The logo for "Naked City" looks more like a sitcom than a gritty crime drama, with the exact lettering as credits for Screen Gems sitcoms and early Hanna-Barbera credit crawls.
I used to watch "Naked City" as a pre-teen. Not a native New Yorker , but NYC is one of my favorite cities. On "Naked City" I loved the line drawing shown at 1:23 which shows the late Savoy Plaza Hotel on 5th Ave. and 59th Street (building with mansard roof and twin chimneys; it went to the wrecking ball in 1964 only to be replaced by a nondescript box) and the Hotel Sherry Netherland (pointed spire) from the Central Park vantage point. Savoy Plaza was my favorite NY building which, unfortunately, I never laid eyes upon as my first trip to that city was in 1968. I also loved the theme song, "Somewhere in the Night", that had such a sophisticated yet brooding New Yorkish feel to it, especially with that lone trumpet. In 1963 I bought the sheet music of, "Somewhere in the Night", from a music store and immediately went home to practice. Wasn't all that crazy about the new "Naked City" theme.

I used to think the Brylcreme tag was "A little dab of JULIA". My family never let me forget that...

Had an awesome theme song, words of which were recorded by Teri Thornton.
TV did not miss the numerous cigarette ads that dominated the airways until 1971 .
Loved the old Mobil logo.
This is one of the gems of youtube!
