- This is now my favorite tool from the Hercules platform! It was able to vacuum this system in under 15 minutes and didn't even lose a bar on the 5 AH battery.
HERCULES 20V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 2-Stage Vacuum Pump - Tool Only 59438
I think it did extremely well. Plus Hurcules comes with a 5 year warranty that you can do same day in any HF in the country. I'm sold.
Pulling a vacuum thru a manifold and long 5ft hoses thats not vacuum rated takes forever no matter what size pump u use. Also that pump is 2 stage deep vacuum also. I love mine it comes in handy
AC service tech has the best practice for pulling vacuum without restrictions. That guy is a genius
Facts!👍🏽
I picked one of these up as well. So far I haven’t been able to try it on a residential unit but did pull a vacuum on my truck after replacing the evaporator. I think it’s gonna come in handy as long as I’m not expecting it to compete with my bigger pump.
Well said!
I just bought one, excited to use it. Thanks for the Video! Install looks nice!
@@joeg3218 Your welcome and thanks!
Pulling through your manifold is going to slow your vacuum process down. I like to connect with vacuum hoses directly to the unit. Also that is a 2CFM pump, I think it did a damn good job. I would like to see a micron gauge directly hooked to the vacuum pump by itself and see if the pump can really achieve the 23 microns it's rated for. Also has a low oil capacity, so for clean new installs, it might work, but if your pulling on dirty line-sets and compressors, to me looks like a no go. Also no gas ballast. I looks like a great tool for automotive though and I am sure that is the intention for this unit. That's might though.
There is a recent review on RUclips that shows this vs the Navac and it does just that. I think they stopped out around 27 microns.
Totally fine for automotive, I would think, particularly through a blue hose.
If you don’t want to spring for cordless pro model, use an Amazon battery power pack with 110v outlet. Pretty cheap on prime day
I have one, its nice to mess around with but its slow compared to my 7cfm pump. Since most units have a service outlet it doesn't really make sense for me to use it. Probably sell it and move to the Milwaukee m18 vacuum if i decide to go cordless.
Do you think it could handle walk in coolers/freezers?
I'm sure if you used 3/8 or 1/2in evacuation hoses instead of pulling through your manifold, it would pull a lot faster than this.
I agree 👍🏽
The real question is, can you get an adapter to use Milwaukee batteries on it? 🤙
I'd hate to be the sucker who helped you buy this! Wait a minute....
😂
Quick question. I was about to pull a trigger on this one but is it A2L rated? I been looking online of any info but cant find one. If you have any info, pls share. Good videos and reviews by the way. Thanks
Good question! The instructions don't specify. However, this isn't a recovery machine so refrigerants should not be going through it if you have purged the system appropriately. Perhaps more to come.
I would think since its brushless, it would be A2L rated.
This thing is quiet as hell when your pumping it out also just did a 2and half ton today almost got perfect vacuum
It is rather quiet. Are you using a manifold or dedicated hoses?
@@thegaragehub manifold 4hose one
11m for a 2cfm pump is great😅
