No problem! :D ❤️
@Shikkesora ur yapping bro ..
I can tell you, I was single tapping for a decade and learning to alt opened a door to enjoy so many more skillsets and the game itself so much more too :D
seeing the list of the mappers felt really nostalgic man...
PS: plz enjoy game
Enjoy!!
When was a beginner i watched a verto video about alternating and singletapping and i was like "Dude why would i learn to use 2 finger? That seems so much harder!". Then i hit 3 stars and the triples started coming and i IMMEDIATELY started to learn to alternate LOL
also, banger video! its a really cool coaching video, not too overwhelming and you said things that actually helps, thanks!
Thanks for the kind words :D
Very great video ! I'll try to apply some of these advices :)
Thanks for the video man ! im just taking a break for 1 week and my aim skill is improved !!
Thank you bro, i got the coaching but i stayed for shikke because he the real goat and one of the nicest people i met
Don’t skip the first step is probably the probably one of the best advice to new players. 3 years ago when I was 6 digit I just kept playing 5.5 - 6 stars expecting something but I felt more stressed over it because I was trying to FC that star range which wasn’t even at my level yet lol. I decided to go back some steps and progress slowly. After the training progress during that time I go got out of 6 digit. Rn I am rank 13k and when I was hardstuck 6 digit being stupid I was rank 120k.
Some other improvement tips I think are good are:
1. Play songs that you enjoy because it could motivate you to improve.
2. Play songs that are longer than TV size. It improves tapping stamina and allows you to play longer.
Tysm man these are a very helpful tips for me even though I play osu!mania mainly I can understand it and it will help me a ton in improving later. Keep it up bro 👍
Thank you for the words! No problem!

This is absolutely the best improvement video I've seen! It has so many very useful tips! For me this video was more useful than all other videos I've seen so far put together (including the hour-long video in the description). I saw a lot of them and was doing it just for fun and I am definitely sure of what I said. Thank you so much for making this wonderful video!! ❤❤❤
♥🌸Awww!! Thank you so much for the sweet comment! I did work very hard on this video, so I am really happy to hear your words. You are the fuel that maintains me motivated to keep on uploading more useful content in the future!
I have a few videos coming, one in a few hours/tomorrow (depending how long i take to edit), so please watch out for it!
If you have any questions or want to share any progress/anything, feel free to add me in Discord! I am "Shikkesora", thanks for watching and for your support!! 🌸♥
@@ShikkesoraAahhh, thank you so much too! I have never gotten such a lovely reply :)
Also can you answer me what if I do some kind of retry spam (I really like to shitmiss after a few seconds of the map haha) but it doesn't corrupt my mindset at all? Can I do it just a bit? Or I shouldn't do that at all?
And sorry for just a minor thanks of a comment. This video and the amount of your effort definately deserve much more
@@user-nr5ix2pw4j I'll let you retry spam :) dw
Some of these tips in your video can also be used for the other games or even thing like doing Gym like you said, I think this video is homely and it may help me and other people like alot. Thank you.
I just picked Osu back up last week after taking about 6 years off, and I’m honestly kind of amazed at how much I retained over that time. It only took two or three days for me to start setting pp records. But something I did during those one map grinds was that I would retry spam a little, but if I was resetting in the beginning a lot, I would occasionally (every 5 ish attempts) play through the whole map no matter what, basically so I didn’t forget how to play the end. It was a good mental reset and refresher, and a lot of my good scores come in the attempt one or two after a mental reset run.
That being said, I am still absolute gutter trash at the game and am only top 500k because of a SUPER lucky run on a finger control map that got me 148 pp (30 more than my next best play), so this video was very enlightening and I’ll be putting these tips into practice next time I play. Especially the No Fail one. I had no idea NF doesn’t affect pp. This will make learning the end of one particular map I’m thinking of much easier (2 ish easy minutes followed by 30 seconds where I’m barely holding it together and another 30 seconds or minute that is even harder). Great video!
