    Every year, me and my wife Kjersti spend a few days towards the end of the year in beautiful Vingelen, located near Røros This is where Kjersti grew up, and it's truly winter wonderland. Right up my alley. It's almost like a tradition now that I venture out on the 25th of December, to do some landscape photography in the snowy fields, sourrounded by frost covered trees and odd shapes. This is the first of two videos from this magnificent location.

    Really looks like a magical area. Both that morning and the shots you shared from the other days are fantastic. Some beautiful conditions. Love the soft tones. The beginning of the shoot with the blue skies really made that forest look like a wonderland. Loved it buddy. Great story telling as always.

    Nice film mate... always fun to watch and lovely images as a result! No winter down here in Sweden this year...so far no snow and hardly any frost! So you are lucky to have such beauty on your doorstep so to speak ...

    Oddbjörn Many Thanks for sharing this wonderful landscape. A super video & beautiful photos certainly portray the magical scenery that the snow & ice bring to the landscape. Probably the most unusual panoramic shot of a snowy scene I have seen but I love the simplisticity nature of the shot. As Mr. Sale said in his comment "nailed it" not just this shot but for the video & photos.. Really enjoyed your adventure almost as much as you... Brilliant

    I am catching up with your back catalogue and I loved this one. Images at 1:32, 13:58 and of course the 'lump' are brilliant. I hope we get some snow this Winter over here in Scotland so I can get out and take pictures.

      Thank you very much Keith. Gotta love the lump! hehe. This area of Norway is already starting to get a lot of snow, so I'm hoping I'm able to travel this year as well! Here's to a good winter.

    Wow, this was just idyllic! All the shots were wonderful, what an amazing way to spend Christmas. I loved the ‘lump’ picture! But more importantly, there were hare tracks 😮! When can we come?! 😅. Thanks so much for popping our video on the end screen too, we really appreciate that 🙂 Sam

      Idyllic seems an appropriate word 🙂 Loads of hare and elk. Also wolves, bears, lynx and wolverine, but only if you walk far and are lucky, hahah. You should definetly come over one winter if possible 🙂

    Gorgeous video and images, sir! As a landscape and product photographer, I am strongly considering this S1 and 24-105 f/4 combo. If I may ask, do you find the S1 sufficient for making large prints (30" x 40"), or do you use the High Resolution Mode, or the S1R? Thank you!

    • @oddbjrnaustevikfoto
      @oddbjrnaustevikfoto  4 года назад

      Thank you Steve! Mighty kind of you. I find the S1 more than sufficent for large prints, and I’ve printed larger than that with no problem at all 👍 Have not tried the S1r yet, but I’ve used HRM on the s1 a few times and it works well 🙂

  • @adavalle

    Very nice. You may wish to consider taking your video camera off the AutoWB mode. Your yellow jacket plays havoc with your WB. :-)

    • @oddbjrnaustevikfoto
      @oddbjrnaustevikfoto  4 года назад

      Thank you so much! Yes, my phone is not the best in snowy enviroments 😂 I think there is an app that let’s you control the WB but I haven’t around to it yet 🙂

    • @adavalle
      @adavalle 4 года назад +1

      @@oddbjrnaustevikfoto Perhaps you could place it on a set WB....5500 might work.
      But I'm not being critical. Just offering a suggestion. Great work!

    Why is the video turning blue every once in a while? Is it because of the yellow jacket?

    • @oddbjrnaustevikfoto
      @oddbjrnaustevikfoto  4 года назад +1

      It’s the auto White balance on my iPhone (which I use for vlogging). It gets confused in white enviroments 😂 I should just put it on a set number and let it be.

    • @behramcooper3691
      @behramcooper3691 4 года назад

      I thought as much. You should have chosen a white balance manually.

    Nice video and the images are stunning, if you don’t mind asking, do you enjoy your Lumix S1? I’m contemplating changing system from my GFX50R to the Lumix S1! More versatile for what I want to do in the near future. Thank you

    • @oddbjrnaustevikfoto
      @oddbjrnaustevikfoto  4 года назад +2

      Many thanks Bernard! That was very kind of you! I do enjoy the S1 a lot! Coming from the GH5 and the m4/3 system it’s a step up in many areas 🙂 especially the low light performance and dynamic range. that being said I am an ambassador for the lumix brand, so I really like the cameras they produce! I’ve been using lumix since 2016! Feel free to Ask any question you may wonder and I’ll try my best to answer 🙂

    Beautiful snowscapes. I love the snow, but we rarely get much here on the south coast of England. The last time, 2 years ago, we were in Florida watching it from afar 😥

    Wonderful landscapes! Reminds me to always set manual WB in these conditions. I just went to Voss and had a similar trip between snow-covered trees. Also on foot, although many others were skiing. Almost all pictures turned out very blue due to AWB on...You can see some of these pictures, vaguely similar to yours on my instagram (@thedavidbrother).

    • @oddbjrnaustevikfoto
      @oddbjrnaustevikfoto  4 года назад +1

      Thanks David! Yeah my iphone was reaking havoc with the WB while using it for filming, but the S1 was quite good. Photographing in raw also helps when adjusting the WB in post for the images 🙂 I like having the the WB towards cold when photographing snow and ice. Fond of a touch of blue 👍

    Love the landscape shots...there is something magical that happens to the landscape when frost or snow is added to the mix.It is one of my favourite times to photograph nature. We have the same conditions and temperatures here in the Okanagan Valley of BC,Canada...can't wait to get out and capture images tomorrow! Good to see a new video from you,look forward to the next one!

    • @oddbjrnaustevikfoto
      @oddbjrnaustevikfoto  4 года назад +1

      Yeah, I know, it’s all over the place. I know there is a video app that let’s you lock the white balance, but I haven’t looked into it yet. Thanks for the kind words 🙂👍
