It's important to first determine 'Who' exercised the action of the ‘verb’. … It was Paul and his preaching of the Gospel. It does NOT say God did anything. Inserting God in that context can be reading onto the verse by assumption.

Armenian best tactic to try and destroy The Reformed Doctrine is this; Deny Deny Deny what Scripture clearly States. What your trying to deconstruct is not Calvinism but God's Sovereignty. If you HAVE been Saved, it's only because The Father in Heaven chose to draw you to the Cross. The three Greek meanings of Draw is " Hauling fish out of the water in a Net", Drawing a Sword from it's Sheath, Dragging. How does God do this? John 6: 45 "They have been taught of God" "everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me." ( Words of Jesus). Almost the whole World has heard the Gospel of Christ, yet not all who has heard has come to Jesus. Why? It's because God has not given everyone "Ears to hear" nor "Eyes to see." Not every one has been "Taught of God". Read Mathew 13:16. Man cannot understand matters of the Spirit! (1st COR 2:14). Jesus told a man who wanted to bury his father before following Jesus, "Let the Dead bury the Dead." Yes my friends, we who are Saved were once Spiritually Dead, at enmity with God. We could not hear and learn from God by our own volition, our own choice. It was impossible according to Scripture. So the choice to receive Salvation was never ours until God chose to "Make us alive in Christ" ( Ephesians 2: 1-7) God not only gave you ears to hear and eyes to see, he gave you a small measure of Faith as it says in Romans 12:3. So you see? JESUS is "Author and Finisher of our Faith"! (Hebrews 12:2). When you "Confessed Jesus" (is Lord) and believed "in your Heart that GOD raised Him from the Dead" and were Saved, It's only because you were chosen by God, drawn to the Cross by God, washed clean of your Sin by God, Forgiven by God and were Saved from punishment, by GOD! So let's stop believing from a Prideful Heart that God couldn't Save us unless we give him permission by choosing to believe in The God/Man Jesus, in whom was the "The Full God Head". (Colossians 2:9-14) Understand the Truth that you didn't choose God, it was GOD who chose YOU, and give HIM the Glory HE deserves. Give God ALL the Glory and all credit for Saving people like you and Me! The Glory of GOD is shown through The Lamb of God, JESUS CHRIST! What I've told you is Scriptural and True. You're only hurting yourself by trying to "Deconstruct" the Truth.
I can’t believe Paul wasn’t chosen from before he was born to be the Apostle to the Gentiles. It took “extra persuasion” by Jesus for Paul to believe, of course. Paul got an extra push…
Paul was chosen in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world, just as the Scriptures state. Everything God does in time He purposed in eternity. He makes no new decisions.
@@timothyrogers1964 Nope. He's perfect, and cannot change. Having a new thought would indicate a lack of perfection. Malachi 3:6 "For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."
Surely if you reject God's sovereignty you have many issues in the realm of time (is it really Que Sera Sera, open theism) as explaining how 4 parties were ordained to crucify Jesus (Acts 4 v 27,28), the 'unjustness' of those who never hear the Gospel, that a just God can't be trusted with free choices, but he can know beforehand and appoint our deaths, Judas, the Assyrians, his own death to the very hour, etc.

If have been asking the question myself many times, why hard core Calvinists stick to the heresy of Calvinism. I believe that they prefer to trust in the false doctrine of unconditional election above the acceptance of the regenerated power of His Spirit as a perfect excuse for no further obligation in the era of discipleship and moral accountability. I sincerely doubt if people like James White and John mcArthur are really saved, lacking any regenerated spiritual power (anointing) and as such falling back on the ‘security’ of unconditional election, which is a deception.