Good luck on your new journey :3
Thanks for showing me how to improve as a player. With my new skills, hopefully I can finally impress me mum. Truly an osu moment.
no worries :D
Such a good guide :)
banger and ty for the tips ''the beginner was for me ngl''
i agree that learning alternate is really good cuz i personally am a full alt and a lot of plays i do today i dont think i would be able to do as easily as it is with alternate. not saying that i couldnt do at all, but just that (i think) it would be harder
actually in my opinion alternate is really freaking op when you master it! ive tried to learn singletap and it was actually fun to play with but i dont see me switching to singletap only at all (its cool to use both sometimes tho)
I am someone who skipped way ahead of my skill level and now I can't read low AR maps. I will be taking your advice and going back to 3-stars
number 12 is such a good tip. when i was newer to the game i would always just play maps that were way too hard for me to try to "improve." i got burnt out so fast and took a years break.
i came back and could barely play 3 stars, but grinded my skill ceiling and consistency to the point where i was fcing 5 stars with pretty good acc in 2 weeks. its such good motivation to see urself get better at farming, streaming, alting, etc. by pushing ur skillcap for a couple sessions and then going back to what was previously comfortable to see it being really easy now.
6 months later im currently fcing 6.2-6.6* consistency maps really frequently now. im grinding for my first 400 and ive gotten really close so im hoping a couple weeks of grinding now and ill be able to set some cool 400s and hit 4 digit soon :D
Amazing to hear that! :D
@@Shikkesora really good video overall btw! :D

Bro this is one of the best improvement videos I’ve ever watch and I hope you keep up the good work man I just recently got into osu! So this helped me a lot. I hit 6 digit in like 5 hours of play time because of this video I really appreciate it. ❤

Great vid!
alt tapping is goated actually
ive been sweating my balls of day by day and started to see that i really improved and thats the best feeling
So nice to hear!! I also improved a ton back in the day when I started learning it :)
Your poin on the single tap is so true, especially if you started to use dt to playing the game. This is from my own experiences lol XD
Me too :D
I needed this
lol that tip 1 hit me personally, I am a mouse player who got a tablet from a generous friend. I tried tablet and in a span of a week I got to somewhere in the level of my mouse skill and I was disgusted by it, So I dropped it and played mouse anyway. It's kinda a flex I know but eh I couldn't care less, I took pain than going at it easy.
true!!! very necessary to discard possibilities, happy to hear your experience :D
@@Shikkesora lmao yeah, Mine was on the self sabotage side but I am glad I did after all I like the pain playing on mouse and so far I have felt happier about it and probably better off for my skill overall as I put all my energy on doing better on it and besides I came in with inspirations from cool mouse players so how could I not xD
Funny because I began to learn how to alt and single tap on my own and it's pretty fun!
SO AMAZING VIDEO111!!!!1 ❤❤❤
thanks!
While watching this video I realised one pretty funny thing: I played 1.4 years without any tutorials and now I'm watching a video for the newers, even though I have already passed 7* and FCed 6* and more often think about passing 8*. But to be honest, I don't really like tablet. When I play with it, I really miss mouse right button which is my main one (keyboard is more like support for stream bursts and alternating patterns). Actually I play osu using 3 keys and maybe that fact that I didn't watch any tutorials made me to create myown style which suits me the best.
But it's kinda funny that I'm watching it right now :)
Okay!
I'm a new player and i have thank you friend!
Bro, with number 3 the only reason I started and stuck with full alt because of my OCD
i downloaded osu again after like 3 years and my accuracy was awful for 4* maps, but instead of playing lower stars maps i just played 4* maps a lot and focussing on accuracy, now i can do 90-96 acc on many 4* maps but not every map :d
omw to download the 100gb folder thanks for telling me where to find it. thanks!
