  • A pod of killer whales put on quite the show for a group of onlookers during a whale watching expedition.
Video shows a rare sight of the whales swimming and playing off the coast of California, leaving tourists and experts blown away.
“This is not your every day event, It was like a big party,” said Marine Biologist for Monterey Bay Whale Watch, Nancy Black.
Video shows dozens of orcas having the time of their lives.
“It’s pretty incredible to have an encounter like that and they were exuberant and yeah, the best words - they were playful, they were happy," said Black.

I totally agree with you. One more thing. We need to stop polluting the oceans with plastic and fishing nets. It's killing our large mammals by wrapping them up in the lines and causing a drowning.

Breaking down dams to increase the supply of salmon has had wonderful effects for the whole ecosystem, and only stands to improve in years to come as more rivers in the Pacific Northwest are freed to flow naturally. Fish stocks will explode, which is good for sea mammals, and thus orcas.

My experience with wildlife is that there is a pattern sounds behavior and when a pattern behavior that is when we need to take notice and to look more carefully, For instance recently I heard birds change their song it was more frantic and noticed them dive bombing my yard . Went to check and their baby fell from the nest . Got a ladder and put it back. Just a few weeks ago I was standing on my back porch and bird came in front of me making a hectic squawked and when I looked she flew off into my man made pond. went to look and her baby had fallen onto the pond again got the ladder and put the baby back in the nest ( these were different nests on different parts of property . years ago I came home a bird were acting weird ... squawking at me and dive bombing my cellar window over and over and then back to me so I went to my cellar window and her mate or fellow bird was trapped in my cellar . walked into teh house to get th bird out and the other bird who told me there was a bird in my cellar was waiting on teh telephone line right in front of my cellar door. The bird flew out of my cellar to the bird on the wire then they flew of together ... so again when animals behavior pattern changes I think we need to take notice.

Exactly I take it as a warning of something catastrophic coming to the human race.... Killer Whale ORCA is my favorite animal above all on earth and yes they are amazing but their smartness although it is above most is also terrifying because they are overly intelligent that if they want they can destroy any ship if they really decide to and if there's a goal or valid reason to do so... I studied them for years and what seems as a jolly old time for most for me lots more than that. A warning that is causing them to get together to become a force in a dangerous time that is soon approaching.

@@MrSlanderer it's a territory thing... availability of their prey.... humans getting in the way... it is their ocean after all😊... you don't see them wandering around on land...

Incredibly rare orca behavioral footage ruined by person's refusal to hold their phone sideways for video recording

Gotta go to the beach when reporting on whales, otherwise the connection is lost.

the last news show talked about rules for rescuing the baby seal from the inlet there, but he doesn't 'qualify' for sea world or other rescue possibilities. ..wondering if there's something going on with Sea World, Death at Sea World and the whole captivity thing. remembering the old documentary by Rattle The Cage Productions: Slave to Human Entertainment- Lolita. Made a PETA member out of me back then. Still mostly vegan aside from the occasional yogurt. (Miami Sea World, lots of sadness with the Orca still living in captivity after so many years. longest survivor of such a large mammal in such a small tank, per se) Wondering with the 'experts' up in Puget Sound Washington/Seattle have to say, too.
