I'm a farm girl and nurse. First very impressed with that half circle gate. Very cool. Thank you sir for being a farmer and feeding all of us, you work very hard without vacations. Thank you. Black Angus are some of the most stubborn cows there are. I needed a heart valve replacement and they gave me a cow valve. Told them I wanted a black Angus one just for that reason. Praise God for all blessings

Growing up in the 1970's, i always had a respect for farmers but as i got older, that respect grew tremendously! This was warranted as i grew to have so much knowledge more about all of what they do for their animals. I think 99% of all farmers are amazing people to say the least! They have to be! Good job Tyler!!

@@updownstate So true. It is super long days and harder word than most people would ever know. They think its just walking around doing different things when in fact, its chasing the pigs and getting them back in the pen. Its baily hay and lifting those bails when you have already put in 8-10 hours that day. Then, you have to go home and do what you need to keep your life moving, such as laundry, dinner and children as well as the shopping and parent teacher conferences. Like i said...most people have no idea what it all entails....and yes, falling asleep in your dinner plate is a known side effect...lol

But, at the same time he was neglecting them. It was so heartbreaking. My father in-law bought his animals from him, and they're doing so much better.

This happens to outdoor cats, sometimes, too. The skin heals over the infection, then that all builds up underneath and eventually blows out. Sometimes you have to stitch it up with a stent so it keeps draining, instead of healing over and rupturing again. It's nasty, lol. You see a blow out for the first time and you think they cat is going to die from it, but as long as you clean them up, maybe give them some antibiotics, it heals. I guess I'm a cat-herder.

My ragdoll cat has had a few abscesses, and I’m grateful I knew what to do to clean them up and get them to heal. She was so good for me, too. I must have saved a ton of money by doing it myself instead of taking her to the vet. A different cat we had years and years ago had an infection in her uterus, and that’s was pretty gross. The food industry that processes are the people who don't care. We raise rabbits for meat, baby all of them, give them treats, he'll I have sat up at 2 am giving a stuffy momma a breathing treatment. Most farmers do what they do out of pure love of the animal. We became farmers so the ONLY bad day our animals have is slaughter day... and they never even knew what happened. A city girl here. I just watched a video where a vet cleaned out a massive abscess on a cow's hind leg. The vet followed everything I've been seeing doctors do on humans with abscesses for many months, lately. It was amazing. Then your video popped up. Wow, you did this all by yourself, although the abscess was blown open, and you tried to get some of the remaining gunk out. I'm amazed to see how your treated the wound. Either you are too far away from vets, are too broke, or else just know what to too. Again, I'm a city girl, so I'm ignorant on these matters of animal husbandry. That poor cow knew she was hurting & didn't want your undivided attention with this, lol. It's so different from the curious & smoochie dairy cow videos I've seen... ut I'd be running away too if I was in pain, too. Anyway, good job. Farmers are renowned to be jack-of-all-trades, and know how to solve problems. You did a good job keeping that wound covered. I'll look to see if youve posted an update video, otherwise I'll assume that all healed up nicely.

I love how much this video brought back memories of me back on our farm. I also liked how you used modern medicine and clay to address the wound on that cow. Clay has so many benefits. You can also use it on your face to clean pours and on bug bites. Nice to know that the Redman company has clay as well as salt. Thank you.

I appreciate how gentle you were while touching her wound and applying the clay. And they say ranchers/farmers don’t care about their livestock.

That was a messy one. Happy to see people like you who really care about their livestock.

    Dr. FARMER TYLER!
    GREAT JOB!
That sore reminded me of when i had melanoma and they had to cut out a huge place on my arm and leave it open until the margin report came back at least a couple weeks!
Also I was the one to change and clean my husbands fingers when he got them caught in our snow blower. Yep lost top 1/3 of 3 fingers. Had to have partial amputation. So this video. NO PROBLEM MAN!

I knew a fallow deer named Kevin who had a much larger one above his shoulders. He had chipped a scapula or a spinus process of a vertebra up there, I don't remember which. Abscess was much bigger than this one. We got him in a box stall and started planning our next move. He was familiar with the stall but very agitated about the abscess. He bumped around and eventually banged hard enough against the wall that he ruptured it on his own. Sprayed all over. What a smell!!!

What causes the abscesses on cattle? I find this very interesting. You’re so gentle with her. Great to see that. God bless you and your family for being farmers. Thank you for your services.

Bug bite, rolling on something that penetrates the skin. Could be almost anything

The list of causes is endless, sometimes it can be something as simple as a slight scratch that gets a bit of debris in or be something like another animal biting her or many other options, also they can develop really quickly too (even as quick as over night) or some can take days to develop so many people don't realise how quickly some can develop and so criticise people for taking so long to get them sorted. This one could of been there for a day or so and then erupted. The good thing is once it erupted the pain would of been negligible for her (I admit I get lots of abscess due to a few health conditions and the relief once they have either been lanced or ruptured is bliss)

I love that chute. So much easier than some of the setups I've seen on other farms!
