Oh man you didn't take the ramp to Sixth Street! That was what I thought to be the most spectacular ending for I-280 in my opinion, and even way better at night! Still, this was a pretty good capture of the freeway. :)
I’d get off on Paige Mill road. And if I wanted to go to Frisco, I always avoided 101 with 280. Such a beautiful freeway! You just gotta watch out for the CHP. A lot of people go way over 100 MPH, and they hide on the on-ramps
Thank you Justin for watching! I feel bad that your video had gloomy weather, but hey as you said it presented a nice touch. I think that the marine layer added something special to today :)
The fastest I ever went in my Eclipse was on this freeway. 135. I was going all out, hit redline, then slowed down… LOL fastest I’ve ever driven. It was a GS-T model (like fast and furious)
Great video but I do have a couple of corrections... * At 5:24, you show a concurrency of I-280 and Route 35 starting at Edgewood Rd but that concurrency doesn't start until the Bunker Hill Rd interchange some 5 miles further north. * At 5:36, that is not a Runaway Truck Ramp. It is, in fact a closed Vista Point.
Oh dang thanks dude! Idek where the CA-35 figure came from right there, looking back, and I figured it was a truck ramp as it wasn't signed and in the middle of the mountains. I can't believe you're the first person in a year to catch... or tell me anyway... these errors.
No problem. I'm quite familiar with I-280 so alot of this stuff is stuck in my head. I just watched the video again and noticed one more error. I-280 never connected to I-80 at the Bay Bridge. It was supposed to but was never built. The only freeways demolished as a result of the '89 quake were CA-480 and the double-deck portion of US 101.
Did you know that Wolfe Road at the I-280 got reconstructed?! Go check it out on Google Maps if you don’t believe me. (Construction is unfinished, might finish in 2022)
Interstate 280 is my #1 most favorite Interstate highway ever! 🛣
It's quite impressive to have covered the whole stretch in one video, amazing work on this! The most scenic urban freeway in the country!
Thanks Kyle! And yes it lives up to its name!
Love this highway!
I have actually done this drive the same as your video with my Dad. Driving up to san francisco on 280 is a long freeway ride.

Very nice and busy road :) Thumbs up and Greetings from Ireland! :)
Holy shit. This was my commute for years, to Palo Alto!!!! I know this like the back of my hand.

A music video ... a documentary ...what isn't a RUclips showpiece like this?!
Nice work, IJD! And thx for driving.
Thank you!
Quite nice, glad you got to capture all of I-280 in one go. That marine layer was quick, otherwise you got perfect weather that day.

:P oops. I'm much more knowledgeable about Texas freeways though, haha.

2. Madeon - Zephyr
For future reference, that is always in the end credits every video.
