The Manila neighborhood actually does have some nightlife due to the hostels, especially Viajero rooftop. There's also a new beer garden on the main street. But the nightlife is tame compared to parque lleras.
@dannybooboo have you ever visited El Retiro? I saw a video of an Airbnb and the views were absolutely stunning!! As a writer and vegetarian, I’d love to spend a few weeks in the hills but need easy access to good produce/farmers markets. Do Ubers or public transportation go up these hills? Thank you in advance for your insights.
Super important. Keep an eye on my recent videos and my future videos. I'll be making one for any city I spend a month in plus I'll be ranking the citys with my City Rank series
Danny - this is a great video! I’m hoping to live in Medellin in the winter months and have already been there twice, but there’s still so much to learn. I really appreciate the level of detail you show here.
Sabaneta is local and great. The downsides are the variety of restaurants, only one gym, very small shopping mall, but less pollution ,more affordable, less gringos and the things that come along with it, but worse weather as I recall, more clouds and rain
Itagüi Municipality is a working class community, I believe it is stratos: 3-5? I have friends there and the overall vibe that I get is working class, fun loving, hard working, family oriented. Not a lot of options for overall entertainment. If you are in Itagüi...You are probably visiting friends. People from Itagüi go to the Mallorca Mall in Sabaneta approximately 15-20 minutes walk.
I’ve seen lots of videos on Medellin, but none about the gyms there. I live in a building in the USA with an Equinox in it. It’s great having an upscale, full service, non-crowded, well maintained gym available without having to travel or even face the elements, so I reduce the friction to working out. Are there any videos showing the best gyms in Medellin?
Hi. I just booked to stay for a month at Wake and now have just found your review. Very insightful!! I toured the construction project twice but i've not been back to Medellin since it was finished. Like you I was thinking of buying there but elected not to. I was told it was going to be the highest quality finishes etc etc but your review seems to prove otherwise. I've stayed at El Cielo, Click Clack and 23 for extended periods of time but thought it would be better to get an apartment this time. Do you think Wake is my best option? Thanks again!!!
Wow! How much is that? I'm gussing you're staying on a lower level without a view and one-bedroom. Prob $4/5k? For me, the view is the clear winner of the building. If you don't have that, I'd think again. Second is the outdoor space. All unit have that, but some have very little. Third is the common space which is better than most building. If you're paying $4k for 9th+ floor, prob can be worth it depending on the guest rules and how many guests you plan to bring back. I also know there are some really good deals in Medellin, espeically if you plan 30+ days in advance. I've rented some stunning apartmetns on a monthly basis for $2/$3k but most either dont' have a view/outdoor space and/or good common area. Depends on your needs.
Hola Danny, voy a Colombia en Mayo y tu resumen de Barrios en Medellin, es el mejor de todo lo que visto. Gracias mil. 👌. Voy en plan mochilero, please, algunos hostels que me recomiendes en Medellin y Cali?. Liked y suscrito. Saludos desde Mexico 🇲🇽 .
Antioquia is the Department or "State" of where Medellin and other cities, towns or pueblos are within. If you go to the city of Manizales you are in the Department or "State" of Caldas for example.
Medellin is capital of Antioquia, which is one of the Departments or states, hope you can visit our beautiful city Medellin, home of Latin superstars Maluma, JBalvin and Karol G, greetings from USA 🇺🇸 ❤🇨🇴✌️
Surprises me how many people overlook MANILA, it is a very traditional area in El Poblado, very affordable compared to Provenza or Laureles and just steps away from all the madness of Lleras. It has lots of restaurants and cafes. Airbnbs are half the price of you see couple of blocks away and the metro station is just meters away.

This should have a million views ... I would actually have paid to watch this, and would for any city I'm visiting. Thanks for making this.

that was a great and very informative video - thanks
Awesome and informative. Thanks Man.
Thank you so much for this great information- I was hoping to find this kind of info being my first time going there next year
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing video, thanks so much. I’m actually moving to Medellin in about 3 months and was actually looking to stay in Laureles.
It is a good choice! I'll be returning in that time. Best months are def Nov-Feb in terms of those perfect temprature days
Are you loving it there? I’m moving in December and I want to know do you like it? Is it up to your expectations? Thank you.
Best Explanation!
Thanks for super detailed review of Medellin 🙏🏼
My pleasure 😊
This kind of information is INSANELY valuable. Thanks for the vid :)
Best video on Medellin.
Really useful!! Thanks
GREAT VIDEO!!!
Excelent video !! Anybody here in medellin or in the states wanting some sapnish tutoring just let us now !!
great video thank you
Absolutely amazing AND VERY VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU, YOU HAVE A NEW subscriber....
Welcome!
wow! Thanks! I heard Poblado is more hilly and Laureles is more flat!
You are correct. Laureles and Belén are very walkable while Poblado is not.
I was staying in Provenza and am now in Sabaneta on Las Vegas road and I prefer Sabaneta. Poblado seems a bit sketchy as far as crime goes.

Thank you...I just went to Medellin and looking for a location to rent an apartment for my family

No conozvo hosteles de Cali pero en Medellin Masaya me gusto mucho per la terraza
Apparently older people would do best in Laureles because it's more walkable. Hopefully the air pollution is less there as well.
I'm going to make a video of the air pollution in Medellin neighbohroods when I return.
@@dannybooboo Right now forest fire smoke is back in the NY area again....
They Uber as well?
Do you happen to know much about any safer Estrata 3 or Estrata 4 area that are more authentic with fewer expats?
Belen
@@dannybooboo Thank you. This will be my first visit next summer.
cool. thanks for the maps! now I know. but what and where is Antioqua?

In which neighborhood famous prople live ?
They would probably live in Llando Grande or in the hills of Medellin
Is Sabaneta more economic & safe than Envigado?
Yes. No doubt.
Not necessarily true or false
Yes, we love Sabaneta ❤

Yup, plus the renovated park
Manila is my fave spot to stay. Much quieter and more mature than Lleras and tons of great restaurants.

MEDELLÍN IS NOT FOR SALE

Indeed. Apartments are not hotels.
In Bello there is a whole Jewish community made up of converts to Judaism. Thry have an extraordinary story.

@@dannybooboo What's so terrible about mentioning that. There are so many interesting things about Latin America!
