Where is "I'm gonna learn the intro to ten songs and never the rest"
Very true
i feel this and it hurts deep down.
Or only the solo part xdd
Bruh, this isnt really a phase, but a lifestyle
I have played professionally for ages and I still do this
You skipped a step where you lost your confidence when you see someone else's great solo and you give up playing for a while.
I was gonna say something inspirational but really just Same
I was gonna say that there isnt only 1 phase of this, but there really is only one, one big that starts right on day one and will never end
Ngl so true when I song "easy" and I can not play it I sorta get depressed afterwards
Well shit I just stepped outta that. Then once you start playing again, you regret quitting because you had lost your accuracy and your speed.
It happened me with the violin and now i dont want to play it again ;-; FUCK YOU NAT
Damn I skipped from phase 1 all the way to phase 8
Whats the faster soloing phase song?🤔🤔🤔
HAHA same
You skipped the salad for the prime rib my doode
You must be a genius
Phase nine is PRO BASSIST!
I went through
1 punk by ear
2 funk/metal lines
3 learning actual theory
4 instrumental jazz fusion
5 indie experimental rock
6 crustgrindoomsludgecore
All on bass, of course
in other words,
1 three notes
2 the blues scale
3 the blues scale with chromatic ghost notes
4 Herbie Hancock watermelon man
5 the muddiest tone possible
6 I play one note a minute and my bandmates do exactly the same
> Learns theory
> Ends up playing "crustgrindoomsludgecore"
@@callmeishmael5742 seems like theory has been plan D all along.

2. Learn some jazz Lofi music
3. Playing Ichika nito and hard tabs I shouldn’t start so fast on
Accurate
Imagine being able to play smoke on the water

2. Country Phase
3. Folk Phase
4. Rhythm Phase
5. Lead Phase
6. Theory Phase
7. Classical Phase
8. Playing Wonderwall For Girls Phase
Lmao, almost exactly as my phases

3. Solo Phase
4. Theory Phase.
5. Chords Phase.
6. Classical Phase.
7. Folk Phase.
8. Electric guitar phase
Phase 9 is spanish guitar
In both cases I’m in phase 3
just forgot the "bar chord is impossible" phase
I went from 8 to “only playing green day”
Jajaja i just play Green Day 😅
Well, it's my favorite band and you know, when you like a lot a band, you want to play the songs of them. Anyway, i play other things like Blues and Funk jaja
Loove Green Dayyy
Same
The easy of course **screaming intensifies**
I’m still a beginner. but I will say staring by learning green day. was really nice there songs are easy. and they make u feel like you actually know how to play guitar 😂
I've been stuck on "strums the chords well enough for me to be able to sing" phase for years
Singling and playing is so hard
@@kianr2200 it really is, I'm starting a band with a couple of my friends and they can't sing, and we don't know anyone who can, so I'm singing and playing guitar. It is not an easy task at all, especially when the guitar doesn't follow the vocals that much.
This is just too boring
Mine was:
Age 2: Touches my first guitar with my dad whilst he's playing
Age 9: Dad convinces me to play guitar and I get my first half-scale Ashton that cost all of $100
Age 10: Dad decides I can have a real guitar since I've progressed from Smoke on the Water and can now play the first position on a minor pentatonic scale
Age 12: Drop guitar because dad was pressuring me to practise too much
Age 13: Wait I can play game music
Age 14: Get into Nirvana and Soundgarden, pick up my guitar and begin practising for 2-3 hours a day
Age 14: god my fingers hurt
Age 14: Dad gives me an $800 Jackson I love it it's my favourite guitar it's so fun to play no joke
Age 14: I'm so close to being better than dad and he's been playing for 40 years
Age 15: Wait I'm in a band and I'm performing this is sick
and now here i am thanks for listening lol
Ah, Sadie Adler
Shit wish I had an 800$ Jackson at 15. All I had was a ibanez gio
@@donovenvarner yeah I’m lucky dad likes good guitars :)
I’m about to get a Gretsch now with my own money which will be the first guitar that’s fully mine... working sure is paying off.
you sound cool as fuck

