Broadcast intrusions are fascinating to read about - amateur hackers with their own antennas breaking through high frequency signals to send the people messages, or just to play pranks!
Whether or not, the broadcast interruption is like an alarm system for TV because something bad is going to happen whether a "bad thing" hits the TV station. For the Pranks, it's still funny and absurd at the times but it's also serious.
Except for the one russian kid that broke into a broadcasting station and almost started a nuclear war. That was way too far off the line.

I studied with a lot of Chinese people in Spain and a Chinese girl told the class she was shocked when she found out about the person that protested against the tank episode.. pretty baffling
Well, rich Chinese parents usually send their kids abroad pretty early, so she might be too young to know or to get interested in things like that. Adults know a lot about that event but usually don’t speak about. My Chinese friend used to live in Canada since she was 16, she came back to China and found out she doesn’t know how everything works around here. I taught her to use QR-codes, WeChat and other routine stuff. But Chinese people don’t talk about politics, at all.

They've quieted every dissenting voice in China and disappeared everyone who refused to be quiet, including parents and friends of those killed.

The animation is pretty good
First off, the animation at the start looked so smooth, and secondly, tv broadcast interruptions are just so interesting to to learn about! It’s basically spreading a message to as many people as possible, and it’s quite effective too.
Not sure why Shaye Saint John is in the thumbnail, but still a good video nonetheless! Also I believe the Max Headroom guy held up a Pepsi can while saying Coke's catch the wave slogan to be funny.

I actually remember the Captain Midnight incident. I was actually watching when it happened. I originally thought it was a pissed off HBO or cable company employee. Apparently, I was the only one watching. I brought it up at school the next day and no one knew what I was talking about. But a few days later, the story came up on the news.

The Vrillon message is weirdly encouraging with the "Mankind would prosper" line.
I have a deep appreciation for the titles and thumbnails of these videos. The titles are often bombastic and wreathed in capitalization, but the capitalized words tend to only be highlights. The thumbnails are flashy and get attention, but not overly so and are often times completely accurate to the content of the video. It’s a fine line to tread, but I think you manage to do a good job.

As someone who was born and raised in Ocala, Florida (and got the hell out first chance she got), I must say I am very proud of Captain Midnight.

fascinating fact about the Solidarity union in Poland; it was largely socialist or at least social democratic. It simply didn't believe in the authoritarian forms of socialism enacted by the Communist Party in Poland, instead wanting a worker-driven, democratic government. There were some who were anti-socialist entirely, but for the most part, the organization was simply anti-authoritarian rather than anti-socialist or anti-communist. You even see this within modern day resistance movements in China, with many being anarchist or democratic socialist in nature. Just a tidbit on the history of some of the hijacking organizations
I actually remember my history teacher in high-school talking about it ( I'm from Poland and we were learning about post IIWW Poland/ Poland in the 80's). Solidarity or Solidarność played a big part in Polish history. If this didnot happen we would still be a communistic country

Zombies are very real - or at least they were. I recommend the book "The Serpent And The Rainbow" by Wade Davis. It's a sort of autobiographical detective/suspense novel detailing his time in Haiti as a ethnobotanist searching for the recipe and plants used to transform people into zombies. Basically it acted on the nervous system in a peculiar way, making the victim lose autonomy, yet still were conscious/awake inside their own bodies. It's a perfect way to get slave labor. There's a similarity with a new-ish drug in South America I think where if you get it blown in your face you become a zombie and can only take orders from the criminal. Difference being that there was a complete memory loss instead of being awake and not able to respond.

I may or may not have witnessed the first. Rather, I was in some friend's or my mom's work friend's house. The whole family was there, including these two older boys I got along with well. I remember even getting one of those small drawing mannequins you use for drawing. I remember specifically that the movie, "Lilo and Stitch," was on, and I conveniently went to go play with the wooden mannequin as an action figure (I was really into that stuff, haha). Anyway, as I was in the other room, I wanted to see my mom for some unknown reason. Maybe just to be with her. All of a sudden, I was stopped at the door of the room I was in. I didn't know what was going on, and no one would tell me anything, which made me assume something either amazing or bad happened.
I was very little at the time, though. Not necessarily a teen, but more a child/teenager. Maybe 10 or so. I'm 22 now, and I still oddly remember that piece of my childhood, as well as many other things that I'd rather not talk about. Not sure if it counts as a witness testimony, but I feel, somehow, that this and what I experienced were the same thing.
It's kinda weird how anyone would be tricked by a nuclear explosion on television, presumably of your neighborhood, but you aren't immediately dead, and right outside it's completely normal.

1. Search "japanese 18+ movie".
2. When results show up, click the filter option, increase the time limits to highest (since movies are lengthy and u don't want any other short video results).
3. I'd personally recommend "Forbidden Legend of Sex and Chopsticks". There is a slightly gore/bloody ending, otherwise the whole movie is nice.

I feel like the most likely thing on channel 7 was they reused a tape from a previous broadcast. Back when we used VHF if you recorded over the top of a recorded show it would sometimes show stuff from the previous recording in terms of stuff like ghosting or sound not properly erased.
I wish more hackers would interrupt broadcasts just to display some some bat-shit crazy, Avant Garde nonsense like in the Max Headroom Incident instead of your typical, boring political/religious intrusions. Those are a mere pastiche.
