Hey man, try pulling the fish towards the dock when fishing around them. The fish will naturally try to pull against your rod and in turn it will run away from the dock. I’ve had pretty good success with that and not losing fish. Sounds a little counter intuitive but maybe it’ll help you not break fish off around docks.

Hey man I appreciate you watching! I usually avoid the wappoo cut in a kayak but have caught reds from the rocks at the little park and boat ramp at the end of Plymouth Rd. The stono is super fishy and there is lots to explore… penny creek has always held great sea trout fishing. The creek mouths along the stono by the county park are always good. It’s also fun to explore way back toward the end of cutoff reach and ending up in Robinsons creek. Enjoy!

Great video. Looks like a ton of fun. This looks like low tide. Do you have any tips for fishing in this summer heat? I haven't had much luck in Chs this summer.

Yeah we fished low outgoing through low incoming. I like the lower tides and look for feeding indicators like fleeing bait and deeper wakes from redfish. I’d recommend cast netting bait wherever you are and using that on a jig head, popping cork, or Carolina rig. Bait is so thick right now that it can be difficult to compete. As far as gear, cover your body from head to toe if you can. I like the hooded shirts by freefly.
