Wow, I've been putting off an AOS or Catch Can install because of how difficult and time consuming it looked but this actually looks relatively easy. Thanks for the video.
You're video was the deciding factor to buy these vs aos. I'm going to install next week. One thing to note, I'm going to try to connect the last hose to the white plastic piece with it out of the car and just slide it all in at once. Thank again for the great install!
This was an absolutely amazing video, you’re absolutely right there’s no videos on this and I was looking for a system that does both vacuum areas this will be perfect for my 21
just ordered the radium dual can kit (from IIR ironically). should be a fun install. I will also change out the pitch stop mount; because "while I'm in there" ... hopefully I will get a review onto the site soon (w/pictures of course)...Radium changed the box color to black btw. Also, undoing the cans to empty them; how's that going to work since they look stuffed behind the ABS pump???
Hi, great video! Thanks for taking the time to make it! I got a slight kink in my 5/8 hose by the charge pipe, think it will harm anything? How can I get the kink out? Thanks!
At 1:15 If you upgraded your turbo, why would you need to upgrade your AOS to a performance one? I upgraded my turbo and it was working fine and it stated leaking oil. I sent the turbo in for a warranty inspection and they said it was in perfect condition. I still bought a new turbo had it installed also installed a perrin turbo sump restrictor and still had the oil leak problem. I wonder if I should just get some catch cans and see if that's the problem.
Just to piggy back on this video, You are able to get the hose off/on WITHOUT taking the a/c compressor off with some long nose needle pliers, you just need to guide the hose back on and it'll go on just fine. And if you have a FMIC like i do, i found it easier to jack the right front corner because trying to get the turbo inlet hose on from the top is impossible. Can be done without even touching the radiator fan
Thank you for making this video! After teetering between this and an air oil separator I decided on the radium based on the installation video you made. I have the same grimspeed tmic, and a grimmspeed charge pipe. Hoping the install will go as smooth as yours. Question am I right in saying no need for a tune after installing the catch can since no sensors are being effected? You got a new subscriber!
I have their brake master cylinder brace and it is a nice piece...plus it also doubles as a mount for their AOS. These systems aren't cheap. I've seen systems for both the pcv and ccv, so which system/vent do you put the catch cans/AOS on? Can you run both an AOS and a catch can or is that too much?
let me add....way way easier with the EGR delete you have. I don't and there is a ~1/2" hardline that is right in the way of the intake port and 1/2" hose connection. much harder as there is zero room and zero leverage
okay can you explain why some catch cans only come with one. like im confused on which side i would put the one catch can if i only got one. so what is the difference between one or two catch cans?
How are the catch cans doing? Did they collect a good amount? I have an iag aos v3 rn and I’m thinking about switching to this catch can setup instead.
So far so good! I checked the built in dipsticks a few times and they aren't wet yet so its not full enough to be on the dipsticks but I have only put about 2,000 miles on them. Next time I change my oil I am going to remove and empty them and see how much they collected. The car still has very low miles so that may be a contributing factor. But when I remove the dipsticks it definitely smells like oil in there, just not full enough to hit the dipstick.
Curious ... now that you've had the system for a while, how much oil do you capture in both of the cans. I'm curious which can gathers the MOST oil. Also, at what interval do you empty it? Thanks!
Yeah some intakes interfere with them. I'm pretty sure that's usually listed in the description if them. I think most people running the Cobb intake cut a small section out of the box.
Not sure what you're referring to. I didn't have any added noise or whistle after installing mine. I would dowubl3 check that all your lines are sealed properly and your catch can dipsticks are screwed in all he way with the seals.
Hey I'm currently installing mines on my 2020wrx and the new hose that goes into the intake inlet nipple cannot go all the way on to the nipple no matter what I do. Is this ok? I tried lubbing everything up too.
Try a different hose and use a male/male coupler. Put a 3-4" (or longer hose different than the one in the kit) and then use the coupler to join that hose with the one from the kit. Some trimming maybe necessary
I feel like everyone says that just to cover them if something happens. I never disconnect my battery unless I'm messing with airbags or cutting into live wires.
@@_k808x__6 I don't belive so. You only touch one electrical connector the whole install. I had no issues. But you can do it if want the extra peice of mind you'll just have to reset your clock and settings on the HUD.
Did you get your 20 with no miles if so did you do the recommended 1k mile break in ? I was wondering if I could do some HW break in to get miles higher
I got mine with 8 miles on it. I did a minor break on for 1k miles. Did a few half throttle pulls here and there after 500 minles. Never went over 6,500 rpm, and avoided staying at one rpm for too long. After 1k miles I changed the oil and filter and started modding!
@Street Inspired thanks for the reply! I was mainly asking in case I should leave a little bit more play in the hoses to have more room to lift the bracket out to empty. But if you have enough slack to lift, I'm good to go 🤙
That sounds like they are selling each catch can separately. This is from Radiums website for the full kit: "The forward catch can intercepts the CCV line and the rear catch can intercepts the PCV line. The system is completely sealed and retains factory function of the PCV valve."
@@justinchmura1778 they don't get filled with oil you install them empty and they just catch any blow by oil that would otherwise end up getting pulled into the engine. I empty them every oil change and there's usually less than 4 Oz of oil combined in them.
Hey man just wondering if you could make another exhaust video once you get a resonated mid pipe since the one you did a couple years ago was with a cat less j pipe and I wanna know what it sounds like with the catted one
@@StreetInspired1 Alright cause I’m interested in getting a catted j pipe but I don’t want it to sound raspy or very loud, right now I got just an SRS Axle back and that’s plenty loud and the right tone

@@StreetInspired1 yeah I’ve heard the q300 and I’m in love with it’s sound but it’s really rare to find the one without the burnt tips and I don’t dig the rolled tips but besides that it’s definitely one of the best sounding ones out there
I haven't seen those before. Most catch cans will all work the same though as long as there's baffling inside the catch can they should be equally as effective.
no offence but running a bigger turbo in a iag street series or radium AOS does not do that lol i have a iag street series on a garret g30-900 at 34psi and its just fine
IAG aos was my choice as having frozen cans wasn’t something I wanted. To each there own, of course now you can just get them from our for the vb you bought. Lots of bad decisions for you
I never had a frozen catch can and in Pennsylvania we get winters as low as 0°f and never had an issue with mine. The Radium Cans were one of the first things I did to my VB.
now i know all car engineers like all of them all stooped like MB, PORSCHE,AUDI,CRYSLER EVEN ROLLS ROYS NO ONE FIGURE THAT THEY NEED INSTALL SIMPLE OIL CATCH CANS LOL OMG!!!
Really hate that I bought this car. Especially knowing they come from the factor with the equivalent of batteries not included with some electronic device. So bought a fraction of a full car for the price of an complete one. Everything that can make these expressly shit, you have to mod or tune out. Fuck subarus.
Will this AOS fit a 2019 Wrx with an ETS intake with their box. It looks very similar to the Mishimoto hes got in this video but i dont know if the exact dimensions are the same or if the ETS is longer or not

Nice man good video. Looking into this setup for myself over aos because I live in Canada and gets cold AF.
This same process for the STI bro , 2017 an AOS seems popular but install looks hard on those

Radium makes a dual catch can for the 22+ WRX. Can you guys PLEASE make an install video for the 22+ WRX?
