    ORD is the real deal. Their parts are well designed, well built, and perform as advertised. Their customer service is the best I've ever experienced with any company, period. Whether you're calling to order parts, need some advice, or help with a problem, somebody competent will help you, going all the way up to the guy that designed the thing if necessary. I've talked to Stephen a couple of times on the phone over the years, and he is a genuinely great guy with a passion for offroading and an encyclopedic knowledge of this stuff. I can't recommend them highly enough.

    I’m upgrading my 81 K5 from stock everything basically. I’m pretty set on keeping my axles and going to 4.10 Detroit lockers to go from 33s to 35s since I need new tires and the power/torque seems pretty low at low rpms. I think a good next step might be your transfer case option. I hope pricing will be available soon. Listening to you fellas is keeping me motivated and on track. Thanks for the words of hard earned wisdom!

    • @drumdude68

      None, however they are going into heavier trucks than the Jeeps they were removed from, so torque stress will be amplified.

    I ordered a 205 with a magnum under drive a couple of months ago. Also ordered a front locker for my GM d60 gears front and back plus a bunch of other stuff…Anyway I love the design and quality they put into their products. I think I spent around 10g this go around. About 8 years ago I got my hydro assist and cross over steering as well as some other items. I love their products. I’m preluding with this because I don’t want to come off as a complainer. Merrick I have a few questions for you.
    1. Did your twin stick boot and magnum boot come in different shades of black? My twin stick boot came flat black and my magnum boot came shiny black.
    2. Did your 205 magnum come with studs? Mine didn’t and I just used the original bolts from the 208.
    3. You said you didn’t clock your transfer case. With all the holes in the magnum how did you know what orientation was “unclocked” I just kind of stuffed mine in there with out any real direction, which I can see was pretty ignorant of me. I took a screen of your studs mounted on yours. Was that the orientation you mounted yours?
    4.I started doing my own gears about 15 years ago and wrenching on motors since I was a teenager, but I never had a 205 or wrenched on any transfer case for that matter. How did you know how to mount the fittings and clear tube? Mine didn’t come with any instructions. It with instructions for the linkage, which I thought was pretty self explanatory…but I’m sure someone might think the fittings and clocking orientation is self explanatory as well🤷‍♂️
    I have the same dash from DIY4X as you and I went with some auto meter gauges. When I did that I had to run a mechanical to digital adapter at the 208 transfer case. Now my adapter doesn’t fit. Did you have this issue and if you did how did you solve it? Sorry to bombard you with all these questions. I emailed Offroad Design 5 days ago with these same questions and they have yet to get back to me.

    • @87K5BLAZER
      @87K5BLAZER 3 года назад

      Ok I figured out the clear tube is just a sight tube for the oil level…lol like I said I never had a 205.

      @@MerricksGarage hey bro I’m trying to install the sight tube for the magnum. Based off your vid… do I need one or can I just put X amount of gear oil? Also does it matter where you put the oil in on the magnum?

    • @MerricksGarage
      @MerricksGarage  3 года назад

      I pretty much filled mine and drove it. Make sure you have catch cans attached as both the magnum and case will puke a lot of fluid before they settle.

    40:00 - my $.02; we’re not buying as much if anything at all from China anymore and China isn’t buying crops from us; therefore all the
    parts that we used to have access to we no longer have access to. Thanks to “new policies,” production of those parts is going to be punished by higher taxes as opposed to being rewarded with profit.
