They are MASSIVE too. There is absolutely no mistaking one, even amongst their compatriots. You really can't get a feel for their size until you see people standing next to or leaning on them.
Well considering this car cost more than a house when it was released and was built with no cost restrictions...if a company built a car like this today they wouldn't be in business long.
Economy. There is a price to pay for a car that is as powerful and large as that, but able to get 25+mpg, last for 300k+ miles, and survive a head on impact with a big rig, heh.
Because every car brand is trying to please families with a generic overaggressive looking 7 seat crossover with an efficient crappy 2 liter engine that is purposely designed to break down easily.
Thanks for the preview, eagerly anticipating the full episode! I absolutely love it when Jay showcases cars of the 1930s and earlier. Getting to see them driven, and get a video experience of what they sound like while operating, is a real treat. Most of these vehicles just get photographed in museums or at high end shows... there's something extra special actually seeing them used as cars as they were originally intended. Truly a piece of art, but it'll get you where you need to go, too!
This is a beauty for sure . Just stunning. Not everyone will appreciate a vehicle like this . For its time it was ahead of its time then. Jay Leno is great for his love of all vehicles. He dosent discriminate and the best is he drives all his cars . Don't have to be fast and pretty just knowing that they still do what the intention was for a vehicle . Would love to live around his area to catch a glimpse of a classic like this passing you by.
Hey Jay, she’s a beaut, perfect ride and look for a famous star or a big mobster back in the day. I can only imagine the upper crust interior……..ohhhhh, the leather, and the wood grain. You are a man or great taste and style. Hope you are well.
Hello Jay Leno's Garage team! For the RUclips shorts, please include a link to the long-form video so that when someone clicks on the short, they can easily access the full video. Keep up the great work!
I just love the sound of that supercharger. It's such a treat to experience this Duesenberg through Jays Leno's Garage. A huge thanks to Jay for sharing on his RUclips channel and the guests that bring their cars or one from a collection - I just wish I could be a passenger in one of them. Sigh...
Most super awesome motorcar!! For sure the very best, most powerful, most advanced of it's time and years after that!!! No equivalent from Bugatti, Mercedes, Auto Union, Rolls Royce etc.. Dusi was and is still the most underrated of all time!!! In this color absolute beautiful ❤️ 🌹
This is the reason I love classics, antiques because they are works of art on wheels. The craftsmanship, passion and love that was put into these gorgeous vehicles. Modern day cars don't have this. Even Lincolns, Cadillacs and Chryslers from the 70's had craftsmanships especially in the interiors.
Jay . You're the consumate aficiando of all things automobilia and a heart of steel . You have a habit of picking yourself up dust yourself down and start all over again !
The paint job on this Dusenberg how beautifuly blends in with the chrome over all with the hole car. Its like a light Pewter, Silver Birch, Champagne .
I have built four Duesenberg engines and about three years ago I was out in California doing some finishing work on one and I got to go through your shop with Arnold , amazing place . I have a few engine parts if your looking
Weight is likely close to a one ton diesel 4x4 pickup, of today The Deusenberg Twenty. Weighs right at 7,000lbs 1-ton diesel 4x4 long wheel base pickups weigh about 7,000lbs to 9,600, or more. ( model/options vary)
Every stored my share cars in my life and what hurt me the most is to see him parked in the garage somewhere 30 years later and not driven restore it use it love it drive it and enjoy it
A thing I love about cars like this ,is that because car designs were done with so much emotion, elegance and class that it makes today's cars look boring.
Did they buy this in MI. in the late 80's?I met a man who my buddy thought would accept my help with his.It was so coated in dirt and I didn't notice the 'bowtie' before I said,"Wow,that is a beautiful Rolls.Later my bud said the guy was ticked I didn't know what it was so he didn't think I was smart enough to help.I told him to tell him 'He's setting with a 1/2 mil car rotting in the garage?.Pretty much identical.
1928 it was a magical year for automotive advancement . Cadillac Duesenberg and Henderson Excelsior Motorcycles , were all better than most of what we got in the 1970s and 1980s . There has to be a conspiracy theory in there somewhere .
Dear Mr. Leno, I've been enjoying your RUclips videos for some time now. Always good quality and informative. But really wish you would stop using the triple split screen (or whatever they're called). It takes away from the enjoyment of watching.
Imagine seeing that for the first time back when it was brand new. A different time for sure.
I would freak out if I saw one this afternoon. :-)
@@danmar007 I second that. This car is so incredible beautiful.
They are MASSIVE too. There is absolutely no mistaking one, even amongst their compatriots.

