That’s a gorgeous house. Someday I hope to own a home like this. I can imagine waking up in the morning on Christmas with a fresh cut tree sitting around that fireplace with my kids.
Beautiful home! The workmanship is amazing. You all really know your craft. Great work. So interesting to see the various stages of the build. Thanks for taking time to show us around. God bless you.
It would look good in Germany… Just before Covid hit I was in communication with a number of Europeans, including a German family just north of the Black Forest area and things were getting more serious for log home there, but then Covid hit and that didn’t come to pass, but I still dream of building one of our homes in Europe.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial The problem still exists in Germany, or rather it has worsened. The requirements, permits and regulations are getting crazier and crazier here. For example: It must be proven that no rare species of animal lives on the property, no "valuable" old trees. Monument protection, sealing regulations, building size, etc. Building in Germany is no longer fun. Saxony is one of the eastern federal states and I live in the three-country corner of the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany.
Yes, part of me wishes. I would’ve built a house exactly like that on our property. Instead, I’ve got a custom one that is nice, but I think this one really checks all the boxes.
We built a custom home in Bigfork, MT in 1998. We were one of the first to use Sierra Pacific windows and doors. In fact, they used a video of our home in their advertising. They made a great product then and stood behind it. And it looks like they still do. Congratulations to the owner who has a great spot on the lake. Ours wasn’t log, but we used a lot of log internal supports and accents. Of course, the issue with logs is the maintenance and staining every few years.
I have an Ashley wood burning stove in mine. 24ft ceiling, so the stove pipe is 21ft long, and that pipe generates enough heat for the whole house. Only problem is it gets too hot upstairs, so you need good fan power to push the heat back down and spread it out throughout the house. It just doesn’t reach the back bathroom, so I have gas furnace there. But you can load that thing at 8am and come back at 4-5pm to a bed of coals and a warm house without ever turning the heater on.
A log home has always been my dream. A 4 bedroom 2 and a half bath with an upstairs kitchen has always been my vision. No drywall. No 2x4, 4x4, etc. All log.
The exterior has a wood stain applied and you can soak the exterior in a borate solution before stain which might help. We haven’t had a termite problem.
Recently went on a Euro trip. Did the Netherlands, Germany Austria and Italy. The windows there are on a different level. Very solid, beefy and soundproof. They have uds beaten on that front
Yes I know. The Hart’s Content was the first one we built for you. For those who don’t know, Steve and Lisa‘s Hart‘s Content burned to the ground in 2021 and then in 2022 we built them a new different model. You can follow their journey on this channel.
If you stop the video at exactly 9:44 and focus on the rear door you will see daylight between the foam and the cutout over the door. Probably should replace that foam with a piece that fits or your going to have a serious air gap
No worries. Any gaps that are found are corrected and filled with either a spray foam or sinking, which is a caulking is going to take care of that also. This takes place at a later date.
Elvie, Another beautiful creation. I'm curious if those logs with the black marks are from being in a forest fire? Thank you for taking time to build, film, edit and post this video.
What a beautiful location. What wouldn't I give to live in a place like that. Maybe it's the camera angle, but the garage opening appears quite narrow to be a 2-car.
Hard to believe but Years ago ('79 or so ) a nice log home was built in the center of Los Angeles, not sure what it was but they did... IT was my dream for years until I retired on 5 Acres in Oregon........ I now live in one of those Log Homes , somewhat weathered but thats a perfect patina ......... This home is Beautiful and as time goes by it will get better.. NICE JOB !👍👍👍
Actually, about 10 miles in the direction back toward Libby is about a dozen lakes in a string called the Thompson chain of lakes. This area has a lot of lakes.
If I ever win the lotto, I'm getting the Montana Lodge cabin floor plan. 🤣 I know its an extra cost but do you provide services and supplies for everything that's in the "What's Not Included In Log Package" list?
I played it a few times, and I can’t see the crack that you’re talking about. I wonder if it’s maybe sunlight or the way the light shines on the concrete.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial I don't know what to say. It's very obvious at 1:43. There is a black line on top of the concrete slab slightly to the right of center. The line extends down the side of the slab about 6 inches, to the dirt. Is it really a crack, or is it a wire? A very thin tree branch?
This home is probably about one and a half million dollars, but you could talk to Ben at the Meadowlark Log Homes office and he can get you better information.
There is a metal stove insert that goes inside and rock on the outside so it’s all fireproof. I guess it’s an American style of fireplace building, a wood frame covered in rock and a fireplace insert on the inside.
House is beautiful and the windows and doors are nice too but I don't understand why when building a house in bear country the doors and windows aren't thicker or more practical. I've only seen one person build a log cabin and the door matched.
@AmishMeadowsOfficial I'll keep that in mind...I've been wanting a place on that lake and your company did a fantastic job with the cabin. We'll see how this year unfolds for me and my wife...but will definitely reach out when we are ready. Thank you
Been building since i was a kid we look similar in age. Are you hiring i could pretty much build whatever you see fit. Relocation is needed. Thanks, Chris
Before buying, check with your insurance!!! I own a log home and almost couldn't find an insurance company who would give me coverage. I found one but ut us very expensive. !!!
GOD BLESS YOU. MY FAVORITE HOME IS LOG CABIN. YOUR PARENTS LOOKED WELL AT THE CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION. ICH LIEBE DICH HERR GOTT DANKE SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
log homes look so nice but their so expensive to build because you have to hire a contractor to do the foundation then another contractor to finish the inside then you have to pay to have the house stained.
“Real rock fireplace” with a plywood frame? Whatever happened to good old fashioned wood burning fireplaces with real fire brick and mortar??? In Montana no less?!🤦🏻♂️
That’s a gorgeous house. Someday I hope to own a home like this. I can imagine waking up in the morning on Christmas with a fresh cut tree sitting around that fireplace with my kids.
That would be a wonderful Christmas morning!
This is one of the coolist houses ive ever seen.
Very nice.
They build some of the most beautiful homes you've ever seen! You should see the store they have, if you haven't already. 🤩
Beautiful home! The workmanship is amazing. You all really know your craft. Great work. So interesting to see the various stages of the build. Thanks for taking time to show us around. God bless you.
Wow, what a fantastic house. Plus the large plot and the breathtaking view of the lake. Thanks for showing and Happy New Year from Saxony/ Germany

