FrStProductions well i mean he is best freinds with a guitarist and was in a band with one but its just my perspective so we have our way to explain it. I also know where you're getting at
I'm intermediate at best and there's no way I could teach someone from the beginning. I forgot how bad it was at the beginning. Makes me appreciate how far I've come though.
I love that Austin utters “Ok”, “wait”, and “fuck” over and over trying to learn just like everyone else who has been there. So funny to see how everyone basically reacts the same way in the beginning
It's so goddamn relatable.🤣 My first attempts to learn were, no joke, half plucking notes and half swearing at the guitar and my fingers in equal measure.
Pick the note right under the neck pickup on the bridge setting, holding your thumb about 1-2 mm away from the tip of the pick with the pick almost vertical. Careful not to mute the string, you should think of touching the string softly at the same time as playing. Took me a while to learn, glhf ^^
He's the best teacher ever! Laughs at every wrong note 😂😂😂 honestly better than sitting in silence and seeing the awkward faces being pulled by your teacher.
Just imagine some poor dude at Guitar Center has to teach a bunch of 10 year olds how to play Smoke on the Water for $10 an hour for an occupation I am so sorry dude
Because 10$ and hour is shit money and it's an extremely frustrating job trying to teach new players sometimes because it's not hard to play smoke in the water. And trying to get them to see it is frustrating because they won't slow down.
@@thomasmarchese2808 true. I worked at a music store during uni. Love music and instruments but it was the worst job I've ever had, and i have a third degree burn from a chemical plant lmfao

:P so true when i started it was such a awful acoustic guitar with such high action you couldn't really press the strings at all but practice makes perfect but a good guitar isn't a bad idea either
Jared, are you interested in being my new music teacher? because I have that electric guitar in my cellar since 2011 and I still don´t know how to play it ;^;
I feel the same thing as you said man. I thought my fingers will shred but slowly I am improving it. I took me 6 months to learn the acoustic parts of destiny by death. It's hard to play it but it's easy to try it
I love how whenever you teach someone to play guitar, you'll give them something to practice, then as they're trying and failing to play it, you'll say here watch this or try to give them a tip, and they're always so laser focused on what they're doing that they just keep playing over you like fuck off I got this boy 😂😂😂 Austin you did great!! And Jared you're a great teacher haha keeping it motivational

I wish i was as enthusiastic as Jared, when people asked me to teach them a few things. But i'm way to imaptient for this kind of stuff. Keep it up boiiiiis
Good for Austin! I'm a drummer, and have tried learning guitar. I literally cannot remember where the frets are. It just feels like there's so many things to press and remember. Drums have always been more natural for me
I play guitar and bass, I’d love to learn drums. My only excuse is that I don’t own a set and I’m broke as hell. Guitar isn’t that hard but I get what you’re saying about sitting still. You definitely need the patience I can probably do it as I can literally sit and play video games or watch tv for literally 10 hours so....
Props to Austin for picking it up and for getting it pretty quick all things considered. And props to Jared for being super patient and chill with him. He really is a good teacher. Once you get past the finger bleeding stage it is relatively smooth sailing. Just don't skip out on technique!
Austin is playing a $4000 guitar. $4000. What if he drops it!?! He’s not even holding it right. Love you man, but you have pretty much never played guitar before and your playing a majesty!!! He definitely doesn’t realize he’s playing a work of art.
true bestfriend right here. for Jared to have the patience with this 😂i would have smacked my best friend half way through her trying to play smoke on the water
This was cute. Should totally be a weekly/bi-weekly reoccurring thing so we can see growth in Austin. I will say, I’m performing a Rings of Saturn song on Tuesday, but today was the first day I’ve ever played Walked This Way (I totally passed that up in my early stages). Please do more!

Not like every friend of us guitarists is an actual musician themselves.
It's refreshing to see someone who is such a good guitarist not being patronizing or getting frustrated while teaching. Good job guys :)

In a decade or so forth.
This reminds me of the scene in "Some Kind Of Monster" when Kirk can't learn the riff.

João Ferreira Djenting with Djared. Dickey already has dining
