I owned all three and ended up selling the 16 and 12mm . Like you said boils down to how you like to shoot. 10-24 is great for Real Estate and I have been taking it as my primary lens on travel to Europe. Absolutely love it.
I find the 10-24 such a great range for travels :) I use it for landscape, architecture, while the 35mm 2.0 for general purpose and portraits. I actually don't bring a long zoom. Plus, my smallish X30 point and shoot which has a built-in normal zoom 28-116 f2 to 2.8 for city walkabouts, and macro.
I actually swapped the 12mm for the 10-24mm, use it a lot for video and getting in the action at first dances, parties etc, no regrets, love the versatility and the autofocus.
I personally love to use the 10-24mm @ 14mm. Love that extra drama you get when going wide. But I get where you are going with this (and I never tried a rokinon). If traveling light is your thing, maybe the 16mm f/2.8 is for you.
Your point about a lens gathering dust deserves to be somewhere else, I totally agree. This is the second video of yours I’ve watched and I’m excited to find your channel. I like your ideas and your pics are 🤏🏻
I would keep all 3!!! I have the 16mm and the 10-24mm and love them both and don't neglect either one. The 16mm just rocks...I will say i had the Rokinon 12mm when i was using the Olympus M3/4 system before moving to Fujifilm and it was performance monster!
I've bought and sold several of the same Fuji lenses several times. I currently own the 35 f.14 for the third time and I also own my beloved 56 f 1.2 for the second time! Whatever your choice, you can always buy the same model back! I'm paraphrasing but,,, "Fuji...I can't quit you!"
Awww the poor 10-24, you hurt its feelings Omar 😢 - I guess I can't blame you, I really love mine for video use and for my photography but I will agree with you that sometimes it's just TOO wide and it's fun at first and then it gets kinda stale after a while. Shooting everything at 10mm gets boring and while it has a cool effect, it's often overused at times. But I keep forgetting its a zoom and I can zoom in for different compositions. I get what you mean by using the 16mm, now I have the little brother, the 2.8 version and it's more fun being restricted to that focal length, like you said you have to work the scene which in return makes for better photos. I've been questioning mine as well to be honest. Love the dramatic video man.
I own both the 10-24mmF4 and the 16mmF1.4, but I've never had the Rokinon. The 10-24mm is quite beefy and heavy, and I've seen myself not bringing it along when I go hiking for that reason. I did the first time, and never again. I would bring it only if I know I'm gonna need it. But every time I travel for city tourism, it comes with me alongside the 18-55. Especially if I'm doing street photography, possibly with architecture. It fits into a small slingshot bag and it isn't that bulky. And it's the most versatile, which isn't surprising, because it's a zoom lens, duh. But I think I use it mostly at 12, 14 and 20, with 10 and 24 being rare exceptions. The 16mm, on the other hand, is a weird focal length and I personally don't have many uses for it. I actually bought it for low light and astro, and also to have a WR wide angle lens, but I don't really use it enough to justify the purchase. However, it's come in handy for street photography at night (f/1.4) in crowded streets (wide enough, without being excessive) while keeping my ISO low, so it's my lens of choice for street and cityscapes at night. It depends a lot on what kind of photography you do, but I think the zoom is the most versatile and for what I do, I could live only with that lens 98% of the time that I need a wide angle. However, it's good to have one other wide lens with wide maximum aperture for low light. But the choice is very difficult. I think the 16mmF1.4 would be a better choice for street photography, since it's wide but not too much, and it lets in more light, so you can use faster shutter speeds; while the Rokinon would be better for landscapes, astro and architecture in low light, because it's noticeably wider. So, if I had to choose, I'd keep the 10-24 and the 16mm, because I do more street than landscapes or architecture at night. Plus, it's the only one of those three that is weather sealed, I believe.
If you’re into stopping down and making sunstars, the Rokinon 12mm makes funky-looking 6-pointed ones-I’ve read it has to do with the number of aperture blades.
It all depends on style of shooting, I have 10-24mm and love it. That would be my keeper number one, but hey everybody has different style and needs. If I go to Paris … Venice … or doing art street photography here in Melbourne… 10-24mm travels with me.
