    Just purchased the Azul Blue VX cruiser HO. Put 2hrs on it yesterday. It rockets out of the hole. Honestly doesn't feel much different than the 2018 GP 1800 SVHO we had before. The SVHO was faster up top. Hit 71 on that vs 64 on the VX HO but I like the ride and comfort better of the VX. It's a sweet machine. Got it on sale for 13,099.00.

    TDE mode is great for sneaking up to the dock.

    Are there really any significant differences between this and lets say the GP HO? Other than maybe some handling? Just trying to figure out if its worth the extra $1,000+

    • @BoatingMagazine
      @BoatingMagazine  4 месяца назад

      It's always a personal decision, but some things to consider might be: The GP HO is 80 lb. lighter. The VX Cruiser HO comes standard with the factory audio.

    • @jonmitchell9213
      @jonmitchell9213 4 месяца назад

      @@BoatingMagazine Do you think that weight difference makes any sort of a significant difference in fuel economy?

    • @BoatingMagazine
      @BoatingMagazine  4 месяца назад

      @@jonmitchell9213 Weight and power are the primary determinants of efficiency and speed. The 80 pounds represents about 12 percent. Same rider, same habits, same water, yes it should deliver better efficiency. Enough to matter? Again, that's personal, as a PWC doesn't cost " much" to run to begin with. ( meaning we acknowledge that this point varies by the individual).

    • @BoatingMagazine
      @BoatingMagazine  4 месяца назад

      @@jonmitchell9213 So, while the weight difference matters with regards to efficiency, our opinion is that the lighter weight will better deliver a benefit of a sportier, more agile feel.

    I just bought one of these and I don't see how everyone says top speed is 64. I'm pulling 66 with 2 people

    Let's see, buy a ski or get my kid a car for college, hmmmm. 20k for a ski is ridiculous

      Hey, @Axlenut, some of us here at Boating have college-bound kids, so we hear you. This VXCruiser is currently on the Yamaha website for as a starting price of $13,600. ( www.yamahawaverunners.com/build-and-price/ )Maybe you have it confused with the FX Cruiser SVHO which is close to $20k? Of course other Waverunners can be bought for about $7k.

      Just bought one yesterday and with dealer fees, tax, doc fee, freight, prep gap it’s pretty much 20k plus buying a trailer. Can’t wait to take this thing out tho!!

    Hey Jeff, wasn’t there a white Yamaha “Cruiser” of some sort a couple of years ago. I saw two on a trailer in California (Highway 80). This particular model looks great in white too. I’m going to check with our local dealer. We need a “Spare” “Jetski”.

    The specs say it is 3370 long, that cant be, that is massive. How long is it?

    • @BoatingMagazine

      132.7 inches. A bit over 11 feet.

    • @chippyjohn1
      @chippyjohn1 5 месяцев назад

      @@BoatingMagazine So it's 3370 in standard. They are massive, the length.

    • @BoatingMagazine
      @BoatingMagazine  5 месяцев назад

      @@chippyjohn1 Massive in comparison with what? It’s relative. For instance a Sea-Doo GTX measures 135.9” / 3451 cm

    • @chippyjohn1
      @chippyjohn1 5 месяцев назад

      @BoatingMagazine 3451cm wouldn't be correct. Their size comparison compared to what they used to be and even small tenders that hold more people. They were originally a motorcycle for water, now they are a car. They have grown in size by over 50%. It's longer than the car I drive.

      @@chippyjohn1 Yes. You are talking about decades ago. That said, one can still purchase smaller, single person models of modest power.

    Just got mine and 25 minutes into the engine break in and check engine light came on. Dealer has had it for a few days and can't find the problem. Waiting for a Yamaha technician to try and figure it out.....Wow!

      what is the code(s), I worked at a new car dealer. Usually It is just a software issue. OBD2 system Sensor defective is very easy to fix.

      25 min's into break in...and it's already messing up ?..wow !. just goes to show ya...newer isn't always better..lol. my '15 yamaha fx ho cruiser has not had one issue from day one, been great. anytime i see new stuff come out with all this fancy electronics ?..i cringe at the fact it will cause trouble...and sure enough..it shows !. no trim, no cup holders on the vx ho ?, and larger price tag than the fx ho cruiser ?..no thanks..i'll keep my '15 fx ho cruiser, and its paid for..lol.

      Got it back after 3 weeks, said it was the throttle body. Took it out, finished the break i😢n and another check engine light. Dealership has had it another two weeks. This time, they think it's a bad ecu. Waiting for the part now.

      speed wise ?..they are about the same ?, as the uscg will limit the top speed from factory settings. fuel wise ?, the 1.9L will drink more fuel, as it has 20 more hp than the 1.8L engine. cost wise ?..yeah...glad i got my '15 fx ho cruiser back then in 2015, as they seem to have jumped way up in price tag lately.