Tysm :D
I was trying osu! cuz Projekt sekai got kinda boring
But I had no clue how this works before the video
Thanks for the tutorial
2 months old player here, thanks for all the tips. Im glad that i was always an alternative player since the start, like i cant even do single tap especially jump, if i accident do single tap on jump, i would immediately fail. It feel so much easier to do alternative. Now my problem is i can do most 5-5.5* stars with more than 90% accuracy, but sometimes there are some map that only 4* or sth i got in multi play with stranger that have the pattern way too hard for me. I did some research and know its kinda like tech map or sth. So should i look for more tech map and learn those map or stick with the old normal one?
It's good to start familiarizing yourself with those lower star rating maps, that are way harder than what they suggest!
I wouldn't recommend spending super amounts of time with them. Even though they're low star rating they require good processing speed, aim speed, tapping speed, etc, which you will acquire by playing normal long maps with simpler skillsets like jumps and bursts. Still, the tips from this video are super helpful, like playing those maps you mentioned or playing also like old maps. But prioritize on developing raw skill and consistency for now!
gracias por los tips espero mejorar pronto en osu
d nada veve
In January I got like 15 accuracy in the big black lol so I stopped because I knew it was really useless to train like that. Now in september I get around 60 accuracy, but still, i feel like it's a waste of time, but it's fun to try
Good job!
nice video tho
my osu limit=i can only effectively use one finger at time due lack of blood in my hands(confirmed when doctors tried to take blood from it but didint got any) what means that blood cant transfer enough power and even with one finger,i run out of energy fairly fast and i react too slowly too causing me to be to slow to move and react
Wow thats the first time I hear that, really sucks :(
I think you can still work around something very weird like for example theres a guy that taps with his feet
Or theres people that use TAP+X
7:56 i feel called out i have 3 ss total and 94.7% acc
🤣
i always played osu on 30 fps bad pc and now switched to a good pc im curently playing 6 stars but as you said i skiped the early stages and my acuracy is so bad i 70% every song bc i was so foucused in speed, and not giving excuses but mouse drift makes it worse, here in brazil a tablet is too expensive but i will try to biy one some day
14:58 honestly in my 500 hours of osu! playing i made this mistake a lot and im still doing it sometimes. Like A lot of my hours spent by either playing too easy maps or too hard maps its just funny lol
True! me too, but remember it's okay to play very easy maps and it's okay to play very hard maps, as long as you also keep yourself balanced, too much water = die, no water = die 😉
do you have a recommendation for keyboard playstyle like how i hit the notes because right now im using base zx alternate but not sure if that is right
its good! I recommend trying more keys or playing for example with different fingers (like Z and C, using your ring and your index finger)
i cant for the life of me alter , I've tried so much but I just end up getting confused trying to focus on whats happening in the game and my keys that I just lose the map, and also my biggest problem is those circles that are on top of each other I always end up missing 1 or 2 cause I get so confused and I've practiced altering on those but that's the main reason I miss them, my comfort maps are 3.2-5 stars too.
dm me to "shikkesora" discord ID, i will help u :D
I skipped the low star maps lol I just played 4* HT… 1 SS to date
I don't know if you still check the comments but this video has helped me a lot as a beginner 🙏
Of course! :D

ah I am a laptop and tablet user
just spamming X and moving my finger across the touchpad
or banging my tablet with my stylus
TouchPad is super bad for osu x_x
The tablet tip (as in advice not the pen tip) is so sad to me because im a Jump main and tablet is literally the absolute best thing for jumps and yet i cannot use a tablet because it hurts my hands EXTREMELY BAD, i tried switching grips and all but nothing worked so i just ditched it and am still on mouse
Also the fact you learned to alternate AFTER setting 300pp plays is insane to me, as soon as i hit 3 stars i started to alternate because i simply COULD NOT singletap a triple for the life of me
I think he meant full alternating, I don't think you're supposed to singletap triples
I have the same problem.. it starts to ache after a while, my grip was Probably the issue but i found that i was also performing better on mouse so yeah, mouse it is 😭
Shikke my brotha
Soup my brotha
so if im able to barely do 5 stars i should still focus on 1 or 2 stars and still do some 5 stars? also if i feel like i am going too fast in some songs like hitting early alot should i practice more lower dificulty? also if i want to start playing hidden and practice hidden should i replace me practicing my 1 - 2 star maps with me practicing them with hidden on? im not sure because i feel like if i do that then i might get worse at both
If you're at that point I wouldn't practice 1 or 2 star maps, I'd say if you're gonna go low at least go like 2.5-3.5 stars, and yes HD is good in beginning
alright thank you for the help!