No spoiler alert here. Had all three but couldn't keep all three so kept just one. Why? I can't really afford to keep three wide angle lenses. 12m Samyang/Rokinon very sharp, lightweight and compact but awful distance markers didn't correspond to depth of field or infinity. Bought it for landscape and astronomical use and guessed at focussing on a Galaxy Far Far Away. 16mm f1.4 FABULOUSLY sharp quite heavy and limited focal range even though 24mm is my favourite focal range. 10-24mm versatile and sharp at most focal lengths exceptional landscape lens bit duff around 22-24mm. So guess what, I bought the exceptional 16-80 f4 to go with one of the three mentioned above then added a 55-200 and am set. I forgive you for your choice as with your photography style you are absolutely correct. Great vid as ever. I wonder which one I kept?
I have all primes in this range. The 16mm 1.4, the 23mm f2 and the Laowa 9mm 2.8. The Laowa is absolutely tiny (even smaller than the 23mm f2) with minimal distortion and excellent image quality. Great for travel. The 16mm 1.4 is larger but I could never part with it. It has a magical quality about it and allows me perspectives that I simply cannot achieve with any other lens.
Fun vid. Would have ditched the Rokinon (which I don’t own anyway and don’t plan on purchasing). The 16mm comes in second. Would never sell my 10-24; by far my favourite travel lens ever. Sharp, versatile, not too heavy and zooms in-body; no dust suck.
I have the 10-24 and 16/1.4 here to compare and I'm seeing all the same things you are. The 16 is glorious for photos. It makes damn near anything look so dramatic and beautiful and it is SO bright. But when recording video, the autofocus is incredibly loud - make sure you're using an external mic if you want to capture audio! And even then I can sometimes still hear the lens focus. It also seems to hunt a lot more than the 10-24 but I'm not sure if that's just because I can hear/feel the 16mm focusing. With the 10-24, the autofocus is dead silent but the internal mic in my XS10 pics up what I assume is the OIS noise. A constant mechanical-sounding hum that isn't there with the 16mm. UGH why do they have to be so expensive - they're both so good!
I've got the 16mm F1.4 and its brilliant! It is way more versatile than you would think and the image quality from this lens is simply stunning. I don't know about the other two lenses as I have never used them but I can certainly vouch for the 16 mm being awesome.
Enjoy your reviews! I am a landscape/nature photographer For me I love the 16 1.4 for closeups and astronomy. The lens I have on my xt2 most of the time is the 10-24. I love this lens. I also have the 50-140 2.8 when I want to zoom into a landscape. For me of these 3 lenses I would keep the 16 mm and the 10-24. Thanks again for your review.
So I do have the 16-55 and I LOVE that lens, however I'm shooting on the XT3 and I am a hybrid shooter that does video also. even though I have the 16-55 on a gimble I do find it's not super smooth for some real estate shots. I am shooting some interior of my house so I can rent it and the 16mm is just not wide enough I feel like. I'm also moving to Colorado next year and I think the super wide 10-24 would be a legit lens for landscape and nature and the fact it has IS I can shoot either in my small rig cage and or use it on the gimble. I could easily just rent the lens for about $50 for 2 day weekend but currently my only rental shop in HI isn't renting now because of a state wide lock down for COVID. "rolls eyes" Currently on the used market they are about $650-700
The 10-24 is stabilised which the other 2 aren’t. That copes with the f4 thing and makes it a good video lens too. I’ve got 1 and the 16mm too. Love them both as they do different things. Don’t have the Samyang, can’t see a need for it. If I had to give up a lens then the 55-200 would have to go as it’s one of the weaker performers in the Fuji line-up
I also own a Samyang 12mm and also got an excellent copy. It is razor sharp even at f2. Unfortunately this lens has several issues I’ve noted. Nasty lens flare and moderate distortion.
during the meanwhilst - the Samyang/Rokinon 12mm is easily dismissed against the more expensive native autofocus zoom lenses, but what it does have, apart from price, is incredible compactness and being light, to go along with great image quality. It’s one of those lenses if it broke, I have to get another one, and affordable enough that I can. And given I never seem to need to focus (I shoot at f8 usually, sometimes f5.6, at night f2.8), the lack of autofocus doesn’t bother me.
