Thank you so much for making this detailed video! Attaching the springs to the piece was easy, squeezing and fitting it all back onto the cap was definitely the harder part. You did a great job explaining what needed to happen :)

    Dear MaryAnne,
Your video was well lit, high resolution and clear, unlike the other two. I was able to see what needed to align. I think though, that there is a better way to install the double sprung valve into the locking yoke. It is easier to remove the locking yoke from the lid by prying its pair of axle/ bosses free of the lid and then installing the double sprung valve into that. You are not fighting the ledge in the lid, or the spring tension, or the ledge inside the lid. Then the articulated locking yoke/ double sprung valve is reinstalled into the lid (axle bosses into lid holes), reasonably easily.
    Cheers,
    John

John P. McCormack Thank you for that explanation John. I didn’t realize that! And thank you so much for your kind words. I’m glad you liked the video.
It’s great that you figured out a better way. I hope people read your comment!

It worked! Thanks! Your video is the best. You took the time to make it with the detailed image in focus with good lighting so I could tell exactly where the metal springs rest on the plastic nibs/ supports and how the arms swing under the cross bar.

Excellent! One additional step that helped me...I took out the other piece that you placed the first piece with springs onto. I put the piece with the springs onto it ...and then placed the whole two-piece segment back into the lid. Way easier..at least for me. Your explanation and camera work with the still moments are fantastic. Thank you for saving us $$ and from putting our beloved Westloop Contigos into the trash!!!

Thank you so so much, dear, I was struggling to fix my lid for almost 2 weeks and then I found some random videos on youtube which didn't help me and I got really frustrated. As I easily get attached to my stuff so same with this travel mug I use to bring every day to my university didn't want to lose it. And finally, I found your video and it was amazing within 2 minutes I was able to fix my lid. You are an angel to save my lucky and favourite bottle. Thanks a ton, you are an amazing person.

First of all thank you very much wonderfully done with a lot of patience and good dexterity on your part. The ironic part is I've been an appliance technician for General Electric for over 30 years and I really paid attention to how it came apart but I've been messing with it for over an hour. After your video it got done in less than 10 minutes so kudos to you.

Thank you so much! It took me about 20 goes but I finally got it! It helps to think of steps - 1. Get wires in, 2. Get plastic under black ledge, 3. Get nodes in the holes. By tipping it upwards, I had more success. Thanks again ✌️

Thank you for this video, it was exactly what I needed! I had a slightly easier time by holding the springs back while fitting the feet and the fingers, then letting the spring arms go into place, was able to hold the springs back with one finger while doing so. If I could 'love' this video I would.

O.M.G!!! Thanks SO MUCH for posting this. The 1st time I had to reassemble this I had taken it apart to deep clean it, so I paid close attention to what was where. This time it fell apart while I was doing my regular cleaning & I wasted 15 mins trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. This is the worst & best cup ever...LOL. And I'm bookmarking your video for future reference.

Thanks for the video! Just a note, if you pull the 'push to clean lever forward after you have the springs on the ledges it eliminates the need to get the notches under the cross bar and you don't need any finger strength 😉 but you got me more than 1/2 way there! 🙏

Super helpful - but here is another helpful trick, which I saw it on another video in the comments. Took me 2 minutes to fix it this way, no finger strength needed: “I popped out the larger part that swings up. "Push to Clean". Use a small screwdriver or simular tool. Just to get a little leverage on each side. When you have that part out, it is very easy to install the actual seal part with the springs, because you can get a much more favorable angle, so it can be installed with very little spring tension. After you have that spring loaded part I installed, you can install the whole unit (both prices) without much trouble.”

For anyone struggling to get this to work, I just found it easier to get one side in place and then use a small screwdriver to work the other side's spring into position and do that side too - that way you don't have to squeeze both sides in at once while trying to keep the springs from well, springing...
