God I sometimes hate this comment section. I finish the video and scroll down to see nothing concerning the actual contents of the review. Well done review. Not very analytical, more like straight up fanboying but done in a way which makes me excited to listen to the album. You illustrated well what you got out of the album!
It's always a circle jerk of people making the same jokes that aren't funny... usually with the template: "Melon just because ___ doesn't mean you should have given the album a ___."
Who cares about being analytical. That’s what the review is for. I don’t think a single comment has ever changed my mind let alone life. Chill out and eat a crunchy taco from Taco Bell 😎
FINALLYYYY A REVIEW FOR THIS ONE!!! I had no idea how to feel on my first listen- it felt like such a warm and summery album, which contrasted the cold and loneliness that drew me in on Everything Harmony, but on the second listen, I was in love with it. Every track, every second, it’s just such a cathartic and beautiful record
Lemon Twigs releasing an album per year. Just like the old school bands used to do in the mid-late 60’s. Luv it. The ideas/songs are just pouring out of them right now.
@@Giggens what's your thoughts on electronic music as a whole? I feel it's a niche not many people can enjoy because it's probably the MOST SATURATED genre of music with meh tracks. But when tracks DO hit hard, they hit REALLY hard, right? What do you think of artists like Space Laces, etc? In experimental bass music, etc
This is a masterpiece of pure pop goodness. Some songs are growers rather than showers, but once you get into the groove, the melodies begin to stick like glue. The lyrics are generally sad but the (brilliantly crafted) arrangements are quite happy, waking that juxtapositional Wilsonesque sunshine from its hollows. John Lennon once declared that “the dream is over”, but now the D’Addario brothers are bringing it back to life, which is just what the world needed.
@@hippiecheezburger5457 it sounds more like The Turtles to me but unique enough that it doesn't recall any song specifically and Michael's vocals are distinctly His. Great song
it's a great album but their weakest imo. they can't make bad albums it seems. but i miss the wackiness and theatrical parts in this album. also miss Michaels weirder lyrics that before used to contradict the very hommage-esque 60's music. in this album it feels like they went 100% 60's in lyrics + arrangements. and I sorta miss when they put their more of their own twist on things. i get the feeling that they want to show they've grown up and can make more somber music. but in that they lost a bit of their playfulness and id. also these are Brian's weakest tracks on a record yet in my opinon. comparing it to Songs for the general public - where ALL of his songs are straight 10/10's.
@@hippiecheezburger5457 hearing this the first time was the first time i got disappointed with their music. it felt too formulaic and just 100% 60's music without their usual so great twist on things

My favorite album right now!! Absolutely love these guys. I’m so impressed by the songwriting AND musicianship. They have all they need to pull it all off - not just on the record, but live performance. Incredible!
I’ve got the sense that as well done as this album is, the gripe is that there is no lemon twigs identity or substance that is theirs and that is original, that it is all pastiche, that it is all well put together homage to previous bands. If so, then shouldn’t we potential music collectors simply obtain the original bands they are aping? (No pun intended in relation to Shane from their Go to School record). I really like the songcraft and so must love the influences but not sure how legit this potential critique is.
Not too many actual comments about th3 band here which really blows The lemon twigs are the most underrated band on the face of the Earth, any counter answer you have in sorry to say is just wrong. They're excellent song writers, can sing with the b3st of them, and are so damn good at the type of music they write. They're music doesn't feel like a rip off, it feels like a return tbat the pop of the 60s has been revived and evolved, if you haven't listened to them really do so. They're earlier stuff is hit or miss, but they're past 3 albums have been excellent good to see the needledrop recognizing their talent