The XF 14MM F2.8 was my choice for a wide lens. Greta performance, sharp and about the size and weight as the 18-55 . I do have the 7artisans 12mm and that little guy is solid. Fun video thanks.
Thank you again Omar! I keep going back and forth with your videos. They really help me decide what to get next. I now have the x-T30 with the 18-55mm and the viltrox 56mm 1.4 (amazing lens for a budget user like me). I love the 16mm 1.4 but (no viltrox equivalent yet!) But the 10-24mm looks so useful... I want to shoot wide and vlog a little bit and fill indoors in small spaces so the 10-24mm looks like the way to go. BUT I love what you say about the 16mm making you a better photographer. I love prime lenses for that. I I think I could vlog and even film with the 16mm 1.4 and for stills I'm already sold on the 1.4 and on the possibility of "macro" shooting. Thanks a bunch!
The Rokinon 12 is un-heard of value. One annoying issue I had was that none of the manual focus Rokinons I have (2 different lenses)(..and also with other legacy lenses on a voigtlander adapter) is that the manual focus scale is not accurate because I've heard they make the mount a little short to make sure you can achieve infinity focus. Because the depth of field is pretty deep at 12mm, I eventually found my solution for this lens. Enter my Brother label maker with black label tape and white ink. By trial and error I made a label with distances marked that fits and looks perfect. The distance between 12' and infinity on the lens ring is less than 1/4". The lens now works fantastic for pre-focusing by estimating. Then lift camera and shoot. It is faster and more reliable than auto-focus in many situations. The only issue that remains with my little Rokinon 12 for my Sony a6500 is that it flares pretty badly, but I can usually be aware and work around that.
Bought used rokinon 12mm for 150 usd last summer for interior photography. Cheap and effective with A6000. And size! A6000+12mm+kit+youngnuo speedmite with trigger easily carried in my leather briefcase!. Just tripod is outside! Going to buy new very compact peak design tripod. In that case all including tripod will feet in backpack. Don't even think to buy something else as sony 10-18. For rest shots in interior where narrow angle needed using the kit 16-50.
I guess the thing is that although most photography RUclips channels act like they were catering to the needs of professionals the overwhelming part of the audience are hobbyists. And hobbyists - most of the time - are on a budget. So they are always looking for "The Best Camera" in all situations (which) doesn't exist and since there is tribalism and since there are insecurities and since there is status and so on there is a huge potential for conflict. I'm a photographer for 25 years now. I shoot semi professional for almost five years. And I don't think there is one perfect camera. The A7III might be close as a perfect all rounder but it's expensive with the lenses und you can't take it in dangerous situations and it's to big to put in in a pocket and so on... there will be no perfect camera since money and physics will always be factors too. What are doing professionals? They are using specific cameras for specific tasks. I myself am using Fuji for most of my professional work (which is mostly journalism and event photography). Why? Because it's relatively cheap, because there are two card slots and because it's good enough. On the other hand, by now I shoot film when I do street photography (because people who disapprove of being photographed seem to be less angered when you tell them it only was film). And I'm saving for a Sigma Quattro H for landscapes. Way? Because the sensor is out of this world and because the really bad high ISO and the terrible AF and the even worse writing speeds and the horrible handling don't affect me at all when I'm shooting landscapes on a tripod. Als long as people think they can The One Best Camera there will always be bitching about other peoples choices. People should realize that in life you use specific tools for specific tasks. A Porsche might be a great car but I would'n't transport a piano in one...
I'd have made the same choice, tbh, and for basically the same reasons. I prefer primes in general, but the Rokinon (Samyang) 12mm is actually at the wide edge of what I enjoy using and so good for the price. Plus, me and the 10-24 just never agreed with each other somehow.
Oh man, I could certainly use that lens. Just got my first Fuji camera to check out the system (used X-T1 from ebay). Anyway, great video and comparison of the 3 lenses!
Illogical choices, as far as I'm concerned. The Fuji lens is the highest quality. And unless you need the faster maximum aperture of the 16 mm, then the zoom lens also includes a 16 mm focal length.
