Just hearing that pulsing intro, it's 1972 and I'm suddenly 11 again, heading down to the town to get my Partridge Family bubblegum cards and hang out at the record shop...the town's still there but everything else has gone - except in my memory. Cassidy had a voice way beyond our expectations of the average heart-throb - and just imagine what it was like for him living out that insanity. Great piece of work left behind from more innocent days.
Totally agree. I was 10 or 11 too. My first love. My first single I ever bought. I won't ever forget the way this intro affected me such pangs of emotion it literally hurt. What a voice what a face. This song yes I agree makes you feel that age again. I can't imagine any other artist having such an effect on me and millions of other girls. Such a shame he battled with alcohol and got so ill and it finally got the better if him. I hope he knew in his last days how much he meant to his fans. He left a great legacy.
I was 8 years old and loved this song. It wasnt cool to be a Cassidy fan so had to play the record secretly lol. I was a big Bay City Rollers fan at the time, but really I just loved music.
The man had a voice. An absolutely amazing and beautiful voice. And he wasn't bad to look at either. RIP, David. You're missed today and will be forever.
I grew up in the 70's. I didn't watch the Partridge Family until the 80's in syndication. I do remember hearing "I Think I Love You" on the radio, but never knew who sung it. I was born in 1966 and there was no internet. I loved that song. I longed for a girlfriend and in elementary school never had one. High school was my coming out. But the song still resonated. It wasn't until RUclips came online that I was able to 'reconnect' with songs that meant something to me that I was able to 'reconnect'. In addition to that fact, I was able to find songs, like this one, that were done but never knew they were there. I love this version and have it on my jukebox. I never saw David Cassidy in concert and now wish I had. At least he is on my jukebox, "I think I love you", "I woke up in love" and this song "How can I be sure".
His death was a slow process it seems... idols and addictions.... alas....can ruin very gifted men. May he rest in peace with God....in the arms of Jesus...🎶🙏
I grew up watching this beautiful man on the Partridge Family show I loved David Cassidy he’s got the most amazing and beautiful voice and I love him and miss him. 😢❤❤❤❤
I remember growing up in New York going to from the 7th grade and 6th grade running home to my home in Corona Queens and hearing the girls we will stop by the little candy stores all over the place and running with the group of girls from my class and other guys and we will just carrying our books and running and playing with each other and I will see the girls stop at the stands looking at David Cassidy magazines and Partridge family and gawking over them I used to be so jealous
RIP you lucky man,I’m 63 now, still thinking your voice is fantastic,by the way I’m a heterosexual male, makes me feel young again.the 70s were the best, you were a big part of it and always will be,🤐
Love this song - reminds me when I was 13 and ioved David Cassidy - still love his music today - it takes me back to my childhood and makes me laugh and cry! Oh to be 13 again.
David had such a young teenage type voice to me , anyway, I'm sure he could lead me anywhere he wanted. Such a unique beautiful voice no one can copy him EVER...Love his voice, his personality after I read about him.
First version of this song I ever heard back in '72 and my favorite to this day. It's a cover, but the arrangement is completely different. And the ending is incredible--those descending chords--the emotion it evokes.
I was about 13 when the Rascals had their hit with this beautiful song. I'll always be partial to their version but Cassidy does it good! Strong voice!
I don't know who sang this wonderful song first Rascals or David Cassidy. Both versions are beautifully sung and almost identical. However I always know it as sung by David Cassidy. Love the Partridge Family and all the songs. All those guys did a great job as a young group performance. I have the series and the CD. Just love those voices and music performed by such young people of the time. God bless them.❤️👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
Thank you Mr Cassidy I know you were a swell person but life really takes a hold of us and I would know I seen your interviews how people try to be raid you and how you handle it when you're a real or a kind person with people always take advantage of you thank you Mr Cassidy for the good times and the beautiful moments that I heard through my ears from others in the 7th grade and growing up
No matter what angle you come from, this guy had a real blast in life, he had the girls swooming all over him, money and fame. He had a good life for sure,
When David Cassidy passed away his last words were it was all a waste of time and he meant it pause you can see it through his demeanor when he was interviewing people try to trash him he was very well-behaved behave when his mother died and that was the end of his him right there convert 18 hours a day when he was young he had time for nothing just to be that idol you know and look what happened his family that's why you got to be careful with families I have the same thing families will destroy you if you're not where if you don't be careful
The girls used to be talking about day and night in class and in lunch room and it was just fun watching them because they were so into it and I would make fun of them and and look at that I realized that David Cassidy is one of a kind he was I need a number on him to his producers like they've done to badfinger and all these other bands over there they destroy them and you know look at him when he died
Unfortunately Dave eventually detested his teenybop following. Not the fans but the image. He wanted rock recognition. Looking back he was an outstanding vocalist. Best wishes 🇬🇧 🤝 🇺🇸
When David Cassidy what is his height with the Partridge family I was in I was 13 years and I saw the girls going crazy buying the the the the the the the the the the the book in literature at the candy store in New York City every time we went going home we'd be stopping by and you can see the girls talking about David 😊 I was actually jealous when we were walking home and the sidewalk in New York going home or the girls will stop at the I will buy comics they will buy David Cassidy and talking about David Cassie how cute he is I was so jealous little did I know that I really play David Cassidy but I was living in a different world where you know violence and other stuff was happening to me and you know what but as I got older and I see now he was a very good person he loves his mom and he was just love life I can tell they try to trick him on live TV get to him but you know what I know what that's like cuz I went through it myself I know what a divorce will do to you it will take the heart out of a man and destroy them because men love women don't

It hurts doesn’t it ? ❤
Makes me feel happy and sad, all at the same time.

Beautiful man, beautiful voice, the best hair. 💗
Underappreciated because he was on a TV sitcom much like the Monkees. He had a distinctive and captivating voice. Gone too soon.
I like his voice so much still in 2021 and he was so beautiful in his prime. Unforgetable. RIP David Cassidy
His death was a slow process it seems... idols and addictions.... alas....can ruin very gifted men.

Great song by one of the milestones of popular music...David Cassidy was one of the most talented singers of the 70s...
Thank you, Life On Mars, for introducing me to this beautiful song from the 1970's

Summer of 1972! Five years after the Young Rascals recorded the song.
Reeelly
I actually love David Cassidy's rendition of this song.
This came out in the fall of 1973 I never heard it on the radio in 1972

I love this song although it makes me feel sad as David is no longer with us. RIP David Bruce Cassidy.

How can anyone be sure anymore?
His Dad was Jack Cassidy. Brilliant.
Shi
Jack was better looking
Who's that? Never heard of jack
Nice. "You know where I can be found"
He wanted so much to be considered a talented artist instead of an aging teen idol.
No matter what angle you come from, this guy had a real blast in life, he had the girls swooming all over him, money and fame. He had a good life for sure,
Hermosa cancion 😍❤
Amazing. And considering he was an alcoholic since his late teens.
I am 100% Sure I love you😂😂❤❤

originally recorded by the Young Rascals 1967 and done by a few others after that but David's version stands heads and tails above the rest 👊
I can't believe he's dead.

As good as the Young Rascals' version was, David Cassidy gets the gold ring for this performance with studio help from "The Wrecking Crew".

Better than Dusty
Not as soulful as the lead singer of the rascals for this song
Not the soul like voice as the lead vocalist of the rascals
