What is the reason behind incompetent cervix? I had a miscarriage of 4.5 months pregnancy 20days back.... which was my 2nd pregnancy. My 1st pregnancy was smooth...
Cervical incompetence can be congenital or acquired. Acquired causes can be cervical lacerations post normal or caesarean deliveries. Prolonged second stage of labour Any surgical procedures like DNC or LEEP Best would be discuss in detail with your gynaecologist Wish you all the best for the future 🙏🙏🙏
@@vimansa5810 if there is history of miscarriage due to cervical incompetence in first pregnancy then in the second pregnancy cervical stitch is put between 12-16 weeks. Which is removed at the time of delivery. If only serial shortening is observed in pregnancy with no history of miscarriage then patient can be offered a choice between Rest+ progesterone support+serial cervical length monitoring and cervical stitch.
@@vimansa5810 If there is only shortening seen in the current pregnancy with no history of miscarriage then patients can be given a choice between Rest+ progesterone support+ serial cervical monitoring and cervical stitch if there is history of miscarriage due to cervical incompetence then cervical stitch is applied between 12-16 weeks in next pregnancy which is then removed at the time of delivery. If a cervical stitch also fails to retain the pregnancy then an abdominal cervical stitch is put before getting pregnant This is to prevent early opening of mouth of womb . If by cured you mean a permanent correction then there is currently no such medicine or surgery. It is managed by the above methods 🙏

The instructions would be tailored to the patient and the history and can vary from patient to patient . Can also depend on whether cerclage is done or whether only rest + progesterone is given
@@imaliVini-123it would depend upon the length of the cervix and the history and the ongoing treatment. Best would be to consult your treating gynaecologist. Best wishes
