- At 9 am Thursday morning Caney Creek Fire responded to a reported major accident at FM 3083 and FM 1485. Reports showed a motorcycle had been run over by an 18-wheeler. Units arrived on the scene to find a male deceased. DPS is investigating the crash. A preliminary report was the 18-wheeler bulk tank truck was traveling north on FM 1485/3083. Due to the narrow intersection and the extreme ditch drop-off, along with highway signs and signal control boxes close to the road edge, trucks are forced to turn wide in the turns. The truck driver had his right turn signal on. As he went wide and started his turn the 2023 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by a 64-year-old Kingwood resident tried to go around the right side of the truck to continue straight on FM 3083. The motorcycle struck the truck tire which caused the bike and rider to go down. The motorcycle driver was ejected from the bike and struck by the truck's trailer. The motorcycle became hung on the landing gear of the trailer. The truck continued about 100 feet before realizing what had happened. DPS Commercial Vehicle Troopers inspected the truck and trailer and found no faults. No charges are being filed as the truck driver is not showing at fault. The intersection reopened close to noon. A DPS Trooper responded to Kingwood to notify the next of kin.
Prime example of don’t be in a hurry and don’t pass a truck on the right side
With it`s turn signal blinking.....
Prime example of a motorcycle is no match for an 18 wheeled tanker.
I agree bikers think they can live that one percent law..and gravity shows that it's 100 percent..I bet this biker was hauling ass too thinking he could beat that truck ..how else u end up getting dragged 100 feet
It’s not always the bikers fault. Have you seen the way people drive in their vehicles talking on their phones or stereo blaring??
Prime example of an impatient careless moto rider who lacked situational awareness because they're so pre-occupied with going fast all the time, and goose'n the throttle so they can show off their loud-a$$ aftermarket exhaust....macho Harley riders, especially.
I also am 64 years old and recently gave up riding a motorcycle after many years. Your senses just aren't as sharp & it just takes a second to misjudge a common rule of the road. As Clint Eastwood said 'Man's got to know his limitations'
Right there with you my friend.
Rode for 25 years safely with a few close calls not my fault.
I’m 64 now and stopped riding 7 years ago.
My sight and confidence just wasn’t the same as it was. I figured it’s been great. Had some amazing rides around the country with great friends.
But I didn’t want to make a mistake that caused me great harm or death .
I have a lot left to do yet.
Do I miss it
Absolutely!!!
Yeah man
I agree. I’m 68 and also stopped riding just a few years ago. Same reasons you gave. >40K miles ridden; no accidents; all touring miles, much of it two-up, all over the country. I just believe it’s like they say, it’s not IF you’ll have an accident, but WHEN. I just felt like the eventuality would happen some day, if I kept on. I had great rides, great experiences, met lots of fun people.
Old farts scared about losing their lives, when you were young you didn't care😂
@@dr.jiIIaIicecooper2587
You couldn’t be more wrong… That’s why I survived riding for 25 years because I cared about myself and my family. Realizing when I wasn’t as sharp as I was is just being smart.
Well I'm thinking he finally learned NOT to pass on the right!! RIP 🙏 CONDOLENCES TO ALL 🙏
"The HARD way."
What an ass comment.
This doesn’t apply to every motorcycle driver, but I’ve observed many of them having no patience on the roadway and they speed around in an aggressive manner and take off like they own the road or as if they are so cool. They don’t look cool at all, they look irresponsible and reckless. It’s not smart, cars are bigger, it’s just not smart.
My heart goes out to the family that got the news today. So sad.
@TRC_WANo wheelies, under 90mph, BORING🥱
Damn I hate to see this.. RIP brother
Wow. The bike doesn’t look that damaged.
It was the riders body that got damaged when the truck load he was pulling ran over it 😢
Biker was probably distracted trying to see if anyone was looking at his cool Harley.
🙏 RIP MALE BIKER 🙏
Condolences to your family and friends at this difficult time. ✝️😢😥
Help the family lord
Just slow down and pay attention people. Driving these big trucks in tight places is hard to do .
I have people in cars do this to me all the time when I try to swing wide for a right turn and they dart up next me even though I have 5 blinkers on showing I'm turning right
Motorcycle versus tractor-trailer not a good recipe for survival. Law of gross tonnage applies equally as well here as it does in shipping
Harley M8 held up pretty good.
@@textech4056 He did not though, he got squished like a tomato.
@@HiThere-jn9me Think you're right. They were hosing something off the road.
How gruesome! Feel sorry for the truck driver, even though it was not his fault he must feel horrible. Also sorry for the first responders who had to see that and for his family that received the bad news 😢
Also put into perspective… the rider probably didn’t have full gear on either. I see so many riders on Harley’s or cruisers with not even gloves or a helmet on smh. Dress for the fall not the ride is the golden rule no matter how skilled you are on a bike.
Full gear means nothing if the rear tandem uses one as a speed bump😢
@@57Jimmy true but gear is important either way next time driving count how many riders go past you with no gear or guys riding in flip flops..