Out of the 3 lens, I only own the Rokinon 12mm. I think it is light, sharp and the image distortion is not noticeable (I mean in the centre of coz). The downside is manual focus...
When I had the 10-24 I never shot with 16-24 range, Mostly 10-14 so missing the 10, I went with the 12mm for occasional wide shots, works great, its light, sharp.
It shows that you love that Rokinon a lot by the way the lens cap is super dusty haha! Great video! I love what you said about lenses that are not being used could be used by another person. My wife will be thanking you shortly for inspiring me to resell some of my unused lenses.
Good thinking. Thank you for sharing with us. Was really eager to find out what lense it would be. I am dreaming of owning these lenses too and of these three, I would probably choose the same two as you did.I like your samples and your explanations of your choices. Keep up the good work.
While dreaming about traveling in 2021, I pulled the trigger on a used Zeiss 12/2.8. I figure in my light travel kit, I can go Zeiss 12/2.8, 23/2, 50/2, and 16-80 with two bodies (X-T4 plus either X-Pro2 or X-T30). If I'm shooting event, that 16/1.4 is coming along. The 10-24's OIS would be very handy with my non-IBIS cameras.
I agree with your selection. I for one have wanted the 10-24 for a long time but because I have an adapter for my Nikon glass and have a ridiculously sharp Tokins 11-16mm, I never bought it.
The Rok rocks.. just be careful with bright backlit trees/subject as I got lots of chromatic aberration... but now they are B&W w/ ‘soul’. 16 1.4 is stupid sharp.
Hi Omar, I will be soon joining the Fuji owners club and I intend to get the Sigma 18-50 as my main kit lens. But for ultra wide angle, as I am shooting lots of landscapes, should i really for the Rokinon then or is there too little difference between 16 and 18mm to get the Fuji 16 1.4 ? thanks
hey , thanks for the vid I have 18-55 mm but looking to get a second lens. Am debating between the 16mm 1.4 and the rokinon 12mm. I have heard great things about the 16mm , however it is on the expensive side. Which would you reccomend? Thanks in advance
Muy buen vídeo !!! Entonces en tu opinión cuál te parece mejor lente ? El fujinon 10-24 ? Y porque no el 16 mm . Lo siento es que mi Ingles no es muy bueno y no entendí todo . Gracias 🙏🏼
totally understand your choice although I have been desperately trying to work out how to get the one your are getting rid off to try to get wider landscapes. I only have the 50 and 23 F3's and the 23 isn't wide enough for the landscape and architectural photos I want to take. Having said that, i love just traveling and shooting with the Peak sling 3 ltr. what ever fits in, is all that goes moto.
Gotta admit, nothing nails eye focus for an event shoot like an A7iii! Absolutely blows everything else away and makes shooting people in events so much easier. I have something like 98% focus hit rate and best high ISO image quality I've seen! Yet it's a tool and I have no emotional attachment to it!
Good decision, when I purchased the 16mm f1.4, I actually sold both the rokinon 12mm f2 and the 10-24mm, I found the 10-24mm had shit AF, nothing was consistently in focus, especially low light. and the 12mm well that was too much hard work Manual focus just slowed me down.
WARNING!!!! Do not watch this video before going to bed ! The tension, the drama! My adrenaline went crazy! I can`t sleep...anymore... Good thing there is nice music and great photos after. :) Great video and great choice Omar!
Hey I had a question, recently picked up a Fuji Xpro 2 Can you tell me how to get the Xpro 2 to stop displaying the image right after I snap a photo? No matter how I have "Image Display" set, continuous, 1.5 sec, .5 sec or off, I still see the image displayed. I find this very annoying and I would much rather have the camera go right back to showing my settings. Thank you in advance.
I was the one who thought you'll let go the Rokinon. I guess I underestimated you. That being said, I do own both 16mm Fuji and 12mm Rokinon, and they don't overlap, instead, they complement each other. And in regards to zooms, recently I picked up Fuji's 16-55mm f2,8 and in the real world, that's the only zoom lens that I need...
hi. i am a beginner. can you suggest me that if i wanted to shoot indoor normal fitness videos , then what focal length should i need ? and which lens would be more suitable for me ?
