I'm from North Jersey and live in Philly for the last 15 years ... the textures don't compare... the texture of water ice is so much smoother and more satisfying than Italian ice from NY ... and that's coming from someone who ain't no bias against any of the areas... i equally love NY, NJ and PA...

Every week food insider is coming up with a title called “LA favorite” or “Chicago favorite” or “New York favorite”. And let me tell you this, it’s huge marketing. These people their “interviewing” pay insider money to “interview” them. After it’s on social media, their earning will explode. Edit: many of you are saying what’s wrong, what’s wrong? They falsely promote foods not judging them accurately. The food might be good, but not “LA favorites”. There a dozen more places better than this ice cream place. Their feeding normal people fake information.

Happy Ice is SO GOOD! I got the pineapple, sour apple and cherry per the employee’s recommendation and it was delicious! It’s fluffy, sweet and refreshing! If you’re in LA I recommend it! 😋

I grew up with both they're not the same at all. Water ice has a smoother but dense texture, like ice cream without the dairy. It's not watery or slushy (unless it melts) like a slurpee. Depending on where you go there will be little flecks of real fruit in it. And the fruit/flavoring is churned together in the ice not poured over, so it doesn't separate or run out. Two totally different experiences.
Kevin Lockett true. For people who can’t get this, the closest way to understand it is the lime ice from Baskin Robbins. Water ice is a sorbet but extra creamy (like sherbet, but without dairy). Is a spectacular experience!

My mom-mom used to make water ice during the Great Depression. The point of water ice is to be cool, refreshing, and cheap.
Its the same consistency as Nieve or Nieve de garrafa that you can get for les than $2 ( here ice cream is made of water mostly, and season fruit).
