In the Dark Tower books, the character Suzannah is raped by a demonic elemental that she registered as a large, black Manta-Ray shaped entity and in the Shining novel at the end Dick Hallorann saw a huge Manta-Ray shaped entity rising from the third floor ceiling of the Overlook Hotel's building as the Hotel burned down as Hallorann escaped with Wendy and Danny Torrance. Which was the sentient demonic entity of the Overlook Hotel and the demon that possessed its building, the Management. This suggests the Manager demon is of the same demon race as the demonic elemental that violated Suzannah in the Dark Tower novels and in my own fan theory, the Overlook Hotel was constructed on a Thinny, a dimensional portal from the Dark Tower described as a portal between dimensions and worlds that living beings or entities can cross over into other dimensions. I think that's where the Manager demon originated and traveled into our world, possibly from the Dark Tower dimension and possessed the Overlook Hotel's building structure.
Idris Elba is the appropriate actor to play Roland Deschain the gunslinger. It's sad that he's being replaced by another actor due to a television reboot replacing the film franchise. It would've been fun to see him interact with Eddie, Mordred and the Crimson King.
Tyler Gidley he was Clint Eastwood really that’s who king pictured but I was fine with Idris Elba just wish they would have started from the beginning and did a 3 movie epic like LOTR
Idris has the ability to play a good Gunslinger but not as Roland. It is mentioned by the author himself that he created Roland in hopes that Clint Eastwood would play him one day (but never did). Also one of the main characters: Detta/Odetta is racists towards whites, which is very important for Books 1&2 - it's part of her character arc. They should have just done a TV series instead of a film which Im also disappointed that they canceled. I would have watched it wether or not Roland was played by Idris Elba or a white actor but for the show to continue the whole way - it is a big deal to stay true to the literature. No one knows about the Dark Tower. People think all Stephen King does is horror so the only viewers the show would get is from the book readers who know of the Dark Tower. They're the same people that will be the only ones to make profit from. I think Cilian Murphy is the perfect Roland. Ed Harris is also a really good candidate but even most Dark Tower fans want some red neck or country-accent-having actor like Timothy Olyphant to play Roland. Except Roland isn't a cowboy nor is he a red neck and nor does he have a country accent. I would hate for them to portray Roland as a typical white cowboy when Roland is Sci-Fi/fantasy western. Plus cowboys don't speak the High Speech, they're just country. Anyway, majority of DT fans will not like the idea and they will stop watching and since DT is already not very popular - they will probably stop producing the show after Season 1. Then we're left with 6 unfinished seasons that will probably never be finished because it flopped.

This was a licencing cash grab, surely. Idris is a brilliant actor but he did not play a convincing Roland. This whole movie was train wreck.
