Welcome back to MarcelianOnline! We’ve gone on and tested the war within m+ rework with all the new affixes, how they interact and impact your dungeon runs and got a grasp of how punishing / rewarding they are. All these war within m+ changes are indeed a breath of fresh air and they will surely bring more people in the game mode. Let’s get into all the details for the new war within mythic plus :)

It’s nice to think that Peril will force people to get good but sadly I don’t see that as happening. I think all it is going to do is make M+ (especially pugging) more toxic. Add that to the forced tyrannical and fort in higher keys and I foresee a bunch of dead keys and rage quitters. Sorry but there is little good I see in these changes. I challenge anyone to convince me these changes are good.
So the problem is not the game or its changes. is the people who play it.
@@jmtf1654 To a large degree yes, but making changes that will only exacerbate that behavior is on the developer.
EDIT: And all that aside, the changes just aren’t good as is. Losing 15 seconds on deaths as well as including that time penalty on top of forced tyrannical + fortified in higher already difficult keys is not conducive to maximizing M+ participation. If they go live with these changes, the vast majority of players will stop at key lvl 6 because 7+ will scare them off.
Imagine if they give the option to choose which affix we want and in return will give less vs more time on the timer/+- rewards etc.
After the arms buff we are so back, we packing that massive aoe stuns as well so let's gooooo!!! Colossus is back!

I agree that the +7 affix might make people play more defensively (even paladins I hope) but I'm a bit worried that it could get really toxic in PUGs where people leave even sooner now when they see anyone die ... I hope I'm wrong though
I have nothing bad to say about this change. It is great, I'm very happy for it. They hit this one out of the park. If they can finish the beta strong by hitting the rest of the specs that need help this could end up really good.
It isn't good at all. No one on the beta is liking it. The orbs from Xal spawn in the mechanics and get people killed for it. The last boss of Grim Batol is a massive problem when this affix goes off during his intermission
If they remove key depletion it will be great right now the system is still problematic

"Not timing the key" lol, you ain't gonna finish the key if one wipe happens because toxic players just leave. This affix just gives them even more reason to just leave a key.

What would be a good class for a new player to get into/learn M+? the player likes warlock and shaman.
Steer them away from both tbh. Shaman is just depressing regardless of spec. Lock will be forced into just one subspec regardless of how the other two look.
Mage, hunter and shadow priest are safe choices if said friend wants to be at range.
I really like sp while leveling but I keep seeing that it is really really not fun on anything m+ below like 18+ keys?
Cliche as it is tell them to pick whatever class/spec they enjoy playing the most. People are far more likely to learn something they really enjoy compared to learning something they don't.

We don't know yet, they will likely tune rewards based on key difficulty

Can I ask a dumb question? If you want all the variety of a +9 but with higher challenge, why not do it with worse gear? Would anyone want to watch high-end gamers playing a +9 with Explorer gear?
The extra penalty on death is going to be horrible for people who pug alot, and make groups even more toxic. I think itvis naive to think that people will just suddenly play better.

Just take away key depletion and players will be more than willing to play even with shitty affixes. This way you can also try new things (affixes etc) without having extreme backlash from people who feel like a harder affix is a waste of their time
I think you're take on having both fortified and tyrannical on 10+ is way off base. I have the opposite opinion that both parties win with this change. So you, and people you described who do not push high keys will still have one or the other rotating weekly for the highest gear reward, and the people who do push high keys only do not like these affixes because they mess with score and make some weeks worse than others. You said it yourself, Tyrannical and Fortified are irrelevant when you always have both active, it's just a scaling multiplier. Yea they could remove them but they want to increase difficulty. It's for the pushers who want the challenge and seasonal progression through key levels.
Anyone pushing 12 or higher, will have the exact same experience in each dungeon, every single week, for the whole season. That is the highlighted point. No more push weeks, no more dead weeks.

As a person who routinely pushes high keys i dont really like this change imo, m+ felt really refreshing ever since it started especially with varying affixes and yes some affixes are worse than others but i play m+ because its one of the few pieces of end game content that feels like it actually changes yknow, raids are always the most fun until youve run it all the way up to mythic or heroic for some guilds and put it on farm then its just the same fights same thing over and over(pls make raid affixes blizz), while m+ dungeons are some of the most fun for me and my guildies as you are forced to take a dungeon in a new way, new pulls, changing talents ,etc. Having the same affixes throughout the ENTIRE season just because a handful of high performance pros only want to puish certain affix combinations is really unfair to those that liked the variation, now pushing high keys just sounds boring as hell. like we are never going to be the #1 competitive spot on our server or leader boards because thats taken up by people who make this stuff their job we may be in the top yknow 30ish on our server but theres nothing to really be gained there and the desire to push will be totally killed really early in the season i feel imo as whats the point in going for super high keys and the challenge after a certain point cause its not going to change at all and itll be just like raids where eventually youre just putting shit on farm and leaving it.
Boring part about this: if you're above 12, literally nothing changes the whole season

But this will be only BS weeks now xd tyran is suck, but with forti is more sucker, and now we have a +20% hp and dmg buff on all enemys (thrash&boss) its a fcking bullshit xddd
Kiss-curse is wonderful, but please do not tie it up to AoE stops.. We are trying to get AWAY from that meta. Not doubling down on it!
Keep tyrannical and fortified, and do away with all the other affixes. Honestly, I dont think I know anyone in game that finds affixes fun. Theyre annoying and tedious, and the new ones will end up the same. It was a good run, but the affix system is getting dated imho.
Yeah I think we need difficulty progression like in portals in d3
there always needs to be a challenge otherwise it's free loot, but agree, maybe we need a more up to date version of it instead of affixes
I've played since the beginning and was happy when m+ came out. I did challenge modes when they were a thing, it tickles my competitive nature. Furthermore, I like affixes, and many people I know do too. This is going to be Heroic plus I fear, and for a lot of people, it takes the fun out.
Without affixes you will be bored after 2 weeks and you will start complain.
Well these are nothing new and I haven't been playing WOW for half a year now.
I have a different view of the new affix, I do not like when you get an affix that you have to interact with and that takes you out of the focus you have on the fight and your rotation. A lot of pug groups are too braindead to bring skills to counter those affixes and it becomes hell to interrupt the specific target you want when you start making really big pulls

@@MarcelianOnline No! I just cleansed spirits two weeks ago. I'm the #2 healer on my server and doing high keys with lazy people.
Great.. being forced to play the same exact affixes every single dungeon because i dont do low keys... this shit is sadly the worst ive ever seen for the health of M+. I wont play 4 weeks that i'll be bored or wont have anything more to do.

The challenge to a viewer needs to be visible and not assumed, in a sense
Also eliminates the desire to upgrade gear. Not proactive. Not much will change overtime which will lead to it feeling like a dead mode once the absolute perfect route is done and perfected.