Everyone with common sense knows that trucks have make wide right turns on some streets. When I see the right blinker on and the truck swinging to the left, I know what they are doing and always wait for them to make the turn.
GEEEZ!😢 LORD GIVE YOU STRONG STRENGTH AND COMFORT!!
This is why you dont undertake
My dad was killed in a motorcycle crash. He was a very conservative rider, and was the saftety officer in his club. No matter how careful you are, if you ride enough, sooner or later you're going to get hurt.
RIP and prayers for families and friends who will miss you. God bless.
Prayers for the family
Rider must of gotten squashed under some of those wheels
be careful out there.
Ex sponsored rider. While in my dirt racing years I went out with some friends on a borrowed ZX7 . All was good and fine, they stopped had cocktails/drinks, me as usual, POP when driving. We all leave and soon after saw a dude twitch, and bobble/mini tankslap over broken pavement in a long fast turn. Then in horrible slow motion, instead of heaving on bike for your life...
The kid, he crossed the line! Crap, head on into a semi. All I remember was a spray of parts/plastic and his white Converse shoes laced, flying past. It was bad. It was instant. and it taught me to always ride the inside. My Cousin has the other shoe, other buddie present has a sidepanel with FZR 600RR mounted in a display. And his dad had his remains buried in his 87 (i think)Hurst Olds
Ultimate sadness , two weeks later another from our group just riding in traffic, got hit by a turning garbage truck. It wasnt instant, it was terrible and it happened two blocks from my house..
My son died in a crash in San Antonio last week and I can’t find any news footage about it
Such a beautiful bike. I have been riding bikes for a long long time and i know this passion to ride. God has chosen his time long before his life has begun. My heart goes out to the family with much love and prayers to give strength and peacefulness through this difficult time.
Condolences for the victims family and friends, this is horrible. Your loved one is now with our Lord and there is no pain just love.
My condolences God be with the family ✝️ Rest in peace ✝️ All Gods angels are in Heaven ✝️🕊️🇺🇸
nonsence. hey why didnt god protect him ?
@@jerryeinstandig7996 Because God is no one's private bodyguard
Nice bike. Still ridable.
I used to drive these cement tankers, also petroleum tankers and low boys hauling heavy equipment. It was always a fear of mine that I'd be involved in an accident such as this. I felt like it would traumatize me . Knowing good and well the weight of what I'm driving and what it could do to a person. I feel sorry for the Rider and the driver.
Terrible
Such a horrible way but RIP to the motorcyclist and pray his can get through this.
I drove a truck for 20 years and I have had many people pass me on the right or try to pass as I was swinging left to turn right. Just can't wait. And it's getting worse, the streets are lawless now.
3 month old motorcycle???
Are Condolences to the family members . R,I,P thise motor cycle Rider need to be more carefully driving there bikes is more Unsafe especially when they are being precautions.
You cannot be Driving unsafe on a bicycle Drive is more on active high Risk to get into a tragedy.
New street bob RIP
Bike looks brand new
What no tank dent pic??
Oh how sad!!! People watch out for these bikers!! 💔😢
Never pass on the right.
I'm taking from the description that the Bike struck the Trailer at the rear tires the biker flew off the bike and was run over by the rear tires and the bike continued on striking the landing gear of the trailer where it became lodged and was dragged 100 feet.... Description never said the rear tires of the trailer ran over and crushed the Biker which is what I imagine happened.... Gotta pay attention people 🤷
Sad 😢😢
i was shocked a motorbike rider of that age would do something so stupid, but then i realized it was a Harley
Yup. Old boomer
So what happened?
He passed on the right and then what?
Did the truck go right ?
Did the bike hit the truck accidentally?
It don’t take much if u hit your head
Firefighter was spraying brain matter and organs into the ditch.
Figured that all out on your own, did you? And what made you decide to share your conclusions, which everyone with a brain already understood, with the www? Yes, validation. I thought so. A scourge upon our society.
Keep your graphic erections to yourself. It provides absolutely nothing of value, whatsoever, but COULD harm, say, one of his kids, or grandkids that stumbled across this video.
Note that the professional, this being Scott Engle, showed what had to be done at the scene? With OUT showing it. See, this way? Adults will understand how bad this was, maybe it will help others in the future to NOT cut inside a heavy semi, just because they have to made wide turns on tight roads, and will give them a bit of a memory trigger that will hopefully pop up, and keep them from making the same mistake.
Now, most grown-ups will have figured all this out on their own, and all normal people? Will have ZERO inclination to make the moronic comment you did. I'm guessing you probably used your other accounts to give yourself "likes", as well. Because most Americans? Don't share your moronic craving, to post something so utterly useless.
See, I'm ALL FOR showing horrific car accidents, because I KNOW they save lives. But these are to be watched, shock the uninitiated, who are clueless when it comes to just how powerful a weapon, and instrument of death a vehicle can be, when operated by fools, drunks, the easily distracted, and those who intentionally distract themselves, because they're "just so good at driving", they don't NEED to pay attention constantly.