Just throwing it out there, if your requirement is to also be able to do video, even with money being no object, It seems the 15-45mm may literally be the only sub 16mm option with fast/silent autofocus, OIS and no wobbly corners in video? All the other options either have no OIS (IBIS+OIS works better than IBIS alone, especially with video), suffer from glare/flare (like the Samyang 12mm F2, I love it, but 50% of the time there is some light source that washes out all contrast!), 10-24 and Viltrox 13mm suffer from wharpy/wobbly corners and are really huge and heavy, the 14mm F2.8 has slow/loud focusing. What else is there??
i thought you will keep 10-24mm. I used to own 12mm, great build & image quality, but i shoot event, so af, ois and zoom make 10-24mm an indispensable tool.
It's fun to walk around with the Rokinon 12mm along with the XF23mmF2 and the XF50mmF2 and have everything I need for anything that does not require real telephoto, while requiring very little storage space. (Plus I'm on the X-H1, so lens stabilization is not an issue.)
I generally bring a Samyang (what the Rokinon is called in the UK) 12mm F2 and Fuji 35mm F2 as my 2 lenses of choice, however my issue with the 12mm is glare from every light source. If I'm indoors and there's a light overhead, it catches on the lens and washes out all contrast. It can be quite challenging to photograph anything where there is an artificial light source, I try to block it with my hand with limited success. Have you found this problem? Any solution?
Well, here's my take...I own the 16/1.4 and yes! It is truly an amazing lens. I rented the 10-24 just to see what if anything I'm missing. The 10-24 was a beast! it was HEAVY and I truly didn't see justifying the cost for the extra focal length vs. the 16...My landscapes work just fine with the 16 and the f4 while nice, just doesn't come close to the 1.4...in short, I wasn't that impressed with the 10-24. I can't say anything about the Rokinon 12mm because I have never used it, and I'm not interested due to the 16/1.4 being the best lens EVER (for me)...It lives on the X-T3!
I would replace the 16mm 1.4 (i have it and i'm selling it) and the 12mm for the Viltrox 13mm 1.4. Since I got the viltrox que 16mm as been staying at home. The 10--24 I would replace for the Sigma 10-18 2.8 if you prefer the larger aperture. I have the 10-24 WR that is great for landscape work so that a keeper for me
had fuji 16mm, 23mm, 56mm primes. then replaced them with fringer adapter, canon 10-18stm, 24mm stm, 50mm stm, 55-250stm and saved over $1000. to my surprise, I am actually satisfied with my decision.
@@rdgerdes Besides the lenses I have, I also tested it with a couple other lenses: canon 17-55 and sigma 18-35. I can only say from my experience, this adapter works flawlessly!
I have the 3 lenses and if you can afford it, keep all of them, you never know which one you need in which kind of work o trip. Anyway I have in total 6 lenses. also have 50-140 mm, 100-400 mm, 16-55 mm. Also interested in the 9 mm of Venus. In all trips, Will bring the 16-55 mm, 10-24 mm, 50-140 mm and 16 mm (1.4). I am a landscape photographer and also wildlife in the chilean Patagonia. Thanks for your interesting videos.
okay okay... you kept the Rokinon, but I do have to point out that it's the only one covered in dust (6:06) ;) I do have the Samyang version of this lens and it has a lot of character. I'm trying to love it more, but I'm leaning towards picking up the 10-24. Thanks for the review!
Hello from Vancouver! :) Great review. Trying to decide 12mm Rokinon vs 10-24mm for my hiking adventures :) After some time, do you have any regrets for decision?
You chopped my most used lens, hilarious. I now take only two lenses with me when I travel, that one and the new 16-80mm, and when I do landscape, I add the 55-200mm. However, given what I shoot, my choices make sense, just like given what YOU shoot, your choices make sense.
Great choice! I was originally going to pick up the 10-24 but then went with the 12mm because of the price and I absolutely love my 16mm 1.4. I was thinking you might keep the 10-24 for video but good choice.
As the XT3 and 16mm lens does not have image stabilisation will it noticeably effect the shot? I am looking to purchase both these and I was worried about this element. I want them for travelling so the majority of my shots will be street and landscape? Any advice would be great on this
I have the 23 1.4 and hardy ever use it. Always find myself shooting wider or longer. I think it’s time to change it out for the 16 1.4. That lens seems great for indoor environmental and wide angle street.
