lair.
I remember Driver 1 was harder for me to finish that 2, I managed to beat Driver 2 like 3 times but Driver 1 last mission is really hard that I only won thanks to a glitch that made me get out of the map right in the last turn of NY.
Jones mission - never forget
I remember the driver 1 tutorial, complete pain
If I remember correctly, you can change the difficulty level in options at the main menu.
Physics level : family
I salute the programmers of this mess for making the car hit physics weird *in a racing game*
Maybe Kuru found a hard game, but he definitly found nostalgia for some.
i got the original Driver on disk. Let's go!
there is a funny glitcvh on V1.0 of this game where you can make streets non solid objects so the cars just fall through the map
You should consider playing Total Immersion Racing. It is an old circuit racing game that came out of cereal boxes back in the day.
That hitman (in Save Jones mission) in Rio was a joke by the way. For takedown mission though, grinding cars is the way to win.
Driver 1 is even harder (last mission with saving PRESIDENT is the peak). But whole series is awesome and 3rd game is my personal favourite
Funny thing is I legit win the final mission in Driver 1. Sideways is your friend
@@wedakrishna1069 Yeah, true, but damn these hard missions are so memorable (not only in Driver 1)
i think driver 1 is more difficult
You've to be kidding me... Now I have to see it. I can't imagine what kind of bullshit that game has.
Driver 1 and Driver 2 only has hard final mission. Though I legit win the final stage in Driver 1.
Also the bomb package in SF kek.
I beat this game 100% then 2 weeks later my memory card overheated and exploded a bit, rip 40+ hours of hardness and broken controllers
5:37 tandem cops
Kuru breaks every game. No exceptions.
every chase mission is just the president’s run
3:37 Infogrames was made NFS V Rally
The nostalgia hits hard
