@@StreetInspired1 thanks for the reply! Yeah it feels essentially the same to me. I’ll get a protune and some other mods to go with it. First I gotta pop the J pipe back off and change the gasket, which i didnt do the first time lol. It’s a little smelly in the car so probably a leak..modding cars is fun
@@StreetInspired1 I understand so basically it’s going to be the same as your last set up with the resonated mid pipe like the sti but instead this time you have a catted j-pipe instead of a catless one
The STi resonated midpipe will help clean up the raspiness and quiet it down a little. The biggest factor in the volume will be mufflers in the axleback section though. Here's the part number for the midpipe 44200VA020. And here's what my setup sounds like ruclips.net/video/_KCfOajU7fM/видео.html&ab_channel=Mike0429
I have a Mishimoto intake, Boomba BPV, and the remark muffler deletes, and I'm thinking of getting a catted j pipe like this one that you have along with a pro-tune for the access port. Im currious to know how much hp you gained from the mods. of course, you've done more to the fueling but I want to know if its worth it to get the downpipe since i already have the intake and want more power as well as a proper tune instead of OTS. GREAT BUILD BTW LOVE IT!
If you get a protune with the mods that you listed I would say you would probably be around the 260-270 hp range on 93 octane. But if you are going to get protuned I would also highly recommend egr and tgv deletes they are pretty inexpensive and the tgvs you could just unplug the factory ones. They will help keep the motor clean and efficient but you will need a protune for them.
If I was in your situation, I'd probably just keep swapping between the stock catback and muffler delete when I got bored, and too annoyed each time haha, although the delete sounds so tough, the turbo whistle is epic! Maybe the Nameless 4inch/5inch muffler axleback is the sweet spot?
Thats what I'm thinking. I'll probably just swap back and forth. Might get a resonated midpipe and see if it will quiet things up with the muffler deletes. Might get rid of some of the turbo spool though.
@@StreetInspired1 yeah I just fitted a nameless 4 inch muffler axle back and it’s pretty close to a delete, would be pointless for you. No turbo whistle though with stock J pipe :(
Hey buddy I installed the intake and went with the stock tune did you see any dam numbers and knock numbers? I'm gonna go ahead and order the 1320 j pipe and etune it
@ADRIAN SINGH I like it, gives a deeper tone then the deletes. It's not as loud as the deletes. I like my shit to be stupid loud so I'm kinda disappointed but it's still loud.
Don't run the MAP J Pipe on the Cobb OTS! Only run the Cobb GESI catted J Pipe, unless you are going to get an E-Tune or Protune. Also you don't need an intake for Stage 2 OTS, that's for Stage 2+. Good luck with the build!
Sounds great. I have a 2020 WRX with the remark catback non resonated and muffler deletes you can hear the turbos spools well but I wanted to know if you hear drone while long drives I can’t decide weather to go high flow catted and resonated or just catted
The drone isn't that bad. Nothing a little music can't fix but I'll be honest it does get old sometimes. Since the mufflers Deletes are so easy to swap on and off I actually keep my stock mufflers around. So my perfect setup is a catted downpipe, non resonated midpipe (stock or aftermarket) and Muffler Deletes. I get tired of it I can swap the stock Mufflers on and it's almost as quiet as stock with more turbo whistle.
I just went stage 2 plus, I have the remark midpipe also , with muffler delete. I do have to say shit is super loud I might try stock exhaust, with remark midpipe
Ok cool. If I put the stage 2 ots map from my Cobb accessport will that work with this down pipe? I’m really debating getting this vs Cobb or invidia since I have invidia r400 catback
@@emiliomorales7816 Yeah as long as you're running the cobb intake you should be fine. You can run almost any catted downpipe on the cobb stage 2 map but you should only be on the cobb branded intake on a cobb ots map.
Ok perfect thanks yea I got the Cobb intake and the Perrin charge pipe. I didn’t need a tune for the charge pipe but figured I could use the stage two with this downpipe. I love how the turbo spool sounds at idle and getting out of first
@@emiliomorales7816 For sure you should be good to go then! And that's the best part. My favorite thing is when im up next to a store at a crosswalk or something and pull away and hear the turbo spool echoing off the building! Haha
Did you use any sort of adapter to install the j pipe with the stock mid pipe? To my understanding the j pipe is wider than the mid pipe, or would it be a good fit ?
I know you probably answered this in the comments but I just scrolled through them a bit and was wondering for an etune who did you go with? I have the same setup just installing the exact j pipe this Sunday, currently running the cobb ots stage 1 map and looking to only run the the cobb ots stage 2 map for a week or two max and try to get it etune. Hard finding a shop with a dyno here in Alaska and wish I could go corn but no corn up here either lol sucks highest octane is 90-91. Heard Torqued and Phatbotti are great
Is that cold start in the beginning with stratified start off since you have TGV deletes? Gonna be running a jpipe with muffler deletes with tgv deletes and my tuner is turning off stratified start. Trying to gauge how loud the cold start is. Thanks!
Hey bro do you get any in cabin smells? I'm catless and the smell is really bad, wondering if adding a high fliw would completely get rid of it. I drive my little bro around a lot and don't want him smelling that bs
Unless you have an exhaust leak you shouldn't really get any smells in the cabin with the windows up. But with catless you'll definitely smell the exhaust occasionally when all the windows are down. I would double check that its not leaking anywhere.
@@StreetInspired1 Ok . I have the remark muffler delete and stock mid pipe and I heard that the Stock mid pipe is 2 inches and the remark mid pipe is 3 inches. They say that the stock 2 inches mid pipe would be better meaning air can go out faster then the remark 3 inches mid pipe so is that true ?
@@ironkicks3075 Quite the opposite actually. The remark 3" pipe will flow air faster than the stock midpipe. Doing a 3" exhaust all the way back will reduce back pressure and add more power as a result.