But the 23 1.4 is perfect for environmental portrait, expecially to one person. 16 maybe is too wide for one person and you get more prospectic distorsion
Hey Omar! I’m new to photography and have just bought a Fujifilm xt20 and love it! I’m thinking of purchasing a smart adapter as my dad has a few Canon lenses I can borrow and I would like the auto focus functions as for now I only have one manual kit lens. I just wondered what you thought about smart adapters. Love the channel especially the humour and none stuffy approach to photography it’s been super helpful so thank you!
Hey @Omar! I'm interested in buying a Rokkinon 12mm. Can you tell me where did you get yours, because of the variable quality apparently people are experiencing?
The Rokinon lens cap is screaming: "Wipe that dust off of me! Omar! Help!!"
That was what my first comment was going to be - 'Dust that lens cap!!'
@@mikecastles some of us know just what to focus on when watching Omar's videos 😂
I love how he keeps the lens that's literally gathering dust 😂
lens caps are over-rated
It shows how much he really uses it! Not very often......
I love that Rokinon! One of the best values for the buck in the X mount lineup
Omar, your videos are such a joy to watch for an amature photographer like me, they bring fun to photography.
So thank you!
I just got an 8-16 and now have to decide if i want to let go of my 10-24 and 16 1.4. I feel you man....1st world problems.
Man that 16 1.4 is magic, I'd never let mine go.
WOW!… That Rokinon dust cap is really earning it's keep!… LOOOL
For me personally, I would dump 2 of these lenses, the 16mm and 12mm (mainly because I don't own them already :) - the 16mm is on my wish list ;))
I probably would have picked differently, but I agree with “collecting dust” factor. Culling my herd as well. Dusty camera gear = no bueno
I have all those 3 and all of them are keepers..lol
Then I would let go....maybe the 90mm f2. I need and love the other fujis also, it won’t get better! Loveable lenses!
glad i was mistaken on the poll , i would chose the same, for the same reasons as you. as someone else said , waiting you to try the laowa 9mm 2.8 :)
If you're doing mainly landscapes then the 10-24 would be a great choice.
Keep 10-24 and get rid of other two. A zoom lens can also be prime by choosing fixed focal lengths.
"It's going to a good home."
Can it go to my home? I need it in my life.
"rolls eyes"
Currently on the used market they are about $650-700
Recently picked up 15-45 and now my 16mm 1.4 and 18-55 collecting dust, will probably find them new home too. Surprised with your choice though
It's a real sleeper if you can get over the zoom mechanism like I can.
I dumped both the 16 and the 10-24. The 12mm is perfect in my kit for the wide angles I need.
The 10-24 is stabilised which the other 2 aren’t. That copes with the f4 thing and makes it a good video lens too. I’ve got 1 and the 16mm too. Love them both as they do different things. Don’t have the Samyang, can’t see a need for it. If I had to give up a lens then the 55-200 would have to go as it’s one of the weaker performers in the Fuji line-up
The MUST GO lens is around 0:00-7:03! 🙌
LOL!
I plan to purchase the 12mm Samyang. I love primes and manual shooting... and the wide viewing angle makes it interesting for me.
@@godsinbox +1 (I'm very happy with my copy btw)
I also own a Samyang 12mm and also got an excellent copy. It is razor sharp even at f2. Unfortunately this lens has several issues I’ve noted. Nasty lens flare and moderate distortion.
I faced a similar decision a while back - I kept the 16 and the 10-24. I wish now I'd kept all 3 :-(
during the meanwhilst - the Samyang/Rokinon 12mm is easily dismissed against the more expensive native autofocus zoom lenses, but what it does have, apart from price, is incredible compactness and being light, to go along with great image quality.
Love my 10-24mm for the no thinking dramatic vivera images in the winter.
I loved looking at all your photos and see what you can achieve with each lens.
I love my Rokinon 12. Taking it along with my 18-55 and 55-200 on a two week Hawaiian cruise in the fall
All the photos are awesome! Keep the kit simple and keep the focus on the photography, love it!
