So Marni is one of those tragic, praise obsessed villains who goes as far as to spand her final breath praising the very person she served for so long, only to end up murdered in cold blood. The scenes leading up to this felt like a big moment in the game, so I put this together.

She deserved better, girlie was just looking for approval because of her abandonment issues. She was played by both Zephia and Sombron.
I hate when I'm given the chance to help characters that I don't care about but the one character I would like to help and I care is the one I'm not given the chance to help.
I called that Marni and Mauvier would be the recruitable members of the Hounds, I mean their character designs just scream future allies, but not even I saw that coming. Griss could've been if he wasn't a complete psychopath and Zephia is too in love with Sombron to see reason, even though she had no chance with him whatsoever (hell I'm sure his children were conceived by disposable concubines that he discarded/killed off almost as soon as they were born).
@@deathbykonami5487 except overtime zephia got brain damage and stopped remembering all of her children’s names because sombron would destroy them anyway so now she has a corrupted definition of what family means to her

Zephia calls the Four Hounds her family? I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
With the way Zephia acts throughout the game, she doesn’t deserve to use that word.
She is more like Mother Grotel from Tangled.

I’ve watched both M! Alear and F! Alear’s version of this between two playthroughs, and F! Alear is much less emotional, while M! Alear is audibly about to break down in tears.

When she first appeared she was a brat at first, now she found her redemption at the end.
I know it's unlikely. But I would like an alternate route in a DLC that allows her to become playable. (It doesn't need to be part of the 4º DLC, it can be just like with the Death Knight in 3H)
I think it would be kind of cool if in that route Mauvier dies instead and that's what makes her join you. I think the death is relevant so I think it's fair that no matter what you do, one of them dies. On the other hand I think Mauvier and Marni should get some kind of friendly support. I like their relationship.
They could pull an awakening walhart where she comes back in dlc paralogue that's like
"How are you still alive!?" Followed with a "no clue" and then we get to recruit them
@@MetronaJ As bad as that sounds, Marni deserves it.
But I don't think they are willing to do something like that again. Her best hope is to get some kind of death knight treatment IMO.
Because I don't think she will be part of the 4 characters DLC with the new classes.

@@maikayee246 Yeah. I too think that both of them should have a friendly support because their relationship looks wholesome.
I just think that one of them being dead and the other surviving gives them a different and interesting character development chance.
She was datamined as a playable unit so maybe she will come back somehow
After seeing Madeline support, this hits different.
Marni story was so tragic. In the end, she paid the price in a painful, depressing death.

Zephia can really administer both nonlethal hellfire and lethal knife-pokes. That's a better demonstration of her power than the dragon death beam!

Marni is truly one of the most tragic characters ever. So inconsistent, only humanized in the last 15 minutes, and her death scene was so poorly choreographed that it made everyone look like an idiot. Truly sad :(
Everyone just standing there like morons. I expected Mauvier to rush in to try to save her. But thinking Griss could have blocked him too

i really liked her, she was the most interesting of the 4 hounds & her lines were way less cheesy than the others. id rather recruit her than the other guy

I like Marni quite a bit, but my goodness, that death scene. Why the hell did Alear and Mauvier just stand there?? They don't have to win the fight and save her or anything, but they couldn't swing a sword at Zephia or like...do anything besides stay perfectly still and then act surprised when it was clear to anyone with a functioning brain that Zephia clearly intended to kill her? It's just....really stupid. And lazy.
Forgetting that Zephia was tormenting Veyle with that damn helmet at the moment, and Alear's focus was on saving their little sister. Also, Marni's sacrifice is what made it possible for Alear to save her because she actually damages the helmet, giving Veyle the opportunity to fight against Sombron's mental programming
I wouldn't say it was obvious; Zephia had multiple other options, and had resorted to knocking Marn and Mauve out with a nuke for a more-impactful betrayal beforehand.
This lady really killed with blunt force from the tip of her knife, though. XD
I was honestly expecting mauvier to charge at zephia a la Republic commando in the SWTOR cutscene and just try to bash her
I do agree. Should have had the two at least try to save her. Maybe they were in shock?
It's just bad animation work + bad script writing, the writers clearly still live in the Awakening days when such thing is less of an issue due to us players having to imagine what's actually going on in the scene.
If we used the Dragonballs, we could revive Marni
I like how everyone just stood by and watched her get stabbed and killed. There was nothing they could do.
The writing in this game is atrociously comedic.

The writing is corny as hell but isn't too bad in this point of the story, it's the set pieces that are hilariously awful, but what can you do, just pretend this is a parody play or something; you enjoy the game more that way.
