Sean I always have to laugh when I listen to your humble assessment of your work "I think I did a pretty good job" your work and skills are of a standard I constantly aspire to, keep 'em coming mate, can wait for the next project. Yes your skils have changed and improved over the years but you are an artist as well as a modeller, hope you feel better soon, all the best from the UK.
Outstanding finish mate, well done …..and for us it was worth the wait to see what you could do (and yes ‘you can polish a turd’)..thanks again for posting your videos with all the trials and tribulations along the way!
I don't know what standard you hold yourself to but its absolutely beautiful. After viewing the photos I know nobody is ever gonna look at that model with a microscope for the purpose of picking out imperfections. You're a great inspiration because you stuck with it. Great solutions to the problems that netted great results. Thoroughly enjoy watching and learning from you. Thank you for sharing.
Great job, Sean! I'm glad you stuck with it. I have this kit in my stash and really wanted to see how yours turned out. Knowing the issues you had to deal with will be super helpful when I build mine. Thanks for making this video series. I really enjoyed it!
Congratulations, Sean. Challenging kits can drain the modelling mojo but overcoming problems boosts the rewards. Managed to achieve the results I was after with a Kinetic 1/24 P-47 Razorback kit and a 1/18 Hobby Boss FW190A5, (sprue part version of the Merit toy plane) taking a year of modifying/correcting Most of the effort spent on outer surface refinements and from that new techniques gained.
Beautiful job. this really helps me. I'm doing a historic 1/48 thunderbird collection. f-84g and f. f-100 ,f-4e , t-38 , f-16a and b. and a f-35 just for fun. All in flight on stands. no weapons or wheels to deal with. The first 3 are bare metal finish. I have the gx2 and the ak duraluminum . building them all up first in age order. Working on the hun now. Waiting to paint all at once when the weather is warm enough to open the window. Then the decal madness! I also learned the hard way not to buy t-bird kits. Get good kits and get aftermarket decals. Except for the tamiya f-84g, strip the chrome off though. and revell f-84 f. Thanks!
@@drew9808 I thought about doing the same. Love the thunderbirds. I use to go watch them as a kid at Scott Airforce Base in Illinois. I built the Tamiya f-16 thunderbird and yes, those decals sucked lol.

Dear Sir, first of all congratulations for the super realization of an Italaeri kit that does not always represent a splendid adventure. Here in Italy the company has only in recent years created noteworthy kits (see the 1/32 scale Tornado models, which represent an absolute top of the range). For the rest the Italian company has always proposed models that are economically accessible but that without taking anything away from the manufacturer in terms of quality are not counted among the absolute best. I imagine you are a professional model maker (unthinkable that a weekend model maker makes hundreds of models) who always arouses curiosity because although characterized by experience, with the humility of a novice person you always approach a creation in a different way, trying with your descriptions to trace a path also for those who in the future want to face the same experience. I like your friendliness, your skill in your passion/work, which already at the beginning sees the model realized. Regarding the refined way of painting a model I consider you extremely good. I remember models you made such as the B 25, the F 105 an extraordinary FW 190... It is not common to hear in the professional modeling sector reporting some errors, even if slight, committed during the work. This does you credit. With esteem and sympathy. Peter Valusso Udine Italy
Models seem to sometimes not come out as we envision, but this F-104 looks amazing. And it's so big, fun to play with lol. I think it's bad azz looking.
Hi, Your build really looks great👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 About the panel lines, it's a shame, I actually didn't realize until you mentioned it. You can't really do anything about it, some nuts would probably putty and re-scribe everything but I know that I wouldn't. I knew that it is a big plane but I didn't realize how big😮. I have this kit in JADSF version and it would probably work better (or Vietnam camo) with the mat paint (for the panel lines) but I really love the polished aluminum USAF look. About the 1/48, perhaps the paint didn't age well, metal paints are fragile and subject to some kind of oxidation, but it still looks good, just a bit dirty like it's coming back from a mission😊. This plane deserves a brand new kit. Thank you for sharing and I can't wait for the next build.👋🏻
You did it! Absolutely fantastic job on this. I have this in my stash, and yeah its not cheap. It was nice to see your thoughts on the it good bad and otherwise. That canopy really isn't that bad either. Yeah a little fogged, but I don't think most canopies are flawless in real life either. Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing what you are doing next.
Looks great. I got a Hasegawa 1:72 F-104 in my stash that I'm really looking forward to building. I'd be happier with a 1:48 (and hope to get one some day) so I can't even imagine a 1:32 like yours.
Came out very nice well done , i dont get the future on the inside part of the canopy still is going to get fog if there is color there...what i am doing i use liquid masking to place the canopy down then i can easily remove it and fix it if it is any problems ...just keep it simple !
I did the kit, lets have a sip, nice phrase 4 a tshit sean, she looks good, another 4 hangin from the ceiling, sean the av8b harrier is goin for £100 r so here and look at the size diff, nice work sir
Panel lines seem to be a thing with Italeri, I am currently building their Short Stirling, the best kit of this bomber available currently and the panel lines are waaaaay too big for the scale. The overall shape, fit and rivet detail is okay for me but those panel lines . . . I also have the Italeri Sunderland MKI/II, same issue, I would rather have the inscribed lines than not but it would be nice if Italeri listened to commentators like yourself and take on board the feedback for better results in future kits. PS: I will be putting a dark wash into my panel lines - fingers crossed!! Your model looks great, well worth your patience and perseverance.
What do you do with all your old kits if you don’t sale them on eBay. I’m running out of room at my house. I could try selling on eBay but no where near the prices yours go for.

I've got this kit in my stash. It's probably going to stay there. There are just too many other kits with fewer headaches in front of it.
Very nice NMF, I was looking at this kit to do a RCAF Starfighter. But the $150 CAD makes it a no go lol
When you looked at it....nice build though 👍
I kinda like the one with the wash
I would say this as it relates to the wide panel lines, you don't have to use panel liner liquids of any kind. Still well done.