I love how this dude related osu to other stuff lmfaoo
What
@@Shikkesora What
one of the scenes he covers the letter P in pass LMAO
im a beginner at the game and i specifically started playing to improve my mouse control and click control... so to see that tip 1 immediately tells you to get a completely different input method not relevant outside of art and osu is honestly pretty demotivating
I understand what you mean, but I didn't say "switch to tablet because there's no other way you can get better at the game"
I'm rather saying "almost everyone that is freaking good at this videogame, uses a tablet. so you should try a tablet to see how it goes, if it ends up good or not, at least you tried."
If you want to play with your playstyle regardless then this tip is not for you. No one is forcing you to play with tablet.
Very helpful!
I do 3/4 stars but i try a 5.6 star and i almost fc it but i die at end
uhh... Is 6 star map player stay beginners? And how can i beat 7 star map because the spaced streams are too fast, i have no idea how can i aim them.
How do i know when to increase diff and how many maps i plat in same skill range
I don't know what your skill level is but given the question I would say this: Group by "no grouping" and sort by "By title", and play random maps, if it's too hard or easy doesn't matter play as many things and as much variety as you can (of course follow this advice with the context of the improvement video in mind too)
Need a lot of Catching up, i just played the game.
Number 9 is one of the most important...
Using someone as the bar to set scores is honestly the best way to improve in all rhythm games. If someone beats you, you get motivated to set higher scores to stay ahead etc.
It's also why I quit Osu, cause everyone I compete with stopped so there's no more fun in improving.
I agree! :D
I hope you can find someone to compete with :(
6:06 she doesn't think the same
Me laughing* "DONT LAUGH IM TRYING TO HIT IT"
for me alternating was way easier than single tapping
if you started alternating early on, then yes, makes sense!~
is it fine to download a 5 gigs beatmep pack
Yeeee
right ive been playing for 3 days and cant single tap.. i can only alternate. i have a lot of experience with mobile rhythm games and taiko but was told to try and use both tapping methods but how tf do i do that i can onlyyyy alternate

Recommending to buy something for ~50 total to play a free game as a beginner is crazy. I dont even know of I need to use the Keyboard or mouse to click. Thats the kind of stuff I would expect to be explained here
Hello! That's why I explained in the video, that if you are a complete beginner I advise you to watch other beginner friendly videos about how to set up the most basic stuff. This is an improvement guide :)
osu! tablets come as cheap as 16 dollars in amazon if you watch the video! No need to spend 50 dollars. Also I think that it's worth it from my experience and it's a very valuable tip in my opinion. At the end of the day I'm not recommending you a $500 VR headset like in Beat Saber to be better at the game, I am recommending something that has the price of a 1 day dinner that is very affordable (and also sellable if you end up not liking it), that will potentially make A HUGE difference, and save you lots of time. So basically, I don't think "it's crazy" like you said. :)
I will take your advice still but I just wanted to clear some possible misconceptions. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I would not recommend a tablet unless sure you want to use it. throwing $40 to $100 or more at a device you might not use is a choice people have the right to make.
Do not recommend playing difficulties below your skill level, how does that help anyone? That's boring at most. it be more beneficial to play difficulty over your skill level. you know you will fail but surviving longer is a noticeable skill improvement.
I do not recommend Co-op over unless playing friends. if you can't bet 5 stars or 6 stars up you should not play Co-op. You get curve-stomped online and maybe rage-quit. Solo if you fail the song ends meaning you can retry or quit. Co-op might kill your enjoyment, and then drop the game.
You're free to play the game however you want!
You can also make your own video about improvement tips! :D
