I don't believe he's evil I believe he's necessary evil sometimes you need monsters to get rid of monsters there the ones who also get hand shakes from police officers and prison guards aswell as some inmates he only hurt the evil people not innocent the world needs monsters like Ray Shoesmith
This brought me to tears. I don’t want to suffer when I become incapacitated. I think about it often because I’m taking care of my mom. She has severe vascular dementia. My end could be very different because I don’t have children.
I hear you. Looked after my mum for 2 years before she died. Sister committed suicide 2 christmases ago. I'm the last of my family, 60 yo and dodgy health. I'm scared of being put some where and waiting for death. I would rather pick my time
You're not alone mate. It's scary to think there's more years behind us than what's ahead. Similar story with my mum. But it's comforting to think she's in a better place just like your mum and all the family and friends we've lost along the way. No more pain, only peace. No matter how this life pans out, we'll meet them all again.@@robsmith27
We really need to be able to make our own choices! Why does society seem so intent on watching people suffer? Religion? Yeah, well that mob of hypocrites has a lot to answer for!
@Tyrantofthewind being in bed on deaths door not able to breath or use the toilet , like my dad did hasn't got any dignity, believe me a tablet or a helping hand has more compassion except you'd be jailed
@@bigears4014 Thanks for confirming my point. To quote House, "There's no such thing! One of the best, not just Australian, but world wide series ever. The characters are amazing, the actors play them to perfection and the plots are just out of this world. The thing about Ray, even though, technically he is a killer, he also has a set of rules that he lives by and has a BIG heart - ya just gotta love him!! Just shows, you do not need a massive budget, constant special effects or complicated story lines. Well done Australia............classic series. Big Jim NZ
The best, the very best series I’ve ever watched. If Ray Shoesmith was real, I’d idolise him. He is the best antidote for the idiots, bludgers, bullies and inconsiderate knobs you see every day. He could teach youngsters how to grow up and look after themselves whilst being polite, kind and caring Long live Ray
Anyone whose ever had chronic pain, sees the great acting the person who played Brucy is. The look in the eyes of Brucy being helped up, eith his eyes looking right through Ray, is exactly how a bad flare up of pain makes one feel.
The little girl,is the daughter of the director. (The director plays also the brother of his girlfriend who pinches the unicorn from her) Love the show
I've only seen the shorts because I live in Indonesia but it's Australian film making at its very best. If Mister Inbetween doesn't pick up a bundle of awards it bloody well should.
I knew someone who was paralysed from the waist down and even though he had been prayed over time and again the pain he suffered from a tumor on his spine which had, after surgery for removal, wound itself around his spine died. I bet his wish was to die and have his suffering end. He was only 20 yo so a lifetime of suffering was probably not something he wanted to endure.
Mate, ECHO mate, mate mate mate, you have done so well on the production and editing of these clips,...... mate,...i am just enamoured with it all and you're obvious talent, you are a star,.......thank you mate.
That was more powerful and painful than i expected
Should have won an Emmy for his role
@@PHN-2024 no was broadcast in the us too
The fact that he wasn't even nominated gives me 0 faith in awards.
Absolutely, best I have seen.

Watched the seasons during covid with my wife. Every possible human emotion that could be felt was felt.

"So nobody dies?"

The whole show should have be Commended for it's portrayal of humanity!!
I was deeply touched by the character of Bruce. The way Nicholas played him was phenomenal. One of the saddest characters I ever saw.
Ray has got to be one of the most complex evil men ever portrayed.
I personally never saw Ray as evil. Did he do some bad thing, yes. Did he do some good thing also yes.
Ray is the reflection of the truth in an evil system. Ray is part of the system, as we all are.
That man is not evil, he is just!
He's just doing gods work

always get tears forming when I watch those clips
Ray Shoesmith is a LEGEND

No one dies with dignity. Anyone who believes that has never been around the entire process. Dignity is something you live with not die with.

Agreed. Ray is the man. I’ve been telling myself “be more like ray”. In terms of keeping calm and approaching situations like he does.
In his own way he is all of those things, but he is also a killer, which means he is also a psychopath.
brilliant series Scott Ryan is great, best Australian series ever a must watch well acted and dark but funny typical ozzy
Absolutely brilliant acting, really makes you think and makes you feel the emotions. 😢❤
That final 'thanks for this mate' kills me every time, phenomenal acting, great story about humanity and brotherhood
That breaks my heart. I can feel the tears
Brilliant actor. Great show, hands down one of the best.

or watching a loved one getting to the point they want to die.

Great writing...
Nicholas Cassim playing Bruce's last day with Britt is so perfect, it's criminal his work isn't more recognized.
What a beautiful montage. Thanks for putting this together.
That's the very first time that I've ever seen Ray shed a tear.
Such a brilliant show

Brucey was an angel, he wanted to get Ray close to their father again after he has passed.
