This has been one of my favorite homes shown so far. I appreciate the couple going for a modern day tech home. Many people don't like tech because they don't understand it and how it can improve their everyday living experience. But, its also bulky and can clutter rooms and counter tops. This couple knew those things ahead of time and planned to still add them. However, they moved them to places a guest would never know was their. Also to Zach's point at the end. This will defiantly be an inspirational home for many people. Thank so much for sharing and enjoy your forever home.

Back to watch again a year later. This home is so incredible. I'm a huge fan of shed roofs and rustic modern is my favorite design. I live in a small log home and use a lot of modern elements to break up the wood and give it a fresh, updated feel. This however is a dream home! In fact, most every Golden Eagle Log and Timber Home I've seen is a dream home. Beautiful!
As someone else who is a full time remote worker and also in tech, who wants to build a Golden Eagle home, I really wish I could pick Ellen/Scot's brains and experience throughout this process.

What ISNT my favorite feature?! This was a treat after watching the first video and Zach’s inspo home and wondering how it all turned out! Loved the wood burning stove framed as a fireplace, the butler pantry, the treehouse….
I know this video was posted some time ago but was surprised when I came across it and started watching. I truly though this home and it’s size was comparable to a tiny home. I was pleasantly fooled. The couple’s personal touch is sprinkled throughout the house, leaving a footprint that mirrors each other’s style. Madam had something to say about everything that was covered. She led this tour and showed how invested she is was in this build, Might I add, the way she went about it was classy and impressive. Her input is what kept me watching this video in its entirety. Great work!😊
I love how tech savvy they are and were able to incorporate so much into their home, including future plans. But little details like the glass rinsing and smart toilets top my list. But what could possibly beat the inclusion of the *Party Shower* ?!
Is she an engineer? I like the way she thinks! Im a female engineer from high tech also, but now mom and part time misc work! Shopping for our future house now. Lots of good ideas and gorgeous home. I wish homes werent so expensive as i can do some construction myself like interior work and excavation.

I am obsessed and impressed by every tour I watch with the Golden Eagle log and Timber Homes !!!! Omg I am always loving the different ways folks have their fireplaces ! I liked the way they had a butlers pantry fixed where she could have all her crock pots , coffee maker, blender , can opener ect already out plugged and ready , she said her friends could plu in their crock pots and put their dishes too - loved that idea !!!! I also never realized you could have a locking doggie door for security- how great is that because it’s one of the reason I was afraid to have one was for fear of someone entering thru the dogs door !!!! I loved their thoughts for “black” out blinds in bedrooms. I have loved the electric blinds I have seen in several of the homes in between window panes. 🤩👍
I love food, and I love cooking, so the kitchen and butler's pantry stole the show for me. But I also loved the screened porch, the finished garage, workshop, window wells, etc. And the doggo is a cutie. 🥰 They're a lovely couple, and theirs is a beautiful, extremely well-thought-out home.
I'm impressed with the fusion of modern and rustic blended together so effortlessly. This house is special..... Great attention to detail and imo a very unique style. Style, color combo, details & overall consistency design throughout.This house checks all those characteristics spot on.The views the views and more views. You can tell a lot of time went into thinking things through.Plenty of modern tech conveniences in a country style home. Excellent.

I recently branched out and trie to watch other log home walkthroughs on RUclips and I had to stop. None of the other channels are doing videos as high quality and informative as these. You guys spoiled me. Thanks for showing a tech forward home. So many good ideas!
I absolutely love this home. It's exactly what I want for my house someday... right down the very last detail...all of it... including the distance from the main road (long driveway). The rustic modern look, I love. All I need to do is win the lottery.
Beautiful home and there is a lot of great features I think the 220 outlets in the garage definitely come in handy for someone who actually uses the garage for more than vehicle storage/
Beautiful house! So many great details and material and design choices. They did get a great balance of that rustic and modern. I feel like the solar design is completely backwards though. I had that thought at first when the huge windows were on the hot west side and they minimized south windows (which can give you indirect sunlight in the summer and direct, warming winter sun). I wouldn't have mentioned it, but when solar gain was specifically mentioned in the garage it made me laugh that from what I've learned about passive solar design, it was kind of opposite.

You are correct. :) The energy considerations for the home weren't the focus of the video and I probably shouldn't have opened the door by mentioning solar gain - this topic is huge and deserves its own content! Most of our commentary around the home's orientation, the geothermal systems, other site variables and personal preferences that led to our final decisions were off topic and appropriately cut. (It would be so fun to do a video on the decision making process, though!) For anyone interested in this topic, please don't take our decisions on home orientation, window placement, exterior materials, or anything else as advice. Ellen and and I planned for two years before construction, working through seemingly endless options and tradeoffs to make sure we would would end up with the spaces and views we desired AND a comfortably efficient home. We are very happy with the outcome!

