  • @pIayingwithmahwii
    @pIayingwithmahwii 4 месяца назад +11

    I mean based on how poorly homelander handled his actual job (taking out the bad guys and saving people) I highly doubt he’d be capable enough to gently guide the plane without it accidentally jerking too quickly and the plane crumples around him like Maeve with that car or van in episode one, or even if the plane itself stays in tact half the passengers end up bisected by their seatbelts from stopping too abruptly for regular humans, or something, idk

    He could of perhaps done something, but the risk would be if he fucked up it would look really bad on him.. Even if he could glide the plane, there's no way he could land it.. there's no one in the cockpit to slow it, even hitting water at that speed would crush it.

    Yea, that idea was pretty common when the episode aired, the guide the plan as it descends. I think he quite clearly could do that, but he's not actually a strategist beyond basic cunning. He didn't care enough to find a solution, he was panicking about the fall out from Corporate Mommy for failing his mission, and he's not really a creative problem solver.

    Like Cannon, I was waiting for Carter to see that plane scene. It's one of the scenes in season 1 that stands out the most. The discussion about the things Homelander could've tried to save the passengers, that's what a lot of people on the internet were talking/arguing about after this first season dropped. Him trying nothing was fitting though. It seems like you guys watched this after GoT 3x9, so that's interesting, can't wait for that reaction tomorrow!

    Remember that the foil of the wings are interrupted by the flaps at the back. No controls causes those to drop and push the plane down, so even if he guided the front, h3 would have been fighting that.

    • @joeymedina7115
      @joeymedina7115 4 месяца назад

      Could he have manually adjusted the flaps?

    • @DrewsterRooster37
      @DrewsterRooster37 4 месяца назад

      @@joeymedina7115 definitely not from the outside. There's at least 30 feet between both flaps on the wings, with the turbines in between them, meaning Homelander would have to fly quickly between the two in order to combat gravity pulling them down, most likely causing the plane to wobble, and eventually tilt beyond saving. There's another 60 feet back to the tail, which Maeve could have operated, but with Homelander unable to control the wings, it wouldn't have meant much. If one was on either wing, they would have to bend them in sync with each other, but it would most likely spiral rather than turning back to land and go into the ocean. If Homelander and Maeve broke down into the cargo hold beneath, they might have been able to operate the flaps through the axles and cables, but ultimately, none of it would have mattered once the engines were no longer regulated and started losing fuel. They would have been stranded in the ocean, and with the door ripped off, they couldn't remake an airtight seal to keep it from sinking. No matter what they did, without the cockpit, that plane was toast.

    Levitation doesn't make sense to begin with, you have to push air the opposite direction to levitate or you must be thinner than air in order to float. But if I had to make sense of it, he could probably lift his weight and maybe like a couple more people's but definitely not the weight of a plane or anything like that because that would require an insane amount of force in the opposite direction.