@@glennishammont7414 5-Point Calvinists are a cancer demanding that they be accepted as Christians. I do not. Calvinists are Calvinists! Mormons are Mormons! Calvinists believe god created all things, and controls all things, predetermined all things, and made all things exactly the way they are. ... thus god also created evil. therefore since Calvinists believe god created evil. they are blaspheming against the holy spirit ... the only unforgivable sin. Calvinists also believe the only people who will be saved have been predetermined by god. and since Calvinists believe god predetermined who will be saved ... they have removed free will - the gift of god to humans, and removed Jesus from the equation. since god (according to Calvinists) has already determined who will be saved ... (and who will not be saved) ... those who will be saved do not need Christ and those who will not be saved cannot come to christ. thus Calvinists are not Christians. So let's stop believing from a Prideful Heart that God couldn't Save us unless we give him permission by choosing to believe in The God/Man Jesus, in whom was the "The Full God Head". (Colossians 2:9-14)
Understand the Truth that you didn't choose God, it was GOD who chose YOU, and give HIM the Glory HE deserves.
@@johnhoran9840 if God can never have a new thought then he is limited and not infinite
@@timothyrogers1964 Nope. He's perfect, and cannot change. Having a new thought would indicate a lack of perfection. Malachi 3:6 "For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."
@@johnhoran9840 or he has Alzheimer.. Jeremiah 19:5... which I commanded not nor spoke it, neither came it into My mind.
You people definitely don't understand the scriptures.. Acts 13:48 speaks only of one thing, that those who believe the gospel are the elect who are predestined for salvation even before they are born. The best simplest and most clear version of Acts 13:48 is NLT although all bible versions speaks of the same thing... Acts 13:48(NLT) says: "When the Gentiles heard this, they were very glad and thanked the Lord for his message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers."
Note: Those Gentiles who heard the gospel for the first time were already chosen for eternal life even before they became believers.
Election and Predestination for salvation and for damnation is a biblical doctrine.. Jesus Himself revealed that in the parabale of Wheat and Tares...
@@glennishammont7414,
They may be wrong but I think they are saved because they believe and trust in Jesus.. who are we to judge others if they are saved or not.. Jesus is the only Judge... I don't think there is any Christian denomination who teaches all truth... Trinity
is the doctrine of the devil, was first conceived by Tertullian in 200 AD followed by Agustine and spread out by the anti Christ Catholic church and adhered by most Christians..According to Jesus in the parable of Wheat and Tares, there are
only 2 kinds of people in the world.. The Wheat are the children of God literally and the Tares are the children of the devil literally, all the children of God are predestined to be saved and all the children of the devil are predestined to be burned in fire... I believe that in every denomination there are Wheat and Tares.. And there are some evil churches who worship the devil instead of Jesus, I have seen then in you tube.. I believe all of them, both leader and followers are all children of the devil..
@@glennishammont7414 5-Point Calvinists are a cancer demanding that they be accepted as Christians. I do not. I mark them, as we are told to expose false teachers preaching another gospel to what Paul preached.
True full blown Calvinists are not even saved let alone Christians.
Christians are Christians!
Calvinists are Calvinists!
Mormons are Mormons!
Calvinists believe god created all things, and controls all things, predetermined all things,
and made all things exactly the way they are.
... thus god also created evil.
therefore since Calvinists believe god created evil.
they are blaspheming against the holy spirit ... the only unforgivable sin.
Yet if they are still breathing and have a heart beat they can turn to Christ and he will forgive them.
A fool says in his heart that he is wise. A fool is seen for what they are by those with discernment.
There god is calvi-god and calvi-jesus which are a figment made up out of their imagination.
Jesus loves you and wants to save you. Simply turn to Him and ask for forgiveness and follow Him. Simple.
So do you see the schizophrenia of falling for a lie as big as Satan's number one tool? Calvinism! It is schizophrenia!
Truth in love
Where in the boble says that, that they were elected for salvation before they believed?
@@denmart9842, I showed that in Acs 13:48(NLT) when I posted

God chooses His Bride....get over it.....the Bible is so obvious and clear....If God didn't choose you then you will one day hear from Him, "Depart from Me, I never knew you!" Paul says 3 times in I Cor 1:26-31 that GOD chooses the lowly things and the despised things and the things that are not, so that noone may boast before Him. Thats why it is called AMAZING GRACE! Not common grace which is what Arminians falsely believe in........Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus BY THE WILL OF GOD! Jesus chose Paul! HELLO! There is no free will since Adam sinned.....Man is dead in his sins....
You do realize you quoted a verse that says there are conditions on who God chooses trying to support unconditional election?
@@gracemercywrath8767 what conditions....that they are weak? The bottom line is GOD chooses who to save.....Man has ZERO free will for salvation. That is so elementary in the Bible....You are just rebelling against the Word of God.
@@gracemercywrath8767 Amos 3:2 "You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities." God chose Israel only....He did not choose the Egyptians, the Babylonians or the Assyrians. God has always chosen His covenant people. Your Arminian free theology is foolishness and cannot be true....its pathetic.
@@timclark2925 No I'm using the word of God attempting to handle it correctly. I was a Calvinist for twenty years and had no problem believing it until I saw how it is not what the Bible teaches and now I try to share what I learned with others. I only ask that you listen to my argument and test them against scripture and then test what Calvinism says. Blessings.
@@gracemercywrath8767 Just because you were a Calvinist for 20 years means nothing....what you have latched onto now is total nonsense....What you refer to as Calvinism will always be hated by humans. Because it upsets our sense of fairness. They hated it when Jesus taught it too in the 1st Century....See John 6:64-66....it says that many of his disciples no longer followed Him. Nothing new.....people hate Gods sovereignty and Gods choice in salvation....
