Absolutely! It’s priceless to review the video and see the reaction to my lure. What stands out is from how far away they sense the bait in these conditions.
After watching the drone footage I realized that I was working my lure too fast for the first few failed attempts on the flats. I only caught them by leaving the lure where it landed, only twitching it occasionally.
@@CurrentAngling I’ve been wanting to get out and do some saltwater fishing. I thought the temperatures were a little bit too cold right now for this area I guess not since you’re catching them up on the flats may have to go this coming weekend and give it a try.
Awesome, Corey! The sight fishing has been hot this winter for Reds in the lowcountry, on sunny days in very shallow, clear water in close proximity to the main channels of rivers, sounds. I've been using shrimp-pattern streamers on a fly rod, finding them in schools over submerged oysters and grass beds in a foot or two of water. Really enjoyed this great video, my friend!
It’s fun but also risky business! I few months ago I lost one to the water. I usually launch and land from the kayak which isn’t ideal but I do what I have to do. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Mike! I’m actually trying to simplify my filming set up so post edit is easier. The 360 with a wired mic might be the right tool. I hope to publish significantly more videos in 2025.
probably one of my favorite videos you've put out…lots of learning here! i need to get off of the bank fishing here in W. Ash and get back in my kayak! i just need to find a wingman!
Thanks! That means a lot! I’ve been struggling to find time to make consistent videos. I’m hoping I can get one out every other week (minimum) in 2025.
I certainly have more time between catches this time of year. What the video doesn’t show was a couple hours with no bites. Cold temps brings the redfish together so 99.99% of the water is empty. For me it’s about covering ground and finding them. This time of year I might average maybe 4-10 fish for a half day. Maybe more if I can find the trout. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Love the drone footage! Keep it coming! God Bless!
Appreciate it! It’s helpful when I’m reviewing the footage to see how the redfish react.
I support the drone work! Good learning for learning and teaching which is what is going on.

Great footage, Corey! Looks like a good day out there. That water was super clear too!
Thanks dude! I appreciate ya!
Man , awesome !
Thanks for watching!
@@CurrentAngling Yw buddy
Can’t wait to get my drone
I’m here in town with ya. You’re a brave man!! Enjoying your channel. Thx
I just get out when schedule permits. Rain or shine!

I think in really cold clear days they get out over these type of areas because that water warms up the fastest in the sunlight.
@@CurrentAngling I may head down to Pawley’s Island this weekend and give it a try
That sounds fun I hope you get on em!
Well, done! Way to put the work in!!
Thanks Jack! As you know, most the work is on the back end in editing
360 cam is a nice addition. good stuff braving the cold for us!
Thanks! Still working it into the flow but I love it so far!

Awesome comment, very helpful! I’d love to start slinging a streamer this year. I’ve never used a fly rod on saltwater fish. 8wt?
@@CurrentAngling Yes, 8w. Very slow retrieves in this cold water, with pauses.
8wt will be on my birthday wish list. Thanks!
That was cool dude!
Thanks man !
Sweet video. I love the drone shots. I’ve been wanting to shoot with a drone for a while now. Hopefully soon. Keep up the good work!

@ that is the only reason I have been hesitant. I would say it only a matter of time until it takes the plunge.
@Paddlesandpoles I’ve naught used off marketplace and kept to older but still very functional models like DJI mini 2 and now mavic 2
@ I have my eyes on the dji mini 4K. Seems like the right price for something that will basically always be over water.
@Paddlesandpoles yep! Sounds about right! Snatch it out of the sky with confidence 🫡
Dude, you're really good at this. I live not far south of you should you decide to show me a thing or 2. Bless you brother, be safe
Thanks man! I’ve practiced a few times 🤣 I appreciate the comment and maybe I’ll see you one the water sometime!
Like the view that the Insta 360 gives…
Love the drawing footage also keep up the good work…

Awesome footage and video brother. I caught a 27 and 31 on the wandoo a few weeks ago in the shallow flats like that.
It’s certainly a fun way to catch em. Looking at the video there were some tanks on the flat. I guess I caught the babies
@CurrentAngling may ha e been the babies brother but still catching red fish like that is always a blast especially with the clear water

Agreed!! What editing program do you use?
Premier pro
@CurrentAngling Cool. I use Davinci Resolve. It has some pretty cool features.
Great video! On average how many fish do you catch this time of year? I love Charleston Fishing
