I dabbled in quite a bit of Brawl hacking back in the day but didn't want to bother with it again since it was such a time sink back then. It looks like the hacking scene has come a long way in the years since. I really enjoyed Brawl+ and Project M back then, so this should be exactly what the doctor ordered to revitalize Smash 4.
My favorite aspect of hacked Brawl was lifting the restrictions on the stage creator so items could overlap and so that significantly more items could be placed on the stages. I am curious if you know whether or not such a mod has been made available for Smash 4? Either making it so more things could be place, or preferably, importing some of the custom stage elements from Brawl such as falling blocks.

Wayvern12 fantastic video, just a quick question. If I were to remove the SD card, would homebrew be gone as well as melee hd, and would I be able to play normal Smash without homebrew? Or would I NEED to keep SD card in at all times? (Sorry for bad wording I can't really figure out what I'm trying to ask lol) keep up the good vids

Hey I followed all your instructions plugged my sd card into the wii u but anytime I go to the website and press "EXPLOIT" my console says the page was too large to load then soon crashes. I know you said that's normal but repeatedly I've tried resetting my console repeating the steps but the program always crashes. Got any tips? I have a 32GB HDSC card btw if that matters. Thanks man.

try loadiine.ohv instead, i tried u.drg.li a million timesx and it didnt work. I used loadiine and it worked 2/3 times

Make sure you put a folder before content. it will save you a headache if you are still having trouble. Name this folder 4xM

question: does this work only for digital copies or does it work if you have the game on a disc as well? if it can run on a disc copy, then does having the packed/unpacked version of this have any difference in whether or not this works?
There should be no difference on game copy! Disc works just as well as Digital! If you're talking about packed/unpacked version of the mod, you want to have the packed version, otherwise you'll simply need to use a sm4sh mod loader to repack it yourself.

I'd follow the tutoral did all what u said, but the mods didnt load. Am I doing something wrong? Also im sing a different mod pack called aaronitmar mods.

For both of you, I'd recommend joining their Discord server, and looking through the help chat. For me, the issue was that I misspelled "cafiine" as "caffine", and fixing that solved my issue.
I solved the problem! I downloaded the mod from the discord server and that instead of the one I had downloaded somewhere else.
Idk why this worked for me.

Instead of the SDcafine and Homebrew rar files, I keep getting folders that say Wiiu and 4xm-bv.1.4. Am I doing something wrong?

Followed all the steps, launched Homebrew through u.drg.li, it loads vanilla Sm4sh. Trying one of the alternate links in the Discord.

Either just retry over and over again, or maybe your in a different region like europe. Just click the Europe website on the main page, and then you will get there. This is all I know.

Yes! If you download the unpacked versions, you're free to do whatever you want! Ask around in the 4xM discord for help!

I've gotten everything in my sd card but it keeps crashing no mater which site I use. It loaded one of them ONCE but when entering smash it loaded slower, yet it played the regular version. I don't understand

Yes! it should work perfectly. I use a 32 GB microsd with an adapter.

There is an unpacked version of the mod available, if you'd like to add in your own mods! I don't know much about it, however, so you'll need to head into the discord for help with that.

Check the write-lock switch on the side of your SD card! Just change where it is, and It should work! or at least it fixed mine. Otherwise, feel free to ask for help in the 4xM discord!

I've been trying, it does load the sdcafiine and starts the game. The title screen doesn't change and it freezes at the character select screen. I don't know if the system language affects mods, so I'm changing it now to english. Hopefully it works.

Carboncat you probably made the same mistake I did once and downloaded the source code. Make sure to download the right files for homebrew! If it still doesn't work, please feel free to go on the 4xM discord for help!
has anyone done all this and uploaded it somewhere so you can just download and copy it on to your sd card without all the unpacking and renaming and creating folders? like a package for EU and US?
the potential problem with making a pre-packed instal is that it's inconsistent, and could continue to just crash and heck it up.
