Cant knock this starter set,my 14 yr old son got one from me which he did from a tutorial from youtube. Now hes hooked on the hobby. I did give him a decent brush set.
Honestly you get better options in this then then one i got recently. it was the Ultramarines Flamer squad with the Tryanid cannonfodder sqaud (Mixed gaunts and Rippers) and i didnt get much in the way of painting. got five paints that barely added up to all the colors between thoose two groups let alone one, including the bases. cant really complain though, im getting into the miniature smore for the painting aspect then anything else, plus i was gonna paint both Squads in other colors i dont even have yet so. all and all if you want the set i got for truely starting out in the game its self id say its alright, comes with a handbook, a spacing ruler, some dice, etc. but yeah dont expect to be painting your squads you get like you see on the front these boxes, thoose are just there to sell you into the idea of painting your like that....at some point
If you got that box, i think it's the introductory set, i recommend buying a paint set i really enjoy, it's the warpaint fanatics starter set, all of the paints you'll need to start
I am new to the hobby as well. The Introductory Box that has marines and tyranids, and also paints and clippers, for $50 seems like a much better deal than either of the $30 space marine or tyranid boxes like this.
I agree with Rockinglans! A wet pallet is a game changer! Do keep in mind that you can always do your own and experiment with it first. It is quite easy!
I’m into painting different types of thinks masks especially but just picked up this kit to try out painting models. Always like the marines . I don’t have a spray primer is that really necessary? So you can build those without gluing? What’s a wet pallet exactly?
Yes you can assemble them without glue, but the gaps will seal better if you use glue :) Priming will give you a more homogenous base to your minis. I strongly recommend that you do prime them. I think your idea is quite a good one, so as I learn how to play 40k, I could also make a video about it. Good place to start is the well, Starter Set (no big surprise haha). Contains 2 armies so you can play with a friend and have options to paint. Just buy the paints you need imo, most paint sets have a weird selection so you're not saving much if you won't use them all.

You might be right! I paid like 24 euros for this one. Around 26 usd
Nice thanx for the vid, i bought this set this weekend and do some practice at the moment with a free figure. Maybe i'm going to buy a wet pallet.

They suck, they are usually pretty old, so you get dried out and separated paints. Better off buying paints and mini's separately.
The brush is complete garbage too.
Are they really old? This is a 10th ed product. released in 2023. Did you get dried out paints with it?
@@dreadtrain2846 Not the best one for sure, not the worst citadel brush I have used (like the flat dry brush... that one really is crap beyond belief)
