The nephron is the microscopic structural and functional unit of the kidney. It is composed of a renal corpuscle and a renal tubule. The renal corpuscle consists of a tuft of capillaries called a glomerulus and an encompassing Bowman's capsule.

Because nephron is the only part of kidney that is filtering the blood and forming into urine so nephron is considered as the structural and functional unit of the kidney

Answer: Bcz nephron is the part it purifies blood and reabsorbs. With out neprone the function can't takes place. The process and work(function) takes place, so it is called as functional system, and as it as structure for processing, said to be as structural unit.

Bcoz nephrons are microscopic and thin tubular functional units called Nephrons
Nephron is the functional unit of kidney because if nephron will not be there will be no filtration of oxygenated blood and the metabolic wastes that are there in our body as the end products of various biochemical reactions will not be able to excreate our body and we will have many health issues in fact we can die as it will disturb our proper function of the body.
Sir I have one question for you that what happen to those who have only one kidney?
The whole process will be done only in one kidney.... but if we consume same amount of water, then kidneys will fall into burden regarding its function.
So it is good to drink less water to those who have one kidney sir
