I have been riding a 2023 VX Limited this summer, after years of riding a 2000 Kawasaki ZXi 1100 I picked up gently used in 2006. (Yes, I rode that Kaw for nearly twenty seasons and finally had to give it up after two top end rebuilds.) I thought the Kaw had acceleration, but this VX, even with the older 1.8 motor caught me by surprise! 0-45 in under 3 seconds, 45 to 65 (I weigh 185) in about the same. Super responsive, stable and solid through tight turns even without adjustable trim. My grandson's reaction after his first ride, "Pap! That thing is scary fast!"
Wow, it sounds like you've had an incredible upgrade! The VX Limited really does offer some impressive performance. Glad to hear you're enjoying it and that your grandson is loving the ride too! Thanks for sharing your comments!
So awesome. Congrats! 🎉 have a great time! And once you get out in the water send us a photo we’d love to feature it in our newsletter! photos@boattest.com
They call it mid sized, however 1/2 inch less width and a few inches shorter than the FX is not much different. I currently own a 2023 VX Cruiser HO I picked up at a boat show this past January with galvanized trailer was just $15,100.00 total out the door since I paid cash.
@@BoatTEST My other ski is a 2004 Kawasaki Ultra 150. Having more stability and more room for the second passenger is a plus for sure. The engine provides plenty of power for touring. It’s comfortable for me at 6’2” and the wife to spent a day out on Tampa Bay. I did the first oil change myself and it was an easy using an oil extraction tank. We are retired and we’re looking for an inexpensive way to day tour and the VX cruiser HO fit the bill.
I always love "since I paid cash" -- you must have gotten a good deal because you were giving them a hard time about the fact that you had cash. Dealers don't make as much money off of cash deals -- "I paid cash." -- "So did the bank when they initiated your loan. And I made more on the back end."
I just got vx ho 2024. The power so crazy so fast to speedup it makes me nervous man. Secondly the head of jetski so light I can't control it well when I speed up. But anyway I really like it and this is my second time to play with ai. I think I have to stay with it couple month to get to know it better. And what is TDE and how to enable that function. Thanks
I hopefully pick mine up this Friday. I do wish they put the trim feature in the VX HO for this reason. Being able to control the bow lift would be so nice. Fingers crossed I love it tho
Guy on the jet ski- “yeah i skills. What are you goin’ to do about it?” Hopefully you get my reference and dont think im being a pompous a$$. If you havent heard it, you should check it out. Its funny.
I am looking for a new ski and this is at the top of my list. In a nutshell, what are the ride characteristics of the vx ho compared to the FX HO (not interested in supercharged units). This would live on a 22,000 acre lake...we have a surf boat and fishing boat, so this ski would be for fun and to run around on...kids are 16 and 13. Would I be correct in guessing this is a sportier ride whereas the FX would be more like a limo ride???
You are correct on the ride comparison to a point. This VX is more of an nimble and sportier ride, but tje FX HO still is easy to enjoy and cut up on. If I were playing around for a day, the VX would be my choice. If I were to be doing some longer distance with rougher seas, then the FX would be the way to go. But, either way, both can be enjoyed.
@everyonelovesfriday2045 I'm just having that same dilemma because of the auto trim (trim in general). Do you regret going with the GP HO or do you think it was the right decision?
I have a 2022/23 model HO vx cruiser and is has no trim. My previous FX had trim and at low speeds, I find it really bow heavy. The nose really dives in the water, letting a lot of water coming over the bow in the footwells. In comparision with the seadoo's they sit a lot higher at the bow.
No. $13,599. Destination charge should be about $550. Nothing for dealer prep. Tax, of course, but that varies and, if you are adding that, you are attempting to mislead.

Where do you go to order 1?

Sweet! How do you like it?!

I tested both. The FX does ride a bit smoother in chop, is a bit bigger lady on the water, you can't toss the fx around as easy like the vx.

Do you think the gp 1900 ho would be quicker ? They share the same haul design and same engine . Just the vx is slightly heavier.
Cap’n Trip uses bobby pins to keep his cap from flying off.

Ha! It might have been frozen to my head on this day.....
Does that center beam at the engine compartment come out?? It looks like its part of the Hull and looks hard to get to the motor??

TDE allows you to approach docks at a snails pace while maintaining directional control. Also has reverse TDE.

Read the manual...sounds like you need it!
How does he keep his baseball-style hat on at those speeds?
Impressive right? It’s his cowboy hat.

Very careful head angle. If I were to look up just a bit, it would fly off.
If it's that cold out, I'd probably have snot frozen to the sides of my face after running at those speeds. 😂
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I got to get me 2 of these bad boy
Go for it!!!
Trip dip!

The VX uses the same shaped hull as the gp just different materials
Thanks for the info. This would certainly be for running around on the lake and not long trips...thanks again for the info

I didnt know that either..so it leans to the sporty side I take it? Thanks for the info! @@everyonelovesfriday2045
@@everyonelovesfriday2045what are the differences in material? Which uses which?
Did Yamaha finally add trim to the VX??? That’s the only reason I got a GP HO because the GP had trim
Yes VX has trim but its not as agressive as on the FX
From what I’ve read there is no Trim on the VX HO. It would have been a great addition tho

$17,000 without a trailer 😮

They are super proud of their stuff. 😂
Im looking at the same one. In Missouri, they run about 16,799 for both. Trailer is 1799 .00. Seems high but oh well