Beautiful. First time I've heard anyone talk about how much a log home settle! No idea it was 2 inches! Wow! That's why you guys get the big bucks!
Yes, the settling is quite significant!
@@AmishMeadowsOfficialReally? It's wood and organic material. It's also very durable and almost all log houses in Finland have adjustment screws.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial in the kingdom of God, we will have houses exactly like that. A dream house.
Ours settled out after 5 years, 4", we had 6 rebar we had to keep tightening in the basement, one top log twisted and snaped the rebar.
This is a gorgeous house.. beautiful view😊.. Thank you for sharing 🎉
We're glad you enjoyed it!
That's really cool to see that house we delivered on McGregor Lake. Blessings my friend!!!!
Say hi to Terry. Happy New Year!
Wonderful looking home well done to the owner.
Thank you!
Great looking home. I’m very familiar with Meadowlark Homes. You all are wonderful people to work for and have a great company overall!

It is a good idea to include some interior frame walls in order to run plumbing and wiring.
Holy smokes that’s a nice house…gotta be a multi millionaire to have that size cabin next to the lake
It is a nice house
Awesome set up
Thank you!
Beautiful area, so peacefull.
It really is a beautiful and peaceful place.
This is so gorgeous! I love all of your work. How do you treat the wood for termites?
The exterior has a wood stain applied and you can soak the exterior in a borate solution before stain which might help. We haven’t had a termite problem.

Good job !!!! Hello from France !!!
Thank you for watching!
Recently went on a Euro trip. Did the Netherlands, Germany Austria and Italy. The windows there are on a different level. Very solid, beefy and soundproof. They have uds beaten on that front
Yes, I am aware that the Europeans have far superior windows to us. The Sierra Pacific H3 is a step closer to the European quality.
❤ this beautiful home
Thank you!
OUTSTANDING!!!!! Your homes are magnificent. I might have set it on the property differently to better showcase the house's front.