Is there a “slow sad song” phase or am I just depressed
You are sad, that's it
come aboard my boi let us commune in band names and cry

Evolution of a pianist:
1. Meme phase
2. Heart and soul phase
3.Fur Elise phase
4. Playing other songs than fur Elise and heart and soul
5. Playing songs using only chords
6. Theory phase
7. Jazz phase

Mine went:
1. Fur Elise
2. Crab Rave
3. Crazy Train
4. Ascend (by TheDooo)
5. Giorno's Theme
I play guitar. I only know two songs on piano: Megalovania and duel of the fates. I have no intention of evolving
I think you haven't evolved then yet
The only playing songs with the chord phase is so true, like you get into jazz and somehow only start playing chords and then you start to feel like you are shit at piano cuz you can only play chords and then you just quit
mine went like
1. noob phase
2. wtf am i doing
3. jazz phase.
I am at 2

Easy simple noob songs
Getting a little better (starting to learn fingerpicking)
Giving up for 6 months
Starting again and learning a lot in just a week
Edit: 7 Months later.
I've learned a lot... like a lot lot... and I'm probably gonna be joining a band soon.. And I'm playing guitar everyday now

age 11 - i have heard my dad play guitar for a long time and i finally pick it up
age 12 - i learn a few notes and play despacito
age 13 - learns the first song with a few chords off youtube and gets introduced to youtube guitarists
age 14 - gets my first actual guitar, a Fender Strat Custom and gets a teacher and learns how to solo
age 15 - learns a ton of solos, jazz kinda, and metal, sees other great kid guitarists better than me and almost stops playing everyday but ends up playing the next morning and becomes better than his dad
still going on and i hope ill become a guitarist like Steve Vai one day
never give up keep on going and remember, "Practice makes Perfect"
My bass phase
- The basics
- AC DC
- learning about Metallica
- seeing Cliff Burton play

- *metal*
- *metal*
- *metal*
Once you hit the god-level stage you grow long hair, start sounding Canadian and make some silly song about the "Spirit of The Transmissions" or "Ghost of The Radio" or some shit
Man if i somehow turned out to be a bassist and saw Cliff Burton
I'm already in extasy watching his recordings, this would be too much for me, mans a legend
Who can forget about flea?
No lemmy?
Yessss
Why is this actually how I evolved? Like I’m not even being ironic.
pretty much same here, but i had the meme phase before the jazz phase. Started learning meme songs after 4 years of playing (2016)and just started with jazz like 1,5 years ago.

..... he just explained every phase I went through as a guitar player IN PERFECT ORDER
Only phase I go through was funky groove, and that's because I really admired Tomo Fujita Growing up! He also guitar teacher when I lived Kyoto, Japan.
I honestly think I could play the "faster soloing" thing, but I don't think I could play the easy solo.
I'm the opposite.. starting in theory an jazz now, I just seem to have completely skipped the fast soloing thing. Slower stuff I can do lol
Same I've got no feel at all. If I want to solo slow I have to limit myself to maybe 4 notes. I just can't seem to get a nice melody going.
@@willspeakman2461 same
@@willspeakman2461 It really takes a lot for me as well, but constantly doing it (preferable over minor scales) has increased my ability in this a lot. But it took me like 3 years of improvising until I've reached the point where I could say that I actually like what I play. Just don't give up.
Easy soloing honestly sounds better to my ears
I love the fact that the "super jazz book" has two pages

- Black Metal noob phase
- Death Metal kinda noob phase
- Deathcore phase
- Djent/progressive phase

To learning most Queen songs fully
To learning most Metallica songs fully
To learning random shit when I feel like it.
What did I get from this? I learned good rhythm to lead parts from Sir Dr Brian May. Very good guitarist to study and learn. From James Hetfield, I learned speed, accuracy, down picking, and really fast playing. From Kirk Hammett, I learned Pentatonics and WAH.