I was disappointed to hear all that window in the Living Room gets the hot evening sun. I like a lot of window just like this couple, but I would want my living getting the morning sun instead. I'm sure they had their reasons which are fitting to them. I'm in my 60's, retired and 2 things I have ALWAYS made sure that my Living/Den and Master Bedroom do NOT face the evening sun. Of course I live in the South. Shades, Curtains don't keep the heat out. Your Electric Bill is higher just to cool off if the windows are facing the sun. And I Like to enjoy OPEN Blinds in my Living room Windows. I WANT TO SEE THE OUTSIDE. And then when you go to bed (in the South), you can feel the heat and humidity in your bedroom if it faces the Sun in the evening.
Love the modern and rustic balance. The kitchen is something that is important to me as well and I love how they designed it. That island is awesome, the added pup feeder is a smart feature and the appliances are very cool too. The whole house is beautiful and highly functional. I love the high ceilings, but I really didn't see a super homey, cozy living area. But I could see myself enjoying that deep couch. Could be a different feeling in person Im sure. Beautiful home.
I love the mix of modern and traditional styles in this home. This is similar to what I'd like to build for myself one day. It's just about perfect, but the one thing I'd change is to add a black standing seam metal roof, instead of the asphalt shingles. A high end home like this should have a more special roof, in my opinion. Other than that I love this house!
I actually agree! We really wanted to do a metal roof but they are considerably more expensive. We did learn they can be added later! So the home might get an upgrade one day :)
What did I love about this home? Even though it's a nice size home, they made sure to utilize every space and made it functional. I even loved that the couple camped on the property for a year first before they started to build. They made that connection with their land. Love their home and Golden Eagle did a fantastic job.
My favorite rooms are the kitchen and living room. Don't need any of the rest. Well maybe a bathroom. Lol It's a beautiful house and all the details are well thought out and it's positioning on the lot is perfect. I love the really high ceilings. Those storms and tornadoes came through there a few days ago. I hope you all are safe and escaped any damage.
I am on board with their style as well. I love modern homes, but built with natural materials, lots of wood, stone, etc. I'd also love to know what tech jobs pays them enough to afford this project.
Kudos to the Home Owners! Spectacular in every way~ have a fav? EVERYTHING! The TREES, views, the Entire Home, just everything. PRE PLANNING pays off! I live in Flagstaff, AZ & This home would be spectacular upon this Mountain and all the Pine Trees! WOW!
Finally a person that know about cooking talking about a kitchen.... I can't wait until I don't have to camp out, although be it I can cook anywhere, and build that home and my work places.... Kitchen and office are designed....also a large car garage.... indoor pool.... and spa area..... also nice master with a sitting area....with wet bar.... LOL
I don't normally care much for streamlined architecture. I prefer the beauty of old craftsmen style such as Victorian, Colonial and even much older. However, this was extremely thoughtful in the materials, textures and colors. Made it a very beautiful home. And I love how the woman of the house was color coordinated with the house! Just wonderful!
Decoration aside - because it’s not my favorite… they truuuuly utilized their space and made every corner of this home functional. It’s not a mansion in the least but yet it certainly seems like a very large home. Well done!

I love the mix of modern and traditional styles in this home. This is similar to what I'd like to build for myself one day. It's just about perfect, but the one thing I'd change is to add a black standing seam metal roof, instead of the asphalt shingles. A high end home like this should have a more special roof, in my opinion. Other than that I love this house!

I actually agree! We really wanted to do a metal roof but they are considerably more expensive. We did learn they can be added later! So the home might get an upgrade one day :)
What did I love about this home? Even though it's a nice size home, they made sure to utilize every space and made it functional. I even loved that the couple camped on the property for a year first before they started to build. They made that connection with their land. Love their home and Golden Eagle did a fantastic job.

I am on board with their style as well. I love modern homes, but built with natural materials, lots of wood, stone, etc. I'd also love to know what tech jobs pays them enough to afford this project.
I think this will become very popular over the next 30 years.

Finally a person that know about cooking talking about a kitchen.... I can't wait until I don't have to camp out, although be it I can cook anywhere, and build that home and my work places.... Kitchen and office are designed....also a large car garage.... indoor pool.... and spa area..... also nice master with a sitting area....with wet bar.... LOL

I don't normally care much for streamlined architecture. I prefer the beauty of old craftsmen style such as Victorian, Colonial and even much older.
However, this was extremely thoughtful in the materials, textures and colors. Made it a very beautiful home. And I love how the woman of the house was color coordinated with the house! Just wonderful!

Decoration aside - because it’s not my favorite… they truuuuly utilized their space and made every corner of this home functional. It’s not a mansion in the least but yet it certainly seems like a very large home. Well done!
