HOW TO MAKE YOUR 3RD GEN TACOMA SEATS MORE COMFORTABLE!!!

  • Hey guys, in this video I install a set of Front Seat Jackers from Desert Does It, and then install a set of rear spacers.
I felt as if just the front spacers helped 20% with the hamstring numbness, but just gave me a load of back pain. I was much happier when I added the .5" of rear lift to accompany the 1.25" of front lift.
The seats are much more comfortable now, and I love driving the truck again. It is a noticeable difference!

I tried these in my 2012 DCSB. I liked them initially but ended up returning because i didnt like how high the seat was and how the back rest and angled. I’m 6’1” and the spacers put my head up to the headliner. Their customer service was top notch and I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest these to anyone (just because they didnt work for me doesnt mean others wont love them).

These Desert Does It spacers are fantastic - pricey but fantastic. I have a 1 1/4
' lift for the front and a 1/4 inch lift on the back - all purchased from Dessert Does It. I would squirm in the seat trying to get comfortable before these spacers were installed and found that after installation - and landing on the right combo - I did not squirm to get comfortable. These are terrific. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I used these on my 4th gen 4Runner and it was night and day better for highway driving and comfort/fatigue, but because the Tacoma’s don’t have tilt adjustment on the seat base, you don’t get much benefit from the front seat jackers only.

I put hockey pucks in the rear. They're exactly 1inch high by 3 inches wide and they fit perfectly. They set exactly right around the rear floor mats also. Cost $2 then get the right length bolts and you're done. Can't even tell they're there. I didn't write doesn the exact bolt measurements but they're 8.8 guage 10mm x 1.50 thread taper I believe. Ehhhh.... I’m still skeptical about these seat jackers. Plus messing with how and where the seat bolts to the truck just seems like a bad idea. How and where the seat attaches to the truck has been crash rated and approved and I don’t think the people selling or making these have done that. I would be curious also about insurance after an accident this seems like something they could use to dismiss any pay out to cover medical since you have modified a safety feature or the truck. Just my opinion on these though.

    • @socalexpeditions

I think it’s completely fine as long as you torque to spec (and use loctite), use grade 10 hardware, and don’t cheap out. That being said, I’m not responsible for anyones troubles if they cause an issue in an accident. I’ve done way more sketchy stuff than rising my seat and torquing it to spec in my life! 😂
