  • Lisa Gade reviews the Latitude 7390, Dell’s compact 13.3” business convertible with a 12” footprint, 360 degree hinges and a full HD IPS display supporting touch and the Dell Active Pen (Wacom AES). It has a clean look and durable build with a soft touch matte black finish, very good backlit keyboard, MS Precision trackpad, USB-C with optional Thunderbolt 3, optional LTE 4G and Intel 8th generation Kaby Lake R Core i5 and i7 quad core U series CPUs. It’s available with 8-16GB RAM and has an M.2 SSD.

      It is the video.
      I do notice that I can't use the 130W charger from a Precision 3551 to charge it. Was hoping to carry one charger around but no. If I use the 65W from this, the Precision 3551 would take forever to charge.

    Im looking for a laptop with a 13.3 or 14inch glossy screen,(Not matte!), thin and light / ultrabook form factor, and a MX150. Can anyone suggest something?

      This is a list of all of the MX150 laptops, from there it's kinda your decision. How come you want a glossy screen?
      One thing I must note, recent news suggests that 13" laptops tend to have these lower wattage MX150, so performance might not be as good as you hope, just do the research
      Hope that helps! Feel free to ask any questions

      Lenovo ideapad 720s 14". I've had it for 5 months and it works perfectly. My model: intel i7 8th gen, 8gb RAM, 256gb ssd costed me 1000€ (it costed 1200 but i bought it on Black Friday through the official Lenovo.com store, they tend to do lots of offers)

    I honestly have no idea how you don't just start jumbling all of those model numbers/letters completely while doing these videos, there are just so many different combos it's dizzying! Great review as always, Lisa, more with the capability to use the Wacom EMR pens would also be nice, thanks!

    Hi Lisa! I'm a big fan of your reviews. Thank you for all the work you put into these videos. I'd love to see a 'smackdown' between this and a MacBook pro for work related uses if you think this is the right model to compare. I guess it would depend on the industry for touchscreen etc...but I was a little surprised at the price and multi-core geekbench score of this Latitude. Do you think soldering on the RAM is just to prevent end users from future proofing laptops at this point?

    The fan is fairly loud while plugged in on ultra performance mode, but in power save mode on battery, the fan generally doesn't come on. Dell power manager tool can enable the user to set the fan to "quiet" mode manually if needed for like a meeting/etc.

    Your paying for the small features, they add up. Magnesium build, finger print scanner along with ir camera. Up to 19 hours of battery life. Windows pro. Touch screen with digitizer. Wan compatibility. Etc etc. XPS series has less battery life is smaller by a hair but the latitude has better camera placement along with some features XPS doesn’t carry. You can get the same features on the XPS but it tends to come at a premium so yeah .

    • @HarmsGadgets
      @HarmsGadgets 5 лет назад

      Very similar machines - The Thinkpad is a bit thinner but larger overall - The Dell has a more compact form factor but is THICK - They both support the same customizations and are similarly laid out. The only differences are each brand's industrial design which makes for the X380Y to be a big edgier which broadens its overall size - Its hardly noticeable. It really comes down to brand and keyboard/pointing device preference.

    I'd much rather have a full-size SD card slot than a Smart Card slot.

      You pay for build quality here. Latitude model is really well build and i think this model have magnesium cover. There is huge difference if you compare it to cheaper models with TN screens and fan spinning constantly even at idle.

      It's a super strong magnesium chassis with a grippy rubbery cover so you can hang onto it. What's not to like?