Simply magnificent very beautiful classic
Fun fact: this car is responsible for the phrase “It’s a doozy”
If I had to write a list with my top ten most beautiful cars, then this Duesenberg would be on top of it. Just beautiful.
Damn it why can't cars today be this gorgeous?!
Safety laws from the government

Because to make a car today, it has to be compostable.

From the days of 90 lbs flywheels.
What a Beauty!
90lbs?
@@rogerringold616
Sure. It's where cars got their Torque from back in the day.
My 1953 GMC 3/4 ton truck had a 75 lbs flywheel.
That car is a real Duesy.
TUNIN' IN FOR SURE! I've got to get to the Neathercutt Museum. Probably the best sight in Southern California; Besides Jay's Garage!
Absolutely Beautiful ! An we are driving Progress? Give me one of those !

Tres tres chic just perfect 👌

The ultimate Town Car.
I love the sound of that engine in the beginning, like a wind up
This and the Pierce Arrow are two of my favorite vehicles!
I’ve seen a collection of duesenbergs at the Volvo auto museum and it was crazy to see the many they had, gorgeous cars.
Jay . You're the consumate aficiando of all things automobilia and a heart of steel . You have a habit of picking yourself up dust yourself down and start all over again !
Best looking cars on the planet. Duesenberg
The paint job on this Dusenberg how beautifuly blends in with the chrome over all with the hole car. Its like a light Pewter, Silver Birch, Champagne .

Absolutely Gorgeous !! I hope Sleepy Joe doesn't make us converted to an E V
Jay Leno would drive any vintage car like a new car! 😄

Now that's a dussie!
Wow what a jewel!!
What a beautiful car
I've know about this for a long time. Thanks for sharing the driving 🚗 🙌
This is how to do a vertical short of a native wide source: good photos of the car and a full width/not super cropped video centered.
Amazingly Beautiful

Best car ever. Great video. 😅😊
What a nice car!
That car is just Un-Godly Beautiful.
Mr Jay Burns looks better than the Steaming jay engine and the flaming jay turbine. All old vehicules but one is made for old people.😎👍🏼
Fantastic❤️, Marvellous❤️, Magnificent ❤️
Seriously, the word "beautiful" gets thrown around a lot for cars, but it truly is fitting in this case.
How’s your Mclaren doing? Let’s take it out for a spin! It’s Joe @ Universal. The Dussie looks fantastic! Glad you’re OK!
that mf bro......i remember playing the godfather on ps2...this and the street sweeper was epic
1928 it was a magical year for automotive advancement . Cadillac Duesenberg and Henderson Excelsior Motorcycles , were all better than most of what we got in the 1970s and 1980s . There has to be a conspiracy theory in there somewhere .
GULP! What a beauty
That is the most beautiful Deusemberg I ever see.
It would also be the loudest car on the freeway.
That would outshine any billionaires car today
See here the supercharger kick in but I think it's the starter button he's heading to get that extra umpf
Oh this is what they have in heaven
The best American car ever
But it's so expensive well just drive it on the runway. Beautiful duesenberg
If you were just listening to the audio you would think jay was on a drive with Ted Levine.
Amazing automobile.
Absolutely Beautiful, the world needs to look back before they go forward!
H a Beautiful Car