This was an extremely valuable tool for the Highway Patrol. Sadly, however, it was people who felt the need to post garbage as you have, that had them mostly discontinue this life-saving measure.
Some folks just can't control themselves, or, worse, get off on posting things like you have.
So there ya go, Pal. Your utter idiocy has been recognized, commented on, and disliked. What, not the kind of attention or validation you were looking for?
IDGAF. Shaming works. It needs to make a massive return. Now, you probably won't feel shame, nor learn from my comment. That's ok, maybe someone else, who's still salvageable in the human soul department, WILL. And it will keep them from harming any innocents in the future, with their crass & unthinking comments.
Oh, btw? You CAN remove my comment? But just deleting your post. But understand this, you put it up again? I'll be here, doing this over and over and over and over again.
Because cringe like what you've done? Is gonna end- one way or another. I'll make sure of it. And all "haters" of people like myself? Have at it. I LOVE doing this - because I actually care about people, truth, and the American way.
THIS crap? Not American in the least- But you ARE entitled to say whatever you wish.
So am I.
Circle of Life
So edgy, you must be 12
At 64, the m/c driver should have known better.
I'm 65, a recently retired truck driver and I have a HD also. I find myself not wanting to ride as much due to the increased traffic and inattentive drivers. In this case, the rider owns this accident. Can't tell you how many times a four wheeler would come down my right side as I was going wide to make the turn. This trucker would have had 3 visible turn signal lights when viewed from behind the trailer, should he have had more? Prayers to the rider's family..
Most likely did not have a helmet on. Over the age of 21, a helmet is not required in the state of Texas, if the rider has completed a motorcycle rider safety course. How ironic, right ? Safety course, but no helmet law.....Not wearing a helmet is THE DUMBEST thing that a rider can ever do, while riding. There's nothing cool or stylish about being dead.
@@jojojayjay9617 yep
@@Hothenrik My bad. You know what I meant. I will fix it.
@@500erider just deleted my response. 😁👍
FD hosing down the fluids........Bike didn't look too bad but I'm sure the rider did.
Shut down all the roads in the county...that makes sense! Then all the police can watch each other for several hours.

Watched several moto fatal vids today for fun,man ,all these all knowing ,stating the obvious comments...sick of that, takin a break
Nice 1200 sportster. the hard to find one.

@@dr.jiIIaIicecooper2587 XR sportster...look at the tank. and handlebars. and high side exhaust.
The motorcycle rider played a game of find the “F” out and he sure did
Sad sad sad.
Harleys are the #1 death machine.
Why ?
Inexperienced, yet wealthy (if I can PAY for it I can ride it, right ?? or "weekend only" riders who lack the real world 🌎 bike handling skills that come ONLY by many miles & hours in the saddle
I ride nearly every good weather day & have learned survival skills.
From the printed accident summary, this rider unwisely & unsafely & illegally tried to pass this bulk tanker Semi on the Right, as it was turning right.
Basically he signed his own death warrant.
Ecercising cautious restraint is a KEY part of safely cycling, besides wearing helmet gloves boots & abrasion resistant jacket & pants.
But in some cases it matters not as the trauma exceeds what gear can protect from.
RIP to the rider & his family, in Jesus name ,!
Oof.
Where they washing blood off the road
Most likely
Quien la cago ayi ya mire el video de muchas formas pero quien se aventó sin luz para el
Was the Harley guy wearing his costume?
I notice you rank on Harley riders, their "costumes"..
Makes you look jealous and immature my friend.
We're all just trying to make it through this mean old world, like you
Take care dear, allowing that dark and mean whisper control you, will get you once it gets too much of your soul.
You are not a nice person.....😈
Are YOU wearing your costume?
To answer your question, he had on the appropriate gear but It didn’t matter after being crushed by a 10k pound trailer.
I’m not a Harley fan but to make fun of them only makes you seem small. The fact that your insult is about someone who died just makes you pathetic.
so the truck driver was making a right hand turn from the left hand lane of a double highway...thought that was illegal...
Ask any 18 wheel trucker... it's called a "buttonhook" and it's done all of the time. PAssing on the right hand side is illegal because of this reason. One checks for oncoming traffic, moves over to the left, and they turns right. The trucker (hopefully) had his turn signals on and the biker thought that the trucker was turning left I'd guess?
Why would think its illegal. ITs required for some turns unless you want the trailer to take out poles and utilities. Read the description. Police did investigation and driver not at fault
Well, you should probably take the drivers test again.
You missed the part about trucks making wide right turns.
There’s a plaque on the back of pretty much 99% of the trucks out there just as a reminder.
@@JimsEquipmentShed Swing WIDE it's a fricking trailer.
@@geek49203 He had his turn signal on, did you read the whole articles description?
The truck driver and his company may not be at fault criminally. but wait until it gets to civil court...probably worth millions to the deceased's relatives...//
Dang. So sad and avoidable. I give trucks plenty of room, they need a lot of it to maneuver those big trailers around. I would not want to end up like this, that would suck.
R.I.P., hope you're riding a gold straight-piped chopper up in Heaven!
