  • Ashley had no symptoms and never suspected she had stage 4 lung cancer. She shares how she went to the hospital, for a gynecological issue, and during a CT scan doctors discovered nodules on her lungs. She was then diagnosed with stage 4 EGFR+ non-small cell lung cancer.
In this cancer vlog, she shares how she processed her diagnosis, how she takes a daily pill (Tagrisso) instead of infusion chemo and how cancer has changed her perspective and outlook.

I have terminal heart issues. I have had open heart surgery twice, and cannot have more. I have two pig valves that were installed in 2020; they have a max 10 year life span. When they run out, I run out. But because my condition doesn’t have the name ‘cancer’, I don’t get the kind of attention and love you describe. I never hear from anyone, including my family who knows all about my condition. I’m not sure how we bring attention to heart disease like cancer has. But cancer is not the only disease that gives you a new view of life; I am grateful for every day. I wish you all the best and a long life.

I was diagnosed with stage four Lung cancer in 2017. 2016 I had drop foot and had a low back surgery that did nothing for it. So with surgery you have to have a MRI, Cat scan and then a chest X-ray. So then I had terrible arm pain 5 months later. Another MRI and Cat scan. Doctor decided I needed a neck surgery. So another chest X-ray. This was December 2016. My pain did not go away. Steady got worse. I had high blood pressure from the pain. I couldn’t think my arm hurt so bad. So the doctor wanted another cat scan. I decided to go to a different facility for this one. That afternoon they called and said I need to go see my General Practitioner. They had sent the results to him. I never heard from the doctors office that ordered the scan and had done the neck surgery to this day.
So he told me I had cancer and not to do any crazy cures he said to do what my oncologist recommends. So I found an Oncologist that is well known and liked. So I saw him in June of 2017. I asked him how long did I have Lung cancer. He said over a year. And none of the people reading my scans caught it. Really makes you wonder about our health care.
Anyway I did a round of Chemo. Did nothing for me. In February 2018 I started Immunotherapy with the drug Keytruda I did almost three years of infusions every three weeks. I am currently showing no sign of disease for over two years at least. I get mixed up on times. I credit God and him giving humans the intelligence to produce the medicines that cured me. And I thank my doctor and all the nurses who have taken care of me. They have all been wonderful.
I hope you have the same outcome and as I have had.

I am also a Stage IV NSCLC warrior, non smoker. I had zero symptoms, that I knew of anyway as I have had lupus for many years so I am very use to not feeling 100%. I had no cough or shortness of breath, I work full time, hike pretty much every weekend and surf. One year ago, pretty much to this week, I developed a bad cough and sore back but I was just getting over Covid. Within one week, I was having a hard time walking from my bedroom to my couch. My husband was away on business and I just kept saying, “I’ll be fine, it’s just another lupus flare”. He got home and I was literally green laying on my couch and off to the ER we went. My hemoglobin was down to 3.5 and I needed 3 blood transfusions. After CT scans I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I am doing 2 IV chemotherapy drugs along with immunotherapy every 3 weeks. I am going in for my 11th treatment on Friday. After my 6th treatment my scans showed the tumor is down by 30%. Other than fatigue I have very few symptoms, the worse thing for me is the hair loss. Im continuing to work, although I’ve needed to take days off just to sleep. Hope you are doing well.

Jeff De Prosperis “Blessings On My Journey” has a wonderful channel chronicling his protocols, stage four colon cancer. Diet is important. Sugar feeds cancer, fasting allows mitochondria to repair. Doctors telling you to live your life are not doing you any favors you need to be proactive.
You’re beautiful and your positive personality is wonderful. Prayers for your healing!

Ashley you and your loved ones are in my prayers. I pray all works out for you as you are so young and so vital. I was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer in October of last year. My case is a lot different as I am a 73 year old woman with other health issues. I had a great doctor that told me the facts and didn't try to talk me into treatment. I had only 1 option for treatment and it was a clinical trial I might qualify for. The doctor told me that could possibly buy me a year to a year and a half. Since the outcome was like that I decided not to do any treatment and live out my time being with my family and living my life to the fullest extent possible. My only concern was that my son would understand why I chose not to have treatment. Thankfully he understood perfectly and is now with me every step of the way. God bless and keep you and yours in the best of spirits and keep your faith strong.

It was also a GUT PUNCH 🤜 to us 😭😭💔💔 our 7 yr old son had been playing sports 🏈 football when he started complaining that his knee hurt we eventually to him to dr and he ordered an X-ray I stopped by the next day to see if he heard anything and that’s when THE GUT PUNCH 🤜 was delivered and I fell to my knees 💔💔💔💔 a parents worst nightmare 😭😭 life as we knew it was gone ….Anyone like you that are lucky 🍀 enough to be able to take a pill once a day are so fortunate that that is available 👍 our son had to be in the hospital for 5 days a month and I will tell you it was a long 5 days 😷😞 we never left him alone in the hospital dad took him on a Monday and on Wednesday I would leave work pick-up our 6 yr old daughter and go straight to hospital and dad comes home with sissy ❤️ luckily we worked as a team ❤️ not so much for the other families 😷

My grandmother smoked since she was 12. In her 70s, 1 lung collapsed. Dont know what else was found in that lung. But she was living on the other lung until 88 (she was still smoking) when she passed from something else and it wasn't even anything wrong with the other lung.
