Just bought this s9, I’ve had Samsungs before before I went to iPhone full time and trust me I love my iPhone im still using it.. but I always loved the older Samsungs etc. so yes I’m operating from both apple and Samsung 😭
Had to switch from my 13 pro max for about a month because I sold it to buy the 15 pro max which arrive tomorrow. And ngl the s9 never let me down! Had a good experience overall. Still holding up pretty well in 2023.
S9/10 are still beasts with snap 845/855, but only in US and Canada. If you try a European S9 you're going easily to throw it out off the window, trust me 😅 nice vid by the way!
Don't know what kind of trash you install on your phone, mine is European, a non snap version, and works just fine now. Never had a single issue with it and I use more of the phones capabilities than 90% of smartphone users. So not sure what you are on about.
I had a cheap android phone from walmart it costed like $120 dollars it had 3 cameras and android 12 but it was glitchy and the camera still sucked i bought a mint s9 in purple it doesnt have a scratch on it and i love this phone and the battery is still good it hasnt degraded alot either but i am taking it in for a battery replacement in a few months because i plan on keeping this phone for atleast a year then imma upgrade to a z fold once the prices drop
Can the S9 get security updates and is it worth buying considering its almost the end of 2023 and would it last a good few years as a main phone. Thank you
I just upgraded from the s9+ to the s22 Ultra. Had the s9 for 5 Years, edited all my videos on it but it just came down to bad battery life (getting like 2 hours on time) and 64gb internal storage was just too small even with the expandable storage. I wish they still had the expandable but thats why i got the 1TB on the s22 Ultra
@mohanadashraf2624 I would not have upgraded. There are many incredible things that I love with the new phone but I otherwise couldn't justify it financially
Mines almost 3 yrs in still works great. Got it ebay refurbished for $150. And when it comes to samsung no matter how new it is if it is an A model it will be garbage
DIY replaced my battery for £12. Also, I just put noble ROM (Android 14 & oneUI 6) on my S9+ ! A whole new lease of life. Slightly limited but decommissioning of 3G networks and the S9 4G modem seems to eat battery when outside. I think the need for a more efficient modem will lead to me upgrading.
The Galaxy S8 was the sexiest phone ever made when it was launched. The S9 uglied up the phone a bit with the fingerprint center in the back. The other phone that might compete was the Palm Pre, except that its build quality couldn't compare to the S8.
I still have my s9 Exynos variant. I'm using a custom rom (Noble Rom) and it is still giving me great performance. Just battery is terrible. I understand.
On everything I know I own a iPhone 14 Pro Max and the brightness and resolution of the gs9 looks better still. One of best phones I ever had , battery life just sucks.
Let's ignore the fact thatits way out of date and if hackers do get into the old non supported version of Knox, you're fucked beyond belief if you have banking or any personal info
Try out the Exynos 9810 variant. You will have a different opinion on that. I still daily one after 5 years and it is almost unusable because of its power hungry cpu. :D
Try flashing LineageOS. I don't daily drive my S9 anymore but I went back today to see if it would still be usable with Lineage, and I'd say it makes the phone a lot better. Battery drain isn't as bad and it doesn't heat up quite as much.
Old is gold

Unbelievable
One of the best phone ever
Way ahead of its time without any doubt!
Great video, keep it up. Note 9 is still one of my all time favorites. Was my first note and the legend continues with my s22u
It does have fast charging tho
I love your detailed videos about smartphones and how you even review phones from yesteryears. Keep up the good work

Worth splurging $85 for this?
Sd845 with 4/64gb
I got myself s20 fe for $90 with good battery and all, so...nope. S10/note10 with SD 855 is the minimum, older ones not worth it
