Who cares if this is exactly the right tempo? I am amazed at how beautiful the performance is. I love hearing such a wonderful piece of music performed by an amazing musician.
@TheEBKJ I can't remember too well because I posted that comment over 4 years ago. However, at the time I remember that this was one of my favorite pieces, and that I had listened dozens of different recordings and compared all of them, and I guess based off of that, I concluded that this one wasn't good. I still think it's a fairly weak performance compared to others, but it's really not bad. I think the "sloppiness" I was referring to was in the orchestra and the 16th notes not being precise
not too keen on them using a conductor, even if it is zubin mehta. though it depends whether they wanted it to be an authentic performance or not though.
That's pure conjecture on your part. They may have very well played this music better and faster than we do today. Keep in mind that this was high art music and pop music back in the day.
How disappointing, one would think that with two great artists such as Zukerman and Mehta collaborating this would be awesome, but it's kinda sloppy. And what do the flowing streams have to do with this piece? This piece is about a storm.

@vernonmoreaux It's not really necessary to insult someone because they have an opinion that varies from yours.
Zuckerman - longtime advocate for the performance of baroque music on period instruments.

No is a violin, but his sound it's bigger than the cello and viola together :_O
@AbsoluteZ3R0 Can you elaborate? What do you dislike about this?
I prefer the solist to play along with first violin.
@mr00aznkid Interesting. Where does he deviate from the orch?
It annoys me that he doesn't play with the orchestra.
apart from him not playing with the orch all the time.
