I absolutely love the window playstyle and REALLY don't want a maintenance buff. If mongoose became a maintenance buff, I feel like it would make MB a "required" talent, since it has no playstyle difference from raptor strike. As a window playstyle, I feel like MB is not required, but a preference, at the cost of minimal damage loss. Your example of the new rotation actually got me excited to play the new SV hunter, and I already know how I'm gonna make my tip of the spear weakaura (whole different issue). With all this said, I do think they should revert the mongoose fury duration, or at least make it 12 seconds.
If the buff was extended, like you suggested, I would be happier with the current version. 🙂 My whole issue with this current re-rework, is that the buff is now only 10sec… and then Bloody Claws has “replaced” the 4 sec that was removed… Instead of simply adding Bloody Claws as a fun mechanic to Mongoose Bite, to make it fun, they instead just swapped one bad thing out for another. 😕 Had they just made Bloody Claws a thing, on top of the 14 sec Mongoose Bite, I would have been happy 👍 But as it is currently, they just made Mongoose Bite worse with the default version, and force us into spending another talent, JUST to make it the same as in Dragonflight… 🤕
On a side note, after playing with new Sv, i HATE this new tip mechanic that forces me to spam KC non stop like a bm hunter and ontop of that KC does no dam as SV
It’s a mix between the NE barber tattoos, and the Blood Troll chest piece reward from the Trading Post. 🙂 So unfortunately it’s unobtainable atm, until it appears again.
One of the "Soft skills" that are not obvious at first glance in SV is that the skills that increase focus over a time range that can make more MB's possible are also functionally nerfed by CD's we now have to spend so the get in get out playstyle I found fun to cheat at mob/boss ground effects with are now missing. The uncontrolability was the problem not the fact we could do it. Similar to a reverse DK grip taking away the utility of in out makes us less. We don't have the focus boosters of a rouge in our builder/spenders windows are more important to use and high movement mobs/bosses or high movement M+ runs make us risky to bring.
For the most ppl was only the animation inportent, because with the maintance buff we get only 3 stacks... the old Version of mongoose fury doesnt fit to the New survival. The only way is if wereduce the stacks to 3 again and the dmg increases per stack instead of 15% to 25% So we can ramp up much fester
I haven’t seen a blue post on these changes, but if the changes are beta right now, then I will check it out after I get home from work 🙂 because this sounds like a big improvement.
@@WhoaWhatDidYouSay It is live on beta as well now. 🙂 From what I tested, while recording a video on it, this is a big improvement. It still has that "back and forth" weaving playstyle, between Mongoose Bite and Kill Command, that some people hate... But the issue where Mongoose Fury felt like it ran out WAY too fast, has been improved massively. 🙂 With the buff at 5 stacks, we can now get out 5-7 Mongoose Bites, where as before today, it was between 2-3 Mongoose Bites at 5 stacks.
Survival was actually fun to play for most people, it was mostly the defensives and damage tuning that needed fixing. Now we have a clunky, un-fun spec, that lost a lot of utility and gap closers. Losing serpent sting will sting down the road. Having no single shot that you shoot over and over again (serpent sting/arcane shot for others) to pick out certian mobs like for skinning, or cosmetic farming is probably the worst thing. I have a feeling we will end doing more damage but it will not be as fun or useful anymore.
you are absolutely right, its worse now because of the synergy of all the other abilites its contrary to a fluent playstyle - i would appreciate the the "rework" - to maintain a given buff
But that is braindead. It might aswell not exist then. Just play raptorstrike if you dont like how mongoose bite works. It is literally the iconic mechanic of survival. And, honestly, the way it has been and will be tuned, you dont even play around mongoose fury windows
i think / hope they are still trying to figure out what to do with mongoose bite. Thats why we get some changes on it. I dont think they going to do anything on the hero talents anymore. I think hunters herotalents need some work though
I personally think Explosive Shot is the most fun spell SV has atm. So I’m loving that they made it a core part of the spec. 🙂 But it does of course also mean that it becomes a con for people who doesn’t like the whole “grenadier” fantasy SV is leaning into…
@@KroesGaming well from an arena perspective, I love it. but I also think they should force us to spec into mbite IF we want to. meaning on our spec tree set up a multipoint node that buffs mongoose bite immensely, but, make us pay for it immensely this means that the node would be a 5 pt node. and each point would buff mbite 40%or something similar, such that you would be sacrifing the left bottom side of the spec tree.
Mongoose Fury was irrelevant to begin with outside of niche windows. You could have completly disabled the stack count and it would have been less than 1% of a difference. Your misconception is that you focus on MB more than you should.
You can probably just go fully into a explosive shot build instead, but until we have all tuning finalised, we won’t know how different in dmg it will be.
@@Bloodwine87 SV Hunter has always "technically" been melee, but not really in reality. 🙂 But to answer your question, going "full Explosive Shot build", isn't meant as "completely ignoring MB". But if I have to be honest... seeing that we need to weave Kill Command into all other spells as well, we might as well get the Bloody Claws talent, and commit to MB anyways, since the playstyle won't really change. Mongoose bite's biggest problem is that its very undertuned currently compared to bombs, ESPECIALLY since we have so many bomb and ES resets

Did these changes go live this morning? Because when I see streams that are 1 day old, they still have Mongoose Fury being on a 10 sec duration.

100% true
hmmm ot feels lile this version wants us to fish for explosive procs so we can fire of 3 explosives shots in a row for damage

lol i shred arms warriors Demon hunters in pvp purely from smashen MB does big damage and with ferocity pet u get alot of sustain healing

Excuse my ignorance but isn’t a full ES build with no melee abilities like MB just a ranged Hunter?
So a worse version of what MM can achieve in PvP…
