UE5 update is making a whole new game bro, I'm a 3D game artist, converting UE4 files to UE5 is not as easy as copying a folder.
They can do that, but that's just like Steam game dev making CSGO into CS2.

I know it's not easy to change the game engine, but there's been talk for a long time about an update, not a 'PUBG 2.' If it can be as simple as completely changing the game's root on steam, it would obviously be like downloading a new game. However, the platform would still show the same title, similar to what happened to some extent with Fortnite and the RT update.

UE5 is not possible man, it's like making a whole new game.
@@adriandevri4902 they are currently working on it. They mentioned it briefly in the roadmap for this year.
@adriandevri4902 obviously you don't follow PUBG all that much then huh? They have already specifically stated quite a awhile ago (a year or so ago) that they were going to try to port over one of their maps to UE5 and if it was fairly easy they were going to port the entire game over to it. You do realize it's already on UE4 right? So it's not at all starting over from scratch by any means at all. They stated they would be porting the entire game over to UE5 quite a few months ago but have been silent ever since. I would assume that's cause they want things to be a surprise to us and not release any kind of spoilers up until this video. This definitely doesn't look like the old videos and definitely doesn't look like any maps we currently have. It resembles some yes but it looks a lot better which leads me to believe this is either a new map or it's remade maps in UE5. Do some research on your own if you don't believe me and argue with Google over it cause I'm not making any of this up. PUBG themselves said they were going to port the game over to UE5 and since it's already on UE4 it's not all that hard to do. Sure it will take work but it will be worth it.
