    Just had a broncoscopy & everything went perfect. The mass found in my lung turned out to be an inflammatory mass, thank God. I have sarcoidosis. They also tested for molds & other things, too. Thank you, University of Penn. Great doctors! I had to drive 1.5 hours each way a few times & still need to go back for a pulmonoligist who is on a special team of doctors that doesn't happen locally where I live. Make the trip to see doctors who do this EVERY DAY, not a couple of times a year.

    Wow! I wish you were my Dr. Lung nodules, ground glass, heavy smoker. Been having CT scans every year for 5 years. Last year doctor said I had lung infection. 3 months later I asked if I had a lung infection, would an antibiotic help. He said I didn't have a lung infection. I reminded him that 3 months before he said that I did. So now I'm having these "cancer screenings" once a year. Time for another one and I'm just done. I can't get any straight answers from this guy. It's a merry-go-round and I'm jumping off.

    they done the needle with me when i went in for a biopsi, went threw my back into my lung talk about hurt man i dont wish that on anyone,,wish they would of done what he was talking about bronchoscope, but any how i was diagnost with stage 4 cancer adenocarcinoma an nodules in my chest also an liver, an other area's,,, i just had my pet scan march 24th an it showed that the chemo an immune therapy showed that my caner shrunk 50 percent, an the liver the tumor is gone, an the ones in my chest gone, but the left lung i only got the one left but its still pretty big it was 2 1/2 inches now its 50 percent shrunk ,, wish they could just cut it out of my lung but my dr said no to risky cause i have caner also in my bone not in the bone marrow but the outside of the bone, still dont know why they can not just remove my lung but hope the immune therapy will kill it,, they went from telling me i will live less then a year an now they said they are hopeful that i will live now 2 years or longer, kinda scared but yet it is what it is hope an pray the immune therapy works an they come out with new drugs

Got a partial pneumothorax from the needle biopsy, it corrected on its own. Have already had an upper left resection 4 years ago. I'd like to just get zapped if I can....

    Great explanation of procedures! Do you recommend a bronchoscopy if a nodule in the lung has decreased in size from 3cm to 1.8cm to 1.0cm? That's where I stand right now and am concerned because I've read that even smaller nodules can be malignant.

    I loved your explanation. I am a 5 year kidney cancer survivor. Before my surgery, I had a CT scan of my lungs and 3 nodules were found. I had a needle biopsy of one nodule and the findings were scar tissue. Since Feb. 2017 I have had 9 CT scans monitoring these nodules. 2 more have appeared over 5 years with the largest being 7 mm, the smallest 2 mm. I am scheduled to have another CT scan in Nov. 2022 but I’m afraid that all of this radiation is going to create lung cancer! I’m considering contacting my pulmonologist and telling him I don’t want another CT scan. What are your thoughts?

    • @karenimran3349
      @karenimran3349 6 месяцев назад

      I had a pet scan on February 1st after two CT scans. On the CT scans it showed I had a lung nodules, after getting a PET scan it didn’t light up as cancer. I’ve had a conversation with the surgeon who tells me surgery is risky. I have a 6 mm ground glass nodule which hasn’t changed in size since the CT scan in August and December.
      I like you was concerned about getting a PET scan, but I guess it’s done as to get an in-depth look at what’s going on.
      Hope all goes well.

    I’m having trouble finding a doctor who understands what I’m asking for when I ask for an advanced bronchoscopy rather than the recommended biopsy through my chest. I’ve already had a basic bronchoscopy, but they were unable to take biopsy sample with that method. My diseased area is at the periphery of my lung and they said they wouldn’t be able to reach. What should I be asking for? Robotic Assisted Bronchoscopy? Endobronchial Ultrasound? Thank you!

    I'm an 11-year breast cancer survivor, with 11 years of alcohol sobriety. Just 2 days ago, I went to hospital for an X-ray of possible ammonia. A large mass size of "grapefruit " or 10cm. Found in the upper right lung with ammonia/infection showing. Doc wants to do a needle biopsy similar to what I had done to my breast.. No way No how, just NO .. So here are "my own " options either he agrees to do a bronchoscopy or I, take up drinking again and live out whatever I have left of my life pickled.
    This doctor told me it's iffy getting enough cells for a good read. But you're here saying it's almost better. I believe he's a rookie or likes causing unwanted pain!!