Oh man, I could certainly use that lens. Just got my first Fuji camera to check out the system (used X-T1 from ebay). Anyway, great video and comparison of the 3 lenses!
I just ordered the 10-24 and I can't wait to put it to use.
I had the Samyang (Rokinon) 12mm but sold mine when I got the Fuji 10-24mm XF.
The one you are letting go is the one I'm thinking of buying 😅
haha...it's a good lens...enjoy!!
There are wants, needs, and use. If you find that the two that will stay will be of more use, then you've made "your" right choice.
totally!
I just got a used Rokinon 12mm F2.0 and I'm loving it already.
I get your choice, love my little Rokinon - and was undecided between the 10-24 vs 16. I do a lot of starscape photogrpahy.
But for ultra wide angle, as I am shooting lots of landscapes, should i really for the Rokinon then or is there too little difference between 16 and 18mm to get the Fuji 16 1.4 ? thanks
I see Omar video, I like then proceed to watch!
The lens I least thought you were going to chop got chopped!
Great video, very suspenseful and fun! Do it again!
hey , thanks for the vid
I have 18-55 mm but looking to get a second lens.
Sell the Sony system!!
The system with the best AF.?? lol......eh no way!
I sold my a6500 today.. you're next!
@@quikee9195 Maybe...if that next Canon Mirrorless has everything I NEED!
I don't really consider any lenses slower than f/2.8 for my Fuji system. This the main reason the 10-24 hasn't seen my credit card.
I have the same wide combo Rokinon 12mm f2 and Sigma 16mm f 1.4... well almost the same. I am keeping both.
LP
hi. i am a beginner. can you suggest me that if i wanted to shoot indoor normal fitness videos , then what focal length should i need ?
and which lens would be more suitable for me ?
I tested the roki for a whole one hour before immediately returning it
It's fun to walk around with the Rokinon 12mm along with the XF23mmF2 and the XF50mmF2 and have everything I need for anything that does not require real telephoto, while requiring very little storage space.
Rokinon is nifty. Good for astro and all the (rare) needs for wider than 16mm.
I have the 10-24 WR that is great for landscape work so that a keeper for me
had fuji 16mm, 23mm, 56mm primes. then replaced them with fringer adapter, canon 10-18stm, 24mm stm, 50mm stm, 55-250stm and saved over $1000. to my surprise, I am actually satisfied with my decision.
cool!
BumKi...I switched from Canon to Fuji, love it. But, I'm having trouble parting with my Canon 100-400. How do you find the Fringer Adapter works?
Just bought the Samyang (Rokinon) for $185 here in the UK. Can’t wait to get out to use it.
Hi Omar! I’m thinking whether getting a X-T2 or a X-T30. What do you think? Can you make a video on that? Thanks!!!!
okay okay... you kept the Rokinon, but I do have to point out that it's the only one covered in dust (6:06) ;)
I do have the Samyang version of this lens and it has a lot of character. I'm trying to love it more, but I'm leaning towards picking up the 10-24.
Thanks for the review!
I have the rokinon, I love it but I also love the small size of the 16 f2.8 and its AF... Should I change?
I got rid of my 10-24 for the 16. I prefer the 1.4 and crazy close focus. Idk about the Samyang so can't say.
I have the 10-24 WR and I am not using it much. I have since adde the 18mm f1.4 and the Samyang 12mm and it seems that the 10-24 will have to go.
Yep I’m screaming at my iPhone, lol...
Hello from Vancouver! :) Great review. Trying to decide 12mm Rokinon vs 10-24mm for my hiking adventures :)
After some time, do you have any regrets for decision?
rokinon is known for being good for astrophotography. i haven't tried to shoot starry skies with my 16mm 1.4 but the rokinon does a great job.
Get rid of all three, replace them by the awesome 8-16 mm Fuji red badge lens... it’s expensive, but man is it amazing!
Totally with you on your decision. BUT, what if you were to keep just one lens??? Ahhhhh, the pressure!
Have you tried the 14mm F2.8? I am thinking to pair that with the 35mm F1.4. (I would like the 23mm but think it's too close to the 35)