That's a beautiful home! Do you guys happen to sell floor plans for someone who wants to stick frame this instead of using logs?
If you’re talking about our area of Libby, Montana, yes I do know framers. You can talk to Wildcat Custom Homes, you can Google and find them.
Elvie,
That’s another Beautiful home.
See you the 3rd weekend in May 2025 !
Yes we will see you at the auction!
The Logs not only keep your home cool, but also retain the heat more efficiently than a regular stick built with insulation.
You're right, the logs are very energy efficient!
Elvie,
Another beautiful creation. I'm curious if those logs with the black marks are from being in a forest fire? Thank you for taking time to build, film, edit and post this video.
Yes, black marks could be fire killed trees.
Very nice home! The upstairs sleeping area could be walled off between to create 4 instead of 2 bedrooms? king or queen beds would fit?
Yes, you could definitely make some changes to the floor plan, such as creating more sleeping area there.
@ Do you set up internal walls?
It was a beautiful place. 😢
A spectacular building site, indeed
Nice crib.
What a beautiful location. What wouldn't I give to live in a place like that. Maybe it's the camera angle, but the garage opening appears quite narrow to be a 2-car.
It’s barely a 2 car. Maybe 2 small cars.
It's beautiful. How much does it cost?😊
It depends on the options but in 2025, somewhere in the $1.2 M range.
Thanks for the reply. 🏠😊
i want one just like it
Let’s build you one.
Hard to believe but Years ago ('79 or so ) a nice log home was built in the center of Los Angeles, not sure what it was but they did... That patina is something special. I love how a log home ages.
There are two lakes in the area have been to both

If I ever win the lotto, I'm getting the Montana Lodge cabin floor plan. 🤣
I know its an extra cost but do you provide services and supplies for everything that's in the "What's Not Included In Log Package" list?
For local projects, we can supply more options. For long distance projects, we are pretty much limited to logs, roof and window install.
What's the price
I don’t know, maybe $1.5 M total??
What's a house like this cost roughly?
In 2025 probably about 1 1/2 million dollars
How come you don't show the price of the house what do you want to know
You can find prices on the website linked below the video.
1:40 Is that a gigantic crack in the concrete?
I played it a few times, and I can’t see the crack that you’re talking about. I wonder if it’s maybe sunlight or the way the light shines on the concrete.

I think what you may be seeing is the, Expansion Joint.
Nice! What would something similar cost?

Вопрос только один - вы построили пожароопасный камин, как он у вас не воспламеняется при эксплуатации?

The Sierra Pacific doors and windows are actually quite sturdy if you compare them to some other brands.
Do they want to sell it?
No, but there are building lots for sale that we can build a house on for you.
@AmishMeadowsOfficial I'll keep that in mind...I've been wanting a place on that lake and your company did a fantastic job with the cabin. We'll see how this year unfolds for me and my wife...but will definitely reach out when we are ready. Thank you

There’s contact information on the bottom of each video where you can talk to the Meadowlark staff about job opportunities.
It appears the entire exterior has been manufactured with Beetle Kill Pine.
Some of the logs are beetle kill, but not all. We use green trees from thinning projects to improve forest health.
For sale???
No it’s not for sale. Meadowlark built it for a customer on their lake front property.
Before buying, check with your insurance!!! I own a log home and almost couldn't find an insurance company who would give me coverage. I found one but ut us very expensive. !!!
My insurance is the same price as a frame house because a log home is much harder to burn down. What you’re saying doesn’t hold true in Montana.
7:32 something dont look right
The jackets hanging on the stairway makes things look a little odd. Not sure what’s going on, but I think it’s hidden by the coat.
벽난로자재 가 나무찌꺼기 재질이라서 염려 됩니다 돌로 바꾸시죠 천정이 높으면 더 좋았을텐데요
The interior is metal and that’s the way American fireplaces are built now. It is safe and it is less costly than a solid rock fireplace.

You can use rock all the way through- but at a greater cost. Real rock covering is the more accurate description.
Not sure anybody would want a wood home unless they don't have stone or brick....lol
Many people build log homes. They have a lot of environmental benefits.
Love it, looks the bollox👌
What was the total cost to build pls🤔
I estimate it was probably about 1 1/2 million dollars
